We offer wonderful weekly specials that offer exceptional value to locals and tourists alike.
Great poke. Fabulous Cadillac Margaritas. Twice have made open door reservation for sunday and when I arrived, they had no reservation for me. They accommodated me even though they were tapped out. There is some problem.
Disappointed! The Calamari Fritti was the worst we ever had - tough like rubber. The sauce came with it was like ketchup, not restaurant-style sauce. The Pesto Chicken Pasta's chicken was in pieces smaller than the cooked diced chicken from the supermarket that was overcooked and dried. The chicken inside the Taquitos was so dried and overcooked. The Asian salad was overdressing in order to cover some of the not so fresh vegetables. The clam chowder smells very good filled with cream, but lack of natural clam juice favor. I'd like to give a one-star, but the system doesn't allow. The reviews were definitely over reviewed. We for sure will not go back again.
My family and I enjoyed our time at the restaurant. The entertainment was very good.
We were seared right away. The restaurant is nicely decorated. The food and service was exceptional.
Birthday -everyone was great! One of favorite band was playing and we were able to be seated right in front of the band!
This was heaven on the Labor Day holiday. Had a great lunch of oysters on the half shell ($1 each on Mondays), terrific clam chowder and garlic bread. The place was busy, but not too crowded or noisy. The band, Funkberry Preserves, was very good and lots of people got up to dance. The food and service are always very good.
Have been to the Black Marlin (BM) many times for the music and good food. Really enjoy the many brunch options. Last visit I had French Toast with bananas and special syrup along with eggs and bacon. The French toast is excellent and the bacon is some of the best ever. Good rock music on Sundays.
Great food, drinks, service! The band was awesome! Overall you can’t loose breakfast lunch dinner or happy hour.
The food was excellent, the service was great and the staff was exceptional. The restaurant was neat and clean and we felt welcome and at home. 👍
Great time seeing a great band and celebrating Woodstock’s 50th anniversary.
The food and service were both good. The food is a little pricey but worth it.
The restaurant was good, but not perfect. The parking is a real challenge. The live entertainment was nice. The service was very good and attentive. My wife had to have her fish cooked more. Some of my friends would like this place but others would not. It's probably not for everyone.
The Black Marlin is great! Between the food, entertainment and the atmosphere, we just love going here!
Great little place. The food was really good and I loved the cocktail list. The live musics was a surprise but so fun!! Great night out.
The clam chowder was outstanding! Unfortunately, that was about it. The Nob Cobb salad was tasteless and the lettuce looked like it was served well beyond its “fresh til” date. Caesar salad was ordered with grilled shrimp and came with what looked and tasted like pre-cooked shrimp from the grocery store (which was also on the Nob Cobb salad). Along with two cocktails, our bill was more than $80. Love the Old Town Tustin location, but the meal was a major let down, especially considering the top dollar prices they are charging. Definitely better places in the immediate area!
We really enjoy the Black Marlin. The food and service are pretty darn good. We usually come here for food and entertainment. There is no dance floor, but a small area for a band. On this occasion we had a booth/table right in front of the kitchen area and it was a little on the noisy side. Prefer tables away from the kitchen area.
Wonderful location to meet up with friends. Excellent food reasonable prices for quality food. Their service has always set the standard for being the best!
Food was great! A little noisy but ok. Also a great jazz band played and it awesome.
Food, service and ambiance great! My husband and I will be back soon!
We asked our server specific ally if we could order my wife’s plate the way she like it. She said no problem. Well when our food came out her dish was totally wrong. So she scooped it up to return to the kitchen. It took approx 20 minutes to return by that time I was done with my meal. My wife’s hunger had started to go away because the length of time. So we asked for it to go. Then the check came with no apologies or adjustments. So I request an adjustment in which she started arguing with me on. Then she returns grumpy and said the manger adjusted it. I felt the service was ok but the food to cost value was not there. We will not return and let our friends know of our terrible experience.
Great way to start our Sunday with family from out of town. Good meal and nice place. Food(Brunch) was excellent actually! Always like coming here!
Table service was very good. We sat in bar area along the wall. The band was just above average. Music could have been a little more danceable. For the price, the food was just average. Fun place though.
Outstanding service and the food was great.
Came to listen to the band, Family Style. I enjoyed my meal, large portions. Drinks were excellent!
This was our first time there,we'll back soon.Looking forward to listening to more music.
We ordered Chilean Sea Bass and Cajun Pasta (2nd choice b/c there was no more trout), both of which were decent neither terrible nor excellent (sea bass tasted not better than Maestro and the price was about 10% less). The service was horrible...it took about 15 min. for a server to show up asking us what would we like to drink. The food took another 20 min. to arrive. Didn't see anyone again until we twice requested for the check. It seemed there was only one working server taking care of 6 tables. There were others in uniform but did not do much except for walking around. The time was 9pm on Friday and the place was 50% occupied.
It was our first visit and we ordered two of the specials: steak and crab cake and the halibut. The food was what ruined it. The steak, although flavorful, was undercooked and too grisly (hard to cut). The crab cake was just okay ( where’s the crab meat?). The scallop potatoes were too salty. The halibut was tender but unflavored. I told the waitress about the steak and the manager came to talk to us. Everyone was willing to listen , but, offered no discount or free dessert. We ordered the Memphis donut which was good although it was smothered in too much sauce. We won’t be back.
We have been here a couple of times for brunch and been wanting to try it for dinner but their dinner prices are on the high $$, $$$ side. We were trying to find a place for our anniversary dinner and decided to come here and did not disappoint.
We had a couple of cocktails to start with. I had the pain killer and hubby had the cracked coconut from the summer cocktail special menu. We loved the painkiller! The cracked coconut was just so so; I guess there is a lot of shaved coconuts in it because it was very hard to drink with the straw. We had the sriracha shrimps and clam chowder to start. The clam chowder is thick and full of clam. The sriracha shrimp was good but we'll probably try something else next time. I had scallops and shrimp and hubby had Chilean sea bass. My shrimp and scallops were cooked to perfection with sautéed spinach and polenta. The sea bass was a generous chunk and done just right. We shared the whiskey creme brûlée bread pudding; it was good but we were a bit disappointed because there was no creme brûlée portion to it at all.
We had a wonderful dinner and will definitely come back again!! They take reservations on Open Table and it's usually pretty open. The interior is on the classic darker side. One thing to remember is that they have a live band playing during prime dinner hours starting 7 or 8pm so go early if you don't want loud music!
Fantastic entertainment. We went for the live music.
Service was excellent. When we were being seated, I was unhappy with the location. So, they seated the 4 of us on the floor level where we could see the band (which was excellent because of the choice of songs as well as the vocals, etc.) First experience there & we will definitely try it again.
Family Friday dinner
Birthday for my husband. Food was good but service was a little slow.
Excellent food and service. My swordfish was wonderful. The clam chowder, the best in Orange County
A unique get away in the center of Orange County... Old Town Tustin. The historic Tustin Garage has been converted into an amazing venue with indoor and outdoor seating. Most nights have live music. The food is amazing with a menu to please everyone. Sunday brunch is the best with Bloody Marys or endless Champagne Mimosa. This place has a strong local following and the regulars are just a friendly as the staff. on the wall is a message: " enter as a stranger and leave as a friend" (paraphrased). I'll be back, see you there!
Sapphire on rocks full glass pour with blue cheese olives! Don't see that too many places anymore... the food has been exceptional from day one. Love the patio where we can have a conversation minus the noise. Service is great even when busy. I enjoy seeing such pros work together. Prices are a bargain for the quality. Two words: World Class!
Macey was amazing food was great Libation was always there when it was needed or wanted
Food was delicious. Our waitress had lots of other tables so service wasn't the best. She tried her best. Our table for 6 was right next to the bar area and it was very loud and difficult to hold a conversation. Still - everyone was pleased with the location and the food.
Ribs were a little dry
Great place great food great service!
The fresh seafood is excellent, and the clam chowder is the best - better than what we've had in New England!
