   Sadly not a good experience. Despite the place being empty the service was slow and when the food did finally arrive it was not dissimilar to a school dinner. There were several choices from the menu not available. There was no ambience and the decor was in need of an uplift. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

   Really lovely old pub. Great food, and lovely staff. Thoroughly recommended.

   Food was good we went for Sunday Lunch only let down was the Crumble and Custard the small jug with Custard only contained a table spoon full at the most

   Very disappointing - service very slow, but few people in restaurant - goodness knows what it would have been like if they had been busy - the person serving us was quite scruffy, and wearing shorts - all food pretty mediocre - edible, but nothing special

   Only people in the pub, no atmosphere. Not sure how much longer it will remain open! Didn't know about our booking. Access for disabled not the best.

   We booked a table here on a Saturday evening through OpenTable however on arrival were told they had no record of this as it was a private party. The girl behind the bar was quite shocked we were there however said we could eat but there would be a wait. As it was a Saturday night and everywhere else seemed packed we felt we should give it a go and I'm glad we did! We went straight into the main course I had chicken supreme which was delicious my husband had the burger also excellent and the others had gammon and fish and chips which once again were also good. Despite being told there would be a wait there wasn't the food came out quickly and the service was good. Only two of us had puddings and I can highly recommend the mango and passion fruit cheesecake! - superb!! All in all I'd recommend the place and will return!

   The beef could not be cut, leave alone chewed. Meal luke warm. Vegetables not just crisp but very much under-cooked. My husband told the waitress - and she said she would "tell the kitchen". When we came to pay my husband again complained to the manager/owner and she just gave us the glass of coke and pineapple juice free of charge. I would not recommend it to anyone and would certainly not go there again. It was our 45th Wedding Anniversary and we mat as well have gone to McDonalds - at least their food is hot.

   We went to the black horse using a popular discount voucher, however we would go back and pay full price quite happily. Waitresses were very friendly, the atmosphere was good, although the food was a little slow coming out, the waitresses couldn't apologise enough and the food was very tasty and good value for money. Something for everyone on the menu and not costing a fortune. Will definitely be going again.

   We ordered our food but was disappointed when the waitress came back to say our choice of special was sold out, I ordered sausage and mash instead but was told that was sold out as well. I did get my 3rd choice and it was delicious. When we ordered the desert our first choice was again sold out. It wasn't as if the pub was busy there was only another table for four dining that evening, it would have been more helpful as we were given the menus to be informed at that point what was not available. The food was well cooked and presented and the waitress was very friendly and was apologetic over the limited choice and when we had to send the pint of Guiness back explaining it was probably the first out of the barrel
