The Black Horse in the village of Fulmer is nestled between Gerrards Cross and Pinewood Studios. The 17th Century craftsman’s cottage has gradually been extended to form a charming country pub full of nooks and crannies. Under new ownership, The Black Horse has recently undergone extensive refurbishment both inside and out, creating one of the nicest pub environments in the area.

Food is our passion and we will never compromise on quality. We are proud of our seasonally changing menus, simple, yet exciting using the finest ingredients and locally sourced produce. Certain dishes have become specialities such as our sticky ribs and homemade 8oz burgers. Our beef has been aged for a minimum of 35 days and the roast beef served on Sundays is unrivalled. Crispy beer battered fish and specials such as sea bass, turbot and whole lobster, is caught in the morning and delivered fresh to us on the same day.

Charming pub with nice food. It was quiet on a Tuesday for dinner. Staff were lovely and attentive.

Excellent Sunday Roast with all the trimmings, followed by a delicious sticky toffee pudding to share. Friendly staff and excellent service. Will definitely be back.

I should start by saying that this pub restaurant has been a family favourite for many years. Unfortunately our lunch yesterday fell short of our expectations. We sat inside as it was a very warm day. Our meals were pleasant enough but it was virtually impossible to eat our food due to the number of flies swarming around us. I spent the entire meal wafting the flies off of my elderly mother and our food. A young man - member of staff (who was not our server) kindly suggested moving us to the other end of the pub (in the bar area) but of course the swarm of flies followed. I suggested to our waitress that it would be a good idea to close the doors, spray the room and turn on the airconditioning. We were the only diners inide so the above steps would not have impacted anyone else. Nothing was done and we ultimately gave up eating as flies were landing on our food which was not a pleasant experience. No discount was offered. We won't be returning until the weather is much cooler.

First time at the Black Horse in Fulmer and what a lovely evening we all had. All the staff and their service were impeccable and the food to match. A beautiful setting with a great atmosphere and energy. Highly recommend!

I’m afraid the service was incredibly slow . Most people were outside in the garden and we rarely saw waiters . So lunch took 3 hours . Food was great though .

Lovely pub in a pretty village, our party of four had the delicious Sunday roast beef, with very generous portions followed by gorgeous apple and plum crumble and custard. Service was excellent. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to return.
