The atmosphere was beautiful, the bartender was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable, the food was outstanding.
Great for a birthday!
Their specials are 3 times the menu price even though they are the same thing. I got tricked with a 50 dollar ribeye that was on the menu for 22 dollars?
The bacon wrapped dates were AMAZING!! I would rate higher because the food was very good but the meals were only warm when served and the steak was supposed to come with brussel sprouts and red skin roasted potatoes but instead was served with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The server did not inform us of the change and never said anything about it.
The food and menu were very good. The service was very friendly and helpful. The ambiance was nice. It was a bit pricey though...
Not a great experience because there was no experience. Restaurant called 2 hours prior to reservation saying they close at the time we were scheduled to dine. I also received a text confirming the time. No excuse for not calling a day or so in advance so I could make alternate plans.
Great service and food!
A cozy little spot with great fresh food. Daily specials were great. Some of the every day menu items also change daily such as the salmon and scallops.
Bar was well stocked food was an amazing value. Would definitely recommend.
The Bistro offers creative food combinations that taste excellent! The excellent food along with excellent service make for an outstanding dining experience!
Had a great time thanks to the service and the attentiveness of our server.
We stopped in town for a night and stayed in the Marriott off the highway. We found this via an open table search, and it was simply outstanding! Well worth the minimal 5 minute drive off the highway. The server and bartender who took care of us were both professional, helpful and very friendly. Very nice ambience, and we had outstanding burgers, really good. Good dinner choices were available but we couldn't resist the burgers. This is well worth the stop when passing through or visiting Bowling Green.
Been here a few times. Underwhelmed by the chicken and lobster, but duck confit was amazing. Service was great, atmosphere could be better, kind of lame.
Neat place, great service from Jordan, and the food was so fresh and delicious!
The Bistro is located in a charming older home in Bowling Green. We chose It because of the good reviews from Trip Advisor. We had the crab beignets as an appetizer. They were good but a little bland. My husband had the Prime ribeye which cost $38. We expected a better cut of meat than he received. It was not worth the price. I had the scallops which were delicious however the side was squid ink risotto. The risotto had a good flavor but it looked terrible. I couldn’t get past the black color. We had Baileys chocolate mousse cake which was good but not memorable. I doubt we will return.
Enjoyed fine dining of Instagram-worthy meals. Our meals were a delicious blend of unique tastes with familiar comfort foods. Perfect ambience for a date night or intimate get-together with friends.
Good food. Excellent service.
The Bistro was an excellent find. We absolutely enjoyed the excellent, creative cuisine and outstanding service. (Heidi). We would highly recommend the Bistro.
The quality and service is always consistent. We dine here every 4 to 6 weeks without fail. Never disappoints.
Beautiful old building, lovely decor. Disorganized staff. They were not too busy, but waitress seemed very disorganized. One of our group is on a low salt diet, so we asked if the item he was interested in could be made without salt. She went to check and came back and told us No (not a problem for us, totally understand that some things have all ready been prepped) , so we asked what Chef had suggested. She said she didn't ask, but thought anything else on the menu. She was wrong and had to come back again after we ordered to tell us he had to change his choice. She forgot to bring our appetizer, and it was given to another table. We got it after the salads. Dinners sounded good, bu prep was mot as flavorful as description. Ordered the Pecan pie, way too sugary.
It was our first time there after reading some positive reviews. We drove up from Nashville and both felt the food was worth the 3 hour drive. The menu featured interesting and seasonal choices. We enjoyed all 3 courses and will be back
Absolutely fabulous in every way. The food was exceptional, the service was exceptional, the ambiance was great and the waiter was great. Be sure to make a reservation because there were only 2 tables free.
Delicious and Ample portions, creative cuisine. Friendly professional service. I look forward to going back soon.
We enjoyed an double date evening with friends. Dinner was relaxed and we had plenty of time to share and laugh. Our server was very good. She never let our glasses get empty and kept our table cleared of dishes. It was a lovely evening.
Super meal. Real foodie choice. Great server with good suggestions.
Entertaining out of town guests
We sat outside on the patio. Very good time. Food and service was very good.
The chicken liver appetizer was to die for. Then an excellent prepared ribeye made for an absolute fabulous dinner
Food was very average and prices were high for the neighborhood. The redeeming quality was that it was empty and the noise level was very low. Tables were also spaced nicely.
Omg 😲 the food was fantastic... definitely will be back... very classy!! Our friends were impressed also.
We were traveling through town and arrived at The Bistro around 3:45; an awkward time as the restaurant was about to close for lunch and prep for dinner. The hostess was incredibly gracious, and treated us like welcome guests. The food was excellent, restaurant decor was charming, and I ate my lunch wishing I could stay for dinner. Definitely recommend!
We were in the area to view the eclipse and chose The Bistro randomly for dinner. So glad that we did! Cocktails and food were excellent! Delicious artichoke fritters, crab beignets and steaks. My daughter thought it was one of the best steaks she's ever had and particularly liked the potato croquettes as the side dish. We had a very charming and attentive waiter also. I doubt we'll be back to Bowling Green any time soon, but we would definitely eat at The Bistro again!
Would definitely go again, and would definitely recommend it to friends.
We enjoyed this restaurant on our eclipse treat. Had they been open Sunday night, we would have gone again. Dishes were creative, wait staff were efficient. The only complaint was that the wine was warm. They brought an ice bath to remedy that situation. A very nice find!
Excellent food ---- service could have been better. Good spacing between tables.
Overall great meal.
Service was great and food was very good. Trout was kind of blah.
Pork belly way too salty. Salmon good. Lo nein base for salmon was mushy and wet. Service was slow. Bread board a waste of time. Salads excellent. Did not know tip was included and we double tipped. Will not return
We love the Bistro! Our waiter was a little off on some things, but the food was fabulous as always.
Interesting food choices available, all tasty! I had the roasted red pepper soup and Reuben sandwich. Also shared some crab beignets with others in the party. Yum! Not crowded, but mid-afternoon on a Monday, so that was nice! Good atmosphere, too bad it was so hot, would have enjoyed sitting on the porch!
The food was delicious as always, and the service was excellent. Don't miss the bacon-wrapped dates! They're my favorite item on the menu, and I was so excited to see that they were available at brunch as well as dinner.
We really enjoyed our brunch. The food was freshly made and the service was professional and friendly.
