The Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Beautiful old building, lovely decor. Disorganized staff. They were not too busy, but waitress seemed very disorganized. One of our group is on a low salt diet, so we asked if the item he was interested in could be made without salt. She went to check and came back and told us No (not a problem for us, totally understand that some things have all ready been prepped) , so we asked what Chef had suggested. She said she didn't ask, but thought anything else on the menu. She was wrong and had to come back again after we ordered to tell us he had to change his choice. She forgot to bring our appetizer, and it was given to another table. We got it after the salads. Dinners sounded good, bu prep was mot as flavorful as description. Ordered the Pecan pie, way too sugary.
We were traveling through town and arrived at The Bistro around 3:45; an awkward time as the restaurant was about to close for lunch and prep for dinner. The hostess was incredibly gracious, and treated us like welcome guests. The food was excellent, restaurant decor was charming, and I ate my lunch wishing I could stay for dinner. Definitely recommend!
We were in the area to view the eclipse and chose The Bistro randomly for dinner. So glad that we did! Cocktails and food were excellent! Delicious artichoke fritters, crab beignets and steaks. My daughter thought it was one of the best steaks she's ever had and particularly liked the potato croquettes as the side dish. We had a very charming and attentive waiter also. I doubt we'll be back to Bowling Green any time soon, but we would definitely eat at The Bistro again!
We enjoyed this restaurant on our eclipse treat. Had they been open Sunday night, we would have gone again. Dishes were creative, wait staff were efficient. The only complaint was that the wine was warm. They brought an ice bath to remedy that situation. A very nice find!
Interesting food choices available, all tasty! I had the roasted red pepper soup and Reuben sandwich. Also shared some crab beignets with others in the party. Yum! Not crowded, but mid-afternoon on a Monday, so that was nice! Good atmosphere, too bad it was so hot, would have enjoyed sitting on the porch!
Wonderful atmosphere for celebrating our anniversary. The presentation of the food was great and only eclipsed by the flavors. Our server was polite yet personable. Very pleasant. My wife and I agree that the experience could not have been better. We will be back and highly recommend to others.
First time visiting the area. Found a Groupon and it had good reviews. It was our Anniversary and wanted someplace special. We went at 6PM, and was not crowded, but it quickly filled afterwards. My salmon and collard greens were a special for the night, and it was delicious. My husband ordered a pasta dish, which he liked very much also. The dessert was scrumpcious!
My partner and I had a great evening out. Service was great and our table was waiting when we arrived. The restaurant itself is quaint and beautiful. I had the penne rustica, which was incredible. She had an evening special which was a ribeye with portobello mushroom and a marrow sauce. Everything was delicious, including the cocktails. I'm new in town and am very happy I gave this place a try. We'll both definetly be back many times to come.
