Recently our local Jewish newspaper wrote an article about the Jewish scene at various ski resorts throughout the country. As my family and I were preparing for our trip to Park City, we thought that it would be fun to try it out. My husband is mostly vegan and I am vegetarian, but we will eat fish occasionally. However our kids love meat and we keep kosher. The kids were both excited to go, as when we travel, eating out is often an issue. We are not glatt kosher, but we want them to think about what they're eating before they do and ask themselves if it's OK to eat or not. We read some of the reviews on line and were a little nervous as they are not good. Poor marks were given to reception, service, price and quality of the food. Our issue was not really with any of this. I can understand the high prices for the meat -- but $20 for a salad? The hostess was not at the door when we got there. However, a patron with his adorable son was. We walked in and immediately, everyone swung their heads toward us. We are conservative Jews and secular. My husband nor my son do not wear kippot unless we're at shul. All men had kippot on. A few minutes after we got there, the hostess/waitress sat us. The menu is limited (no kid's menu) so I had to get both of my kids the filet which as very expensive -- especially since my son did not eat most of his. Our issue was the ambiance. I think that the other diners thought that we were gentiles who happened to stumble in to the restaurant. When it came for evening prayers and the rabbi was gathering men for a minyan, my husband was ignored. At first he was miffed, but then said he was happy to have the quiet in the restaurant and eat his dinner. He and I both ordered salmon. It was perfectly cooked. A woman at another table sent hers back because it wasn't cooked. We left feeling weird and don't think we would recommend it to any of our Jewish friends visiting Park City.

Had a lovely evening out with friends. Food was very tasty- steaks were cooked perfectly- and staff was friendly. Chef was very accomodating with making sure my meal was gluten free. Would definitely recommend.

My three friends and I recently had a Shabbat dinner at Prime. Not only was the meal absolutely delicious, and served in a warm friendly, family style, but the ambience amongst all the diners was special. While we were sitting and listening to the zumeros from all the tables it made my non-observant friend comment "this is everything that's right about Judaism." While my friends were a bit hesitant at first to go, they all thanked me for the experience and the wonderful dinner. So I thank you, Prime. See you again.

We were the ONLY people there on a Saturday night during the season, which should tell you something. The restaurant was dead silent to the point of being awkward. They would intermittently play some music, then it would go silent again.

When we got there, the combination waitress/hostess/busboy set a pitcher of water on the table for us to pour our own glasses. It was enough for 5 glasses of water, which was a awesome for our party of 8.

If you're indecisive, the wine list is for you. With a total of 6 red wines to chose from, you're sure to find something you'll like quickly. As a bonus, they simply place your second bottle on the table (opened already, of course) for you to pour yourself. Very "rustic", which is of course what you expect from a steakhouse in a resort village.

The food was average, definitely not worth the price.

I'm not sure I'd go again if I was being paid to eat here. Almost any other restaurant would have been a better choice.

A reboot of the Bistro at Canyons Kosher venue. Worth the price if you keep kosher and value quality food, but pricey if that does not matter to yo. For those seeking a kosher ski vacation, it is better than having to schlep your own food, or ship food from elsewhere. Time and effort saved make up for the higher price

We were warned, but went anyway. We arrived to find garbage, boxes and miscellaneous junk on the front entry porch. The service was non-existent. Our salad plates were cleared when our meal came and dinner plates after we received our bill back. I think our waitress was also the host, but not really sure who was assigned to what duty. The food and selection was terrible - the worst steaks we have ever had which were tough and not even close to being cooked how we requested. We couldn't send them back because our waitress never came by until we flagged her down to ask for our bill and at that point we just wanted to leave. Worst meal ever and it was not cheap - two salads, two filets (with French fries - really) and one glass of wine for $150 - not including the 15% tip. Too bad we couldn't give them 0 stars.

The food is very good. Definitely the best since the restaurant opened. You will have to exercise patience, but that is to be expected, it's a seasonal kosher restaurant. They are making an effort and the staff is very friendly.

I was looking for the steak restaurant Prime on Main Street. When this popped up first on Open Table, we thought it was the same restaurant, but up in the Canyons and thought that would be awesome.... to have a great steak dinner, but away from the chaos of Sundance and have the scenic view. We did not realize it was a different restaurant, and kosher, or that they had no idea how to serve. The problem ended up not being that it was kosher. That actually made it kind of a fun adventure as we felt like we had entered a time warp, bar-mitzvah thing. The problem was the restaurant was EMPTY and yet they were out of things we ordered and they brought our entree while we were still eating our appetizer... TWICE. So, we had to hold up our appetizer plates while they figure out how to clear our plates to serve the entree. We also had to go find our server to pay the bill and ask for more water, etc. It just seemed like they had no idea what they were doing when they have been open for a year and were charging the same prices the actual steak place we thought we were going to were charging. If it had been less expensive, we could have appreciated the kitsch factor a lot more. But if you are going to pretend you are a 4 star steak restaurant and charge like it, then you need to step your game. I felt duped.

Worst meal I have ever had to pay for. Required a full credit card guarantee for New Year's Eve - six people at $95 each. The restaurant is in a resort area and must assume customers will not return, thus the terrible food at an exorbitant price. A one-star rating would be too high.

Dont waste your time or money. Made New Year's Eve reservations, and our night -planned as a 4-course menu, got cut short. Like others we left after the over peppered soup. Service was poor. Noone knew to serve women first, or to take plates away before serving the next plate. All food came out overcooked and cold. Wine from Italy was actually from Australia. The prime rib was dry, well done, and served on a cold plate.
Manager was incompetent and offered a 50% discount, but we ended up leaving before taking a bite of the meat.
Manager was dressed in bluejeans and a fleece sweater, his wait staff was clearly not trained at all. One person in our group was constantly served 5 min after the others.
I kept telling myself..."they have never done this before...and I meant not NYE dinner, but serving a group of 6."

I feel bad for the restaurant owner because the building was evacuated for a fire in the same building right before he had to open for dinner. But...he should have never opened his doors since the food they served was awful! The prime rib that we ordered never arrived after sitting for 3 hours at the table. They gave us the food togo since our kids had fallen asleep at the table. When we got to our room to finally eat, we opened our food and the medium rare prime rib that we ordered looked and tasted like well done shoe leather. Our dinner was almost $1,000 for shoe leather. We are calling American Express to get a refund on our meal. The dinner that we never received made us miss the fireworks and the festival. It was a terrible experience with terrible service and terrible food!

The food was delicious but very expensive. The service was very friendly but slow. A basic dinner took two hours and they mixed up three of our 5 orders. They did fix everything graciously. We would GI back.

location was good. food was a bit below avg but priced as full prime steak house. we had four guests, none of them were too impressed...i usually shy away from giving a negative review but i think this restaurant has potential..my recommendation would be a newer menu and some additions/deletions to/from the culinary team...by the way, the menu listed on open table is not the correct menu..they have a much more abbreviated dinner menu
