The Bistro - Biltmore Estate
The Bistro features contemporary American fare. Fresh, seasonal, and local ingredients are the focus on the dinner menu, which features premium steaks, impeccable mountain trout and seafood, poultry and lamb. Chef Brandon Pruett creates contemporary bistro-inspired recipes featuring estate–raised products and locally grown produce. Gardens on the estate produce a wide array of vegetables and fruits throughout the seasons, and our extensive pasture lands provide all-natural, hormone-free Black Angus beef and lamb.

Number one on my short list for dining at Biltmore.
Our service was really slow...Over 2 hours for lunch. Too long. Also, there were really limited options for vegetarians.
Vanessa was amazing! Food great!
Service was excellent our waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was great and always a good reason to visit the winery next door
Quite a nice place bringing farm to table in a rich nonpretentious way. Casual or semi-formal it is a nice place with good wine selections
Yes, but be prepared to pay a lot of money for a small portion. The food was very tasty but not a portion equal to the amount of money you pay. I would recommend the food, but beware of the price.
Although we enjoyed our lunch, it was delicious and the service was just fine, the restaurant itself was extremely cold, making it uncomfortable. I made a request to the front staff about that cold draft that was pouring down on the tables in my area. They did adjust the heat, but at no time during our lunch where we actually comfortable with the temperature in the building. Additionally, the women’s restroom was like an igloo.
After being disappointed with the Inn’s dining room the evening before, found the Bistro was just the right follow up. Wonderful meals (Returned the next night) and outstanding server (Christal). We are an annual pass holder and have frequently returned to the Inn since 2008.
Ordered grouper main entree. Chef absolutely killed this dish. Waaaaay over cooked....ruined an otherwise good meal. Service was good and nice ambiance. Friendly staff but chef needs to learn how to cook. $37 for a dry chewy fish.....I won’t be back
The waitress was excellent. I think Emily was her name. The food was way over priced even for wagyu. Mostly bc the plate was 3/4 french fries and a tiny bit of steak. Probably won't go back. I feel there are better options on the estate.
Always enjoy the going to the Estate.
Nice restaurant, good food, very good service. We enjoyed our lunch.
Best steak I ever had! My son enjoyed the cheeses tray and dessert the best!
Great service. Pricey, but our ribeye steaks (10 oz.) were delicious and cooked perfectly. Very enjoyable meal!
The Bistro never fails to impress. If you are looking for a nice place to relax and have a delicious lunch I highly recommended it. The service is impeccable. I can’t wait for my next visit.
Tomato bisque was delightful! Excellent experience, reasonably priced.
We had a wonderful experience at the Bistro. Our server was Bobby and he was FANTASTIC and very personable. We each had the 1855 Ribeye and they were both cooked perfectly. We got the cheese plate as an appetizer and all 3 of our chosen cheeses were delicious. The honey that came with the cheese was DELICIOUS and made the cheese plate that much better. We will for sure come back to the Bistro on another Biltmore trip.
We had very high hopes, being that The Bistro is located on the Biltmore Estates property, and left disappointed.
We've enjoyed the Bistro for over 20 years and while sometimes the menu is strange we thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit. Highly recommended.
We arrived early but were seated immediately. The service was quick. The food was very good. They split our salad into two servings to share.
Waiter was good, but busy with outdoor service and us. Too many French fries they were good, but could not eat them all. Calamari was good but not enough sauce just a smare. Realize this is geared to tourist, would definitely recommend to visitors, but we live locally and it is a hassle getting onto the estate so would only eat on property if bring guests or if there was a special event we wanted to see.
Was one of the best meals I have ever had!!! Everything was perfect,
And I look forward to returning to the Bistro!!!!
Our waiter was friendly and efficient. He knew the menu items, as well as took time to congratulate us on our birthday celebration.
Ambiance was nice and our waiter was very attentive. Our appetizer was excellent as was our salad. Both arrived very timely. Our main course took a long time to arrive since there was a large group being served about the same time and the entire kitchen appeared focused on only that group for quite a while. My husband had the scallops which were perfectly prepared and very good. But my short rib dish was grossly over cooked and hence tasteless. It should have been tender and easily cut with a fork but it difficult to cut with a steak knife. I should have sent it back but I figured what was the point and I didn’t want to wait another 20+ minutes for a replacement. That dish was the primary reason I picked the Bistro so incredibly disappointing to have the worst short rib I’ve ever had.
The Bistro is our favorite restaurant at Biltmore. The food is always delicious. Our favorites are the steaks, trout, and the salmon w/ salad that is part of the 3 course lunch. They always do a great job with the salmon - crispy on top, but moist and tender in the middle. Their soups and desserts are always delicious, too. Sometimes it's touch and go with the servers, which is why I gave them a 4 instead of 5. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
Food was excellent, fries were too cool so they brought out replacement serving that was delicious.
As an annual Biltmore Passholder We frequently dine at the Bistro, the service was excellent, the food this night was surprisingly below average. We always have trout and it normally is seasoned with great flavor. We ordered it last month and it was very good, this visit it was bland, burnt, on undercooked cabbage. Pretty disappointing, in comparing last month photo of dish compared to this meal, the dish was simply not prepared or presented the same way. One of our other diners ordered the chicken, presentation looked ok but again seasoning and lack of sauce accompanying it..,.it was also disappointing. Hope our visit in April will be better:)
Steak came out raw and sent back second time raw again. Manager on duty was not responsive or caring one bit. More like we were inconveniencing her. Steak was ordered medium plus! It wasn't even close.
Great service and delicious!
I felt that this restaurant is overpriced for the limited selection of entrees. There are other restaurants near by that are better.
The bread was AMAZING! I have to come buy some loaves. Our server was sweet and helped us with our orders. Food was impeccable. Will come again!
As a Biltmore annual pass holder, I eat at The Bistro a few times a year. It has consistently good food and service, always a nice experience. We had two pasta dishes this time, one beef and one chicken. The beef was delicious as was the chicken, although I'm not a big fan of mixing white and dark meat chicken in a pasta dish. If you can only choose one, pick the beef, as the meat comes from animals they raise on the estate and the sauce is rich and tasty. The highlight for me was the French Onion soup, though, it's one of the best in Asheville. If you like French Onion soup, order it here.
The gluten free menu used to be great! Now it has changed. People who must eat GF want more than salads and sandwiches. The kitchen made trout for me, but it was NOT nearly as good as it was before when it was on the GF menu. It used to be one of my favorite dishes ever. The other regular dishes were excellent for my guests. The say the pizza is outstanding! The shrimp bisque and the pear salad was great as well. Our server was perfect!
We are frequent visitors, and The Bistro does not disappoint. Krystal is an excellent server- very friendly and engaging. We request her section whenever possible.
A group of ladies went over for a early dinner. The restaurant was very quiet, peaceful, food was fantastic, Service was above average. We loved the wine, the food, and the shopping just across the path.
Great place and the food was good, but wtf....between 5 screaming kids and a table of loud old people next to us....it just wasn’t fun
This was a great addition to our Biltmore tour. The food was very good. The restaurant was clean and comfortable.
Had a lovely birthday dinner here with my hubby. The staff even read my request for a private, romantic table and gave us the cutest private spot! The food was delish. My husband got the trout and got three huge, delicious filets. Then they brought out birthday truffles at the end. Such a special night!
Lovely meal with attentive service. Highly recommend.
The service was very good and our server was professional and yet very friendly. The food was excellent. We would recommend The Bistro to anyone wanting a good meal, good service, and on the Estate.
