The Bistro - Biltmore Estate
The Bistro features contemporary American fare. Fresh, seasonal, and local ingredients are the focus on the dinner menu, which features premium steaks, impeccable mountain trout and seafood, poultry and lamb. Chef Noriko Oda creates French bistro-inspired recipes featuring estate–raised products and locally grown produce. Gardens on the estate produce a wide array of vegetables and fruits throughout the seasons, and our extensive pasture lands provide all-natural, hormone-free Black Angus beef and lamb.

I have always loved the Bistro at Biltmore Estate, however this visit did not live up to its usual standards. I would still recommend, putting this as being a fluke. Our waiter was good (not great). One gluten free diner did get gluten free bread (without a special request) but it was still cold from being frozen. My pommes frites were soggy and a little cold (not hot and crisp). On the other side of things, my kale Caesar salad was delicious, the scallops were nicely seared, and my husbands short ribs were tender. The mussel appetizer was perfectly cooked, but had too much smoke for our taste. And the side of string beans did not come out with the meal, but came out after we asked about them and they were over seasoned. Also seemed limp. (we were not charged for these). Since we have had so many wonderful meals at the restaurant we are taking all these issues with a grain of salt and will return.
I love the atmosphere and the venue. I always order the scallops. My favorite!
The steak was well presented, cooked to perfection at a reasonable price. The ambiance was romantic and quiet and very enjoyable!
This is a great restaurant. Excellent menu, excellent service. Great atmosphere.
The Bistro was amazing as always! Bobby was our server and he was equally amazing! Great time celebrating a 6 month birthday party and looking forward to 2019!
Food was good. The fresh baked dread wa fabulous. I ya a specialty drink that was excellent. My salad was very tasty. Had a little too much dressing for me. The waiter was very efficient, polite and gave us great service. The French onion soup was not the best I have had but it was good. Very cheesy the broth was not as rich as I have had. My salmon was cooked perfectly!! My husband had the chicken salad which is also excellent.
Had a great dinner here. Would totally go back! Service was quick and friendly.
Enjoyed the food and fellowship with my daughter and young grandchildren. Great service. Provided dairy free menu for one of the granddaughters. Salmon was spectacular as well as the salad. One granddaughter ate all of her pizza. Setting was perfect for four with two small children.
Amazing Food and Service!!! The only downfall is you have to pay to get on the Estate.
Fantastic food at a wonderful location
Bobbie always takes the best care if us, but tonight he went over the top. He helped me stay on my diet plan and have a delicious dinner. He is so kind and makes the experience fun! Thank you Bobbie.
We went for early dinner. We had pizza and wine. The food was good..the service was very good. The prices were high. I guess that’s part of the experience of being at Biltmore.
Vacation with family
Very good overall. Service and food very good. Restaurant was a little loud but tolerable.
Very disappointing: In writing, I had requested a birthday cake. None was presented. Instead, the hostess blundered by wishing "Happy Birthday" to my guest, thereby negating the surprise. Your staff failed to read the special request. The steak and lobster was presented as a large cube of simple strip steak, not a filet. We were surrounded by romper room kids, including a nursing Mom. The one waiter was overwhelmed trying to serve five tables simultaneously. You should refund the money. Grossly oversold. Shame on you. Not up to the Biltmore's standard (contrasted with the Inn's dinner the prior evening which was superb!) Worst part: I received a call prior to my arrival from an anonymous phone number by "Jack"...no last name furnished. I refused to answer questions from an unsolicited phone call by a first person name only. I paid more than $200.00 for a poor experience. I tipped the waiter nicely. He should not have to suffer...
We went to the Bistro for New Year's Eve dinner, and had an enjoyable evening. The service was pleasant, if not very knowledgeable, and the set menu was interesting and offered a variety of choices. The salad was fresh and the skate was nicely cooked, although neither had especially interesting flavors or seasoning. The portions were large, so we both skipped dessert. The wine was limited to the Biltmore Estate brand, which was quite ordinary. All in all, I would recommend the Bistro if you are already visiting the Biltmore, but it probably is not worth a special trip.
Had ages 4-62, and we all enjoyed ourselves. Food was great, service was outstanding.
Bery nice place.
Service was fantastic. Smyley was our server and he did a great job. The ribeye was so-so. The fried brussel sprouts were sooooo good! Antler Hill wine was outstanding.
The meal was awesome! The service was excellent. We had a very special and memorable dinner experience.
My husband and I had an excellent dinner at the Bistro during the Christmas season before our night time viewing of the house. Food was outstanding. Service was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was perfect for a nice dinner out.
It must have been something in the air this day because Bistro was the second restaurant we visited on our trip and it was equally as bad as the first restaurant. Usually, we have Bistro for lunch, whereas this time we had dinner. We blame our past lunch visits for our high expectations. Usually Bistro food is quite delicious, has multiple options to choose from and the atmosphere is slightly romantic and somewhat loud. This time however, the food options were slim and ALL awful. The food we did order was gross. The only saving grace here is that our waiter heard us rave about the pecan cranberry bread and how that was the sole reason we were there and he brought us a large to-go container of the bread. Other than that, it was awful. We will not be going back to Bistro for dinner.
Brussels sprout appetizer was fabulous as were bread, and steak & chicken entrees. Outstanding! Pork belly appetizer was just ok. We were delightfully surprised with complimentary anniversary truffles after dinner. The sauces and accompaniments with the entrees really elevate each dish. The chicken was absolutely the best I have ever eaten - that entree with squash, sweet potatoes, dried cranberries was actually the best entree I have ever had. Truly. Pricing is high but fairly commensurate with the quality. We will definitely be back!
To expensive for what you get and food was not good. We were greatly disappointed.
The Sunburst trout portion here was surprisingly large, not the small filet most fine restaurants offer, but three generous fillets resting on a delicious bed of kale, carrots and, best of all, white beans. My wife had a small meal, also very good, of French onion soup and two cheeses, the St Andre and boucheron. We each had a glass of a Biltmore wine, the rose for her and malbec for me. A quiet, intimate spot for an early meal before a night tour of the Mansion.
My fire roasted chicken was very good but my husband's steak was so tough he couldn't eat it. Much to expensive. Won't recommend.
Food and service were good, but the two different Biltmore wines requested - the Semillon and the Century white - were not available. How does that happen when the winery is across the sidewalk from the restaurant? That was a disappointment to us. Noise level was quiet and conversation was not affected.
The dining experience at The Bistro at Biltmore is always exceptional. This visit was no exception. The staff was extremely efficient at accommodating our party of 9 on a very busy December 26th! The service was warm and attentive. The food selections were varied and delicious. A lovely enjoyable meal with family in a wonderful location!
The service was great and the food was good, but the wine (Biltmore Estate) is overpriced and meh. It's convenient if you're staying on the Biltmore property, but otherwise I'd skip it. In the future, I'll dine at one of the many great restaurants in downtown Asheville.
Wonderful experience on Christmas night! Brandt, our server, was fantastic. She accommodated us in every respect...my wife being diabetic had special needs. The manager on duty was extremely friendly. The prime rib was the best I have ever had. The atmosphere wonderful. Highly recommend.
The limited Christmas menu was supposed to have leg of lamb which I was really looking forward to but the chef changed his mind at the last minute and served lamb chops, just not what I was expecting or wanted.
Although we've been to Biltmore numerous times this is our first time at The Bistro. We had a pre fixe menu on Christmas day and every thing from the appetizer to the dessert was outstanding. It was actually, I believe, the best food we've ever had at Biltmore. I'm normally disappointed by restaurant deserts but the ones here were delicious. Wish we would have dined here before now but have decided whenever we visit this will be the first restaurant we make reservations at. Hostess was also very polite and as busy as our server was she was efficient and friendly. Eating here should be on everyone's to-do list.
We have been coming to the Bistro for the last 11 years and have found it to be one of the best restaurants in Asheville...we always bring family and friends when they are visiting, We especially love Joe (server) when he is available...our server, Vanessa, Christmas day was delightful. Had a great time and we had a guest with us...she as well enjoyed the food and service too. A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE ........AS USUAL. Thank you.

My family and I had Christmas dinner.
The food was excellent.
The service, the ambiance were very good - exactly what I expect from Biltmore.
The only issue with the whole meal - the lobster was not cooked in the center, but it was edible.
The salad was fantastic and the desserts equally tasty.
Thank you for a good Christmas dining experience.
Beautiful location and ambiance. Our waitress, Julie, was kind, attentive and very professional. We will definitely be back!
The food was just average, and overpriced. Service was very good.
Bobby is the best waiter! The new menu and chef is outstanding ! We always enjoy the Bistro
Christmas Eve dinner! Lovely evening and great food and service
Best chicken dish I have had in along time
Wine was excellent
The staff was quite knowledgable and provided best service
