The Bistro - Biltmore Estate
The Bistro features contemporary American fare. Fresh, seasonal, and local ingredients are the focus on the dinner menu, which features premium steaks, impeccable mountain trout and seafood, poultry and lamb. Chef Brandon Pruett creates contemporary bistro-inspired recipes featuring estate–raised products and locally grown produce. Gardens on the estate produce a wide array of vegetables and fruits throughout the seasons, and our extensive pasture lands provide all-natural, hormone-free Black Angus beef and lamb.

Celebrated our anniversary. The food and service was exceptional!
We enjoyed a meal here with friends. Everything from service to food was delicious. Prices were a little high but considering where we were, average.
Top notch food. We are outside which was lovely- dining room a bit cold and has more of a steak house ambiance inside then a bistro- dark. Excellent service. High end pricing that is worth the price, just don't expect a bargain! Scallops done perfectly.
Food delicious, Bobby, our server was great! They were great about moving our reservation time as well...very accommodating!
The food is delicious! We go to the Biltmore 3-4 times a year and ALWAYS eat at the Bistro! We love the seasonal choices and the service is great!
We’ve been to the Bistro twice and both waitresses seemed arrogant. Not sure what’s going on with that. The steaks are perfect. The bread...eh. We go for the steaks.
Service was good. The trout was outstanding and a very large portion. Mussels were good but needed a richer broth, too bland. Prices were a little higher than they should have been.
Eaten here before. Service was excellent, expected for the pricing. This night however, the Caesar salad extremely dry, the steak very disappointing! I’ve had much better at the Outback. The French Onion soup was very good. Also, the restaurant was freezing cold which made our dining experience unpleasant. My sister and her husband (first timers) won’t be rushing back there for dinner. Will I eat there again, I will.
The service was outstanding and the food was good, but not great. Overall, I would have rated it very good if the value were better. The cost of our meal was very high for the quality and quantity received. I have no problem paying for high quality, but when we spend $200 for a meal for 2, I expect exceptional quality. I would like to say again that our server WAS OUTSTANDING, but the food was not.
Our server was very short, unpleasant. The food was underseasoned. At this price point I've never been disappointed, but sadly we were dispassionately let down. I will say all the food did seem of high quality, it was just executed very poorly. Almost seems whoever is on the meat prep line isn't tasting sauce or glazes. Bummer.
Amazing as always! Great food and service! Always look forward to visiting the Bistro.
We were seated promptly. The service was fast and efficient. The trout was excellent and I'm not even a fish lover. The veggie pasta was also good but my fav was the trout.
Great service, good food, will be coming back. Drinks were good, The cheese board was amazing, The lobster was good and the steak was perfect.
We ordered a Caesar salad--I've had much better Cesar salads many places. This one was just ordinary. I ordered a pasta and lobster dish. The pasta was dry--I would guess it was not freshly cooked. The dish was bland. My wife said her dish--trout, I believe, was good.
Comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, excellent service and best pecan encrusted trout ever!
Bobby was an outstanding waiter. Very attentive and knowledgeable. Had an extra little dessert for my daughters birthday!
Amazing steaks, friendly service! We visited in early May, so not crowded but a good atmosphere.
Amazing food, service outstanding and helped make our first trip to Biltmore so memorable.
Crystal the server was excellent. With no one in the restaurant so to speak, the hostess seated us on a walkway in front of the kitchen when there were very nice booths and back tables (out of the main walkway) . This seating was given a “poor”. Need to get hostesses that understand the customer experience. Also, we were the only ones in this isolated section and the hostess then seated a foursome right next to us while there was plenty of space for privacy. The foursome commented to us as to why we were positioned on top
If each other with so many tables and seating areas available.
Have eaten there in the past and feel that the quality has gone down.
Difficult to make an overall assessment for this meal. Food was well prepared. Seating was delayed because servers were late getting table preparations completed. Once seated, server was prompt in greeting us. However, that's about all this server did well. We had to ask for nearly everything to complement our meals. Once the main meal was completed, it took nearly twenty minutes for the server to realize it was time for dessert, which was part of the meal selection. Obtaining the check was another timely task. All of this was unusual for this restaurant. That's why we continue to recommend The Bistro to others. Another experience like this one would likely result in a different recommendation.
We were surprised at how expensive lunch items were. It's been awhile since we were there and we did talk about how the price of food in both restaurants and groceries had gone up. We ate on the patio - Bree was a great server and very attentive.
Joe was a fabulous server and while dinner took a pretty long time to get to us, it was really delicious once it arrived. We also overheard and altercation about a lobster that was exceptionally well handled by the manager staff. Also, after having spent the day outside for the most part it was a great place to rest and recharge from the day! I would highly recommend the bistro to those visiting the Biltmore, especially if you are looking for something more upscale but also more comfortable than the other upscale places on property.
Will definitely eat here again. Fresh baked breads, pastas, sauces were awesome.
I’ve dined at The Bistro many times, one of my favorite places on the Estate. The service and both are both top notch, truly an excellent example of the gracious hospitality provided at Biltmore! 5 stars across the board!
The staff was polite and went out of their way to make the evening enjoyable and special.
I enjoyed the experience save for the amount of food served. No way was I going to finish the plate full of food on my hungriest of times. Otherwise the visit was quite enjoyable....
Excellent, delicious food. Great service. Each entree in our group was wonderful. We will definitely go back!
This is our favorite restaurant on Biltmore Estate, and we look forward to eating there each year when we visit Asheville and stay at the Inn on Biltmore Estate. The menu is interesting and imaginative and always features local, fresh ingredients. The service is just about perfect each time. We like the cozy interior of the restaurant, right across from the Winery Gift Shop. Our table this time was positioned just across from the bar so we could watch the most efficient bartender opening bottles of wine and making cocktails for the servers to pick up and deliver to the various tables. The noise level is not too loud in the Bistro, which we greatly appreciate! We can actually converse comfortably with each other. There is no live music that we have ever encountered.
My husband and I are pass holders and have been since 1996. The highlight of our trip there is our dinner at the Bistro! We look forward to the delicious food and awesome desserts!!
Very nice, comfortable atmosphere, relaxed up upscale at same time
I have been to The Bistro hundreds of times. This may have been an off night. The menu is mediocre. I had a short rib that was dry. Food is over-salted. The waiter (new - i had never seen him before) was not as attentive as he should have been.
The Chef is relatively new.
Noisy - screeching children. Overpriced. If you are on Biltmore Estate, go to the Village Social instead.
On Biltmore Prperty. Convenient. Good food.
Excellent food and service. Everything is always good at the Biltmore!
Excellent boulabaise (sp?). Drinks good and top shelf. A bit pricey but most of Asheville seems pricey...
The Bistro is a nice place. However, the quality of the food was not worth the cost. We had filet and crabcake, with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and bearnaise sauce. The crabcake was good. The filet left a dry taste in our mouths, although it tasted good.
My guests enjoyed their food. I recommend the pecan crusted trout.
Delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. Would highly recommend on a trip to Biltmore
Food was very good and experience was as well very good
