i was so impressed with staff, food and atmosphere! thank you !
We were quickly seated at our reservation time and our server was very prompt. Food came out quickly and was excellent. The homemade bread with olive oil was a great way to start the meal.
Very good restaurant which we have been frequenting for over 20 years. We have a favorite table and often are served by our long tenured server, Julie.
Great food; wonderful service & ambiance. We will definitely return when at the Biltmore again.
The Caesar Salad was poorly made. Just romaine, a few croutons and salad dressing.
Should have included white anchovies and should have had shaved Parmesan cheese.
On a positive note my steak was perfect.
I would not return to the Bistro restaurant. The 50.00 beef filet was inedible. The fingerlings were undercooked, hardened. Filet so tough couldn’t swallow the only two cuts I tried to eat. The waitress did not ask why the plate was full or if I wanted the dinner boxed. I’m sure she knew the quality of meal was not to my liking.. just took the plate and brought the $100.00 check.
Very disappointed.. Edith and George Vanderbilt would not tolerate a meal as this from one of their restaurants!
Wonderful meal after a day of exploring Biltmore Estate. We had the Sea Bass and Scallop entrees. Both were fresh and delicious with creative flavor combinations and presentations. Server was professional and helpful with suggestions. Our favorite of the Biltmore restaurants.
It was so nice to dine in a restaurant that was elegant and not loud. Bobby, our waiter, was attentive and provided excellent recommendations. Cocktails were superb, soups hot and delicious, salad crisp and refreshing, entrees beautifully prepared and plated, wine pairing perfect, and dessert delectable. 20 year port to finish was divine. Happy Birthday to me!
The food at the Bistro is great. My husband loves their French onion soup!
Our waiter was excellent as was our meal. We had the filet and Maine lobster and crab linguine with wine pairings. Very pleased and will return!
The choice of selections was excellent. Best of all, I need gluten free options and there were many. I was so surprised that when bread and olive oil was brought to my son, the staff had also prepared me an appetizer with gluten free bread. The staff was very attentive and professional. Customer service at the Biltmore Estate is always superb. We are passholders at the Biltmore and always eat while there. This was our first time at The Bistro and we will be going back.
We have a very nice dinner. There were four in our party and everyone was happy with their dinner selection.
Excellent service and food. Pricey but a very nice experience with friends.
Wonderful experience from quality food to Bobby's service. Filets cooked as requested and sequence of service from start to finish was well timed. Very much worth it. But get your reservations early!
For all you foodies out there or just those looking for great food, give the Bisto at Biltmore a try. Excellence from starters to dessert. And special recognition to a server, Elaina. Not only great service but she remembered us from pre-covid dining at another restaurant on the property. Enjoy!
We started with the Prince Edward Island Mussels, which were delicious and we could have licked the bowl! I had the Sea Bass entree, which was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the lamb and was equally pleased. We had eaten here previously and I would say the food was on par but ambience and to some extent service was not quite the usual, which I attribute to COVID restrictions.
I was very surprised that my BLT had 2 small pieces of bacon only. Certainly not a good value. I've eaten at the Bistro before and have always been satisfied. Hoping this was a one-time issue.
Anniversary weekend. Nice meal HOWEVER someone did NOT put our gift certificate in correctly and charged us twice for the meal. This was an issue at another venue restaurant on Biltmore property. Detailed us greatly.
Very disappointed in the place. First we ordered $16 specialty Rose Gin drinks which were horrible. Basically a gin and soda. Appetizer was probably the best thing we had- fried Brie. Onion soup was all cheese. Scallops were good but the dish itself was flavorless. My husband got the crab and lobster pasta. It was horrible. Fishy. The lobster claw was so rubbery and dry it was not edible. Go somewhere else.
Although we were unable to give the staff advance notice about my husband’s birthday, they were able to still give him a special dessert. Our server, Elaina was fantastic! As always, the food was superb. It was wonderful to be back at the Bistro after over a year away!
Fabulous food and wonderful experience! It just keeps getting better!
Very popular restaurant and good service. Enjoyed it very much although lamb chops were just average. But everything else was great.
Love this restaurant but a bit disappointed in the food this visit. Cheese plate came with bread instead of crackers and was lackluster. Chicken in salad was very overdone. The blueberry cheesecake however made up for everything as it was outstanding! Hope they keep on dessert menu!
A decent dining option at the Biltmore. Service was great- food arrived quickly. The food was ok in flavor, but overpriced for the quality of the food.
Very good atmosphere, pleasant staff, and awesome food!!!
We always love going to the Bistro and Winery. It was our 50th anniversary and they had a lovely booth for us.
As always. Menu options were great. French onion soup a must. Prepared perfectly. Service awesome. The cheesecake superb.
Great food! Great service! Love the atmosphere! I can’t say enough how much I love this restaurant! We always eat here when in Asheville. It’s perfect for a date night, get together with girlfriends or family time. I have small children and the kids menu is the best! Elaina was our waitress twice now and she is the best!! Love love love!
I usually love the Bistro. I look forward to dining there every time we go to the Biltmore. This time I was very disappointed. The waitress forgot our salads and our dinner was brought first. We told her to just bring one since the dinner was already there. It had no flavor at all. It was like spring greens with olive oil on it. My dinner of the steak Frites was very average in both flavor and presentation. My husband had the lamb and loved it, however. So that was a bonus. Hopefully the next time we go I will love it like I usually do!
We had another wonderful dinner at the bistro. We had a great waitress and we were very pleased with our service. She was very knowledgeable about the menu. This is definitely a great place for a special occasion. It is a little pricey.
Outstanding meal for Easter Sunday and Bobby provided impeccable service. Rack of lamb on the menu made my day !
We went to the bistro for Easter. The service was great but our salmon was undercooked. Mine was sent back and I received a new piece of salmon. Now it was over cooked. I have never had any complaints about our food and we’ve been here many times. But the manager and our waitress were great. We were given a complimentary meal which was greatly appreciated. We will be back but I’m not sure I’d order the salmon.
excellent service with Brandi (?)
Easter lunch was exactly what we had hoped it would be
Amazing food, and great service! I am definitely coming back for a special dinner date with my wife.
Enjoyable but nothing special, nice after a long day sightseeing.
Service was slow but friendly. Food was bland and expensive for what it was.
For a $100+ per person meal I really expected more. If it had been $40 per person I might have felt better about the overall experience. I had the steak frites. It was good, but nothing to write home about. Way too many fries! And I thought it was overly salty. We started off with the French Onion Soup. Again...it was good, but there was nothing distinctive or special about it...maybe a couple chopped chives on top...just something to make it feel like it was more deserving of the price. We had the creme brulee for dessert and there was a special added tart atop that which made it for more unique. The ambience might have been affected by COVID restrictions although that should effect the wall decor and I just didn't find it very French bisto-esque.
Overall we had a very good evening. Our server Joie(or Joey not sure of spelling) was excellent and took very good care of us. I started with a savory meat and mushroom soup that was very good. I shared a bit of it with my wife who agreed with me on it and she really doesn't normally care for anything associate with mushrooms. She had the Wood-Fired Chicken and the dish was great. It's a large portion and could easily be shareable for lighter appetites. My wife took some back to the hotel for later. I had the trout and it was quite good. My wife had a Creme Brulee for dessert and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the Black Forest cake and didn't care for it at all. I found the description misleading( a layer approximately the thickness of the edge of a butter knife doesn't warrant being called Chocolate Ice Cream in my world) and the cake itself to be dry. Beware of that one. Overall we had a very good meal, with well above average service from everyone we came into contact with.
