The Bistro - Biltmore Estate
The Bistro features contemporary American fare. Fresh, seasonal, and local ingredients are the focus on the dinner menu, which features premium steaks, impeccable mountain trout and seafood, poultry and lamb. Chef Daniel Polk creates contemporary bistro-inspired recipes featuring estate–raised products and locally grown produce. Gardens on the estate produce a wide array of vegetables and fruits throughout the seasons, and our extensive pasture lands provide all-natural, hormone-free Black Angus beef and lamb.

The trout was dry and salty. The cauliflower soup was tasteless. Bless their hearts.
Great food. We waited 45 mins for our entrees Too long- but the food was excellent.
Perhaps we were just hungry; however, our meals this time were prepared perfectly (one chose chicken, the other, filet). Especially noteworthy on this visit was the quality of service. We were seated in the far back booth where it was quiet and comfortable. The server, recognizing it was a birthday celebration, treated us to a free birthday dessert plate. One never knows what experience to expect at the Bistro--dining may be average to very enjoyable. This time, for us, it was most enjoyable. Expensive? Can be depending on what you order as evening meals range from $20s to high $40s without beverages.
Service was okay. Food needs improvement.
My husband and I were not happy with the taste of the chicken and trout entrees. The French onion soup however was the bomb. We joined the wine club the same day and were super disappointed that the restaurant experience was not better!
Wonderful evening. I’ve been here many times before and has maintained its consistency as a nice venue for dinner.
Worst restaurant I’ve been to in 50 years. Over an hour to served, certainly the most noisiest restaurant I’ve been to. Actually had a very noisy cart of drinking glasses be rolled by our table twice-never seen that before in any restaurant. We ordered the special at 7p-it was already sold out. On the plus side we were comped on of the meals and the appetizers because it was cold when it finally came out. Manger was apologetic, but waiter was clueless,
Will not be going back, live in Asheville and be spreading the word
The burger was good, and the steak sandwich was okay. Nothing was spectacular about the meal or atmosphere. The most memorable part was unfortunately the pricing.
The Bistro is one of our favorites. Have never had anything other than excellent service and food. We usually plan it so we can stop by the wine club first and then walk across the breezeway and enjoy a wonderful dining experience at the Bistro.
One of several possible dining opportunities while on the Biltmore Estate grounds. The Bistro is one of 2 higher level restaurants. The menu includes several estate raised ingredients: fruits, vegetables or meats. Nice to know!
Tasty and filling. The bread basket had 3 selections, all excellent. The cranberry nut bread was especially good.
Temperature was on the cool side and even our waitress commented as such and apologized for something she had no control over.
Yes, we were tempted by and had desert !
Pricey but nice for special occasions!
THE PECAN TROUT WAS DELICIOUS. GREAT SERVICE. WE WILL DEFINITELY VISIT AGAIN.
Food was OK. Salad with beets and arugula was quite good. The pizza was average. Service was not great
Food was horrible. Won’t be going back.
The waitress was very efficient and friendly. My entree was very tasty and everyone else at our table enjoyed theirs as well.
Great for quick lunch. Glad to have the option
Our first night at the Biltmore. Perfect place to enjoy good food while recovering from travel.
This was even better than The Dining Room. AND half the cost. Great table on the patio. Husband had the salmon. I had the skirt steak. Both were superb. We had some yummy wine. This is a place that should be on your list to go if you are staying at the Biltmore. Would return here for dinner.
Always a great meal here!
Wine and beer selection was delicious. Fries needed to be cooked a little more (not very crispy). Server was pleasant. Added to our day at Biltmore.
Sit outside if you can. It's quiet and very pretty. The food was great and the service was too.
Dining at The Bistro was a very pleasant experience. Food and service were excellent. The ambiance was good. Only small glitch was when one of our party was a little late and was told by hostess that there was no reservation for her even though we had told the hostess that our 3rd person would be arriving shortly.
Nice dark wood ambiance (which I really like). Food was good. Service was fine. Part of Biltmore experience to try out the different restaurants on the property.
We look forward to ordering the Pecan Chicken Salad. Fantastic! Also, the Smoked Turkey sandwich is yummy. The mixed breads basket is a treat, too (especially when it contains the apricot flavor).
Very enjoyable experience. Julie was our waitress and was very good.
2 in our party of 4 returned their dish stating they could not eat it. This put a damper on our outing which had been planed for several months.
Smyly was a great server! He came and went at just the right time. Our glasses were full, our food was warm and the taste was 12/10. I would recommend anyone!
Bone in filet was fantastic!!
Spent $39 for a 6 ounce portion of tasteless fish. The time before had an inedible meal of steak frites, so over salted it had to be returned
I had eaten meals at the Bistro early summer, it was fine then, but taste and value have both gone way down.
We enjoyed our dinner outside. Bobby our server was wonderful! Very knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings. Our only issue was with the table next to us. There were 3 other guests who brought their 2 small dogs. They were obviously not service dogs and were in a stroller which was pushed up to the table. 3 of us are dog owners/lovers but this was a bit much.
The waitress was terrible. Not the quality that we expect from Biltmore. Did the bare minimum. Was rude and abrasive. It seemed like we were putting her out by dining there. Not what we would expect for a $200 dining experience.
Long awaited weekend for women friends.
Way over priced everything; $39 scallops? Red snapper was served that was grey, sad and inedible, embarrassing for the restaurant - if they cared, that is. This place is a revenue generator that apologizes for nothing and takes every dollar they can from unwitting customers. The chef should be embarrassed.
Outstanding food, world class and attentive service.
Excellent food and service
Might be worth the Annual pass price to Builtmore just to get to dine more often!!
We actually had both lunch and dinner there and all I can say is that the food was fabulous
We both loved our respective meals. We both did a steak night; mine was a wagyu strip steak, totally delicious. Salads also great, both beet and my farm salad. Excellent service from Bobby. We are local and are members, so I suspect we’ll be returning more often, although we enjoy Dining Room and Deerpark brunch as well.
Service great. Food good. Not a lot of selections. Expensive for what you get. Would like to see a better selection with a range of prices.
ribeye was tasteless and spinach was tough and chewy.
The food was mediocre and way overpriced! Seemed like just a tourist trap. Would not recommend it.
