The Bistro - Biltmore Estate
The Bistro features contemporary American fare. Fresh, seasonal, and local ingredients are the focus on the dinner menu, which features premium steaks, impeccable mountain trout and seafood, poultry and lamb. Chef Daniel Polk creates contemporary bistro-inspired recipes featuring estate–raised products and locally grown produce. Gardens on the estate produce a wide array of vegetables and fruits throughout the seasons, and our extensive pasture lands provide all-natural, hormone-free Black Angus beef and lamb.

Food was good, but not fantastic. Prices a bit high for the overall experience (~$45 for steak). We were next to the open kitchen, and it was distracting. We were also at the table next the the host station, and they kept coming to our table to look at what was available on the patio - it was really annoying. We felt like we were “in their way;” not the greatest impression to leave on someone spending close to $150.
Food was incredible. Wonderful cocktails - and they shared their recipe as well!
Never expected the complexity of flavors that we got in our smoked turkey and chicken salad sandwiches. Exceeded all expectations we had for bistro cuisine, particularly because of the “tourist” locale. Superb service from Krystal added to our enjoyment of lunch.
Good food and wine were delicious. Would highly recommend this Bistro restaurant to anyone!!
We had a wonderful dinner at the Bistro. The restaurant is very clean. Atmosphere is quite inviting! Food was excellent!
The food was good not great, the service was passable but sub par, the place was loud but not in a positive and fun way . None of the wines from the tasting were offered on the menu.. the overall value was poor.
This was definitely a WOW! Meal. Everything from the appetizer to the dessert- including a couple of homemade chocolate truffles with a side dish of Carmel corn with a "Happy Anniversary" message in chocolate to mark our special occasion- was wonderful. I talked my husband into trying the seafood bouillabaisse- delicious, while I ate the scallops- perfectly seared with a lovely crust on the outside and melt in your mouth on the inside.
Food was good but very expensive. Service was nice and the waitress are friendly.
Incredible restaurant where we ate lunch after a busy morning at the Biltmore Estate. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Not only was everyone sincerely friendly but the food was amazing. We were both impressed and ate there again today. The portions are large, the price is low and the people are very welcoming. We would recommend The Bistro to everyone and we already have.
Nice atmosphere and excellent food. We loved the fresh bread, salmon salad and the pizzas!
Bobby was a fantastic server: experienced, informed, efficient, and very personable. Our meal was well prepared & presented.
Server Vanessa was excellent. Food choices lacked flavor.
Bistro never fails to provide great service and excellent food! It was my wife's birthday and it was perfect - I had made reservations and ordered flowers from the local florist to be placed on the table prior to our arrival. Our table was perfect nice quiet corner where we could talk freely. The flowers were there just as I had requested and out server Joe was great! Food was excellent she and we had a great evening - Thank you Bistro -
This was a weekend date
Poor food and overpriced.
While the food was good, the service was not. It was very slow. We had to ask for bread, we had to ask to put our order in. While the waiter may have been giving us time to enjoy our wine he would disappear. The table next to us had the same problem and was given a 20% discount on their meal. The table we were seated at was way too close to the other tables and kept getting bumped into and a hostess almost broke a glass trying to remove it from a table while working around ours.
Food is always of high wuality and presentation. I enjoyed a veggie padta, and am very happy to see several veggie entrees now. We ate outside, and tho warm, was fine eith ceiling fan above.
My wife, daughter and myself had an excellent dinner at The Bistro. The staff was extremely nice. Parker, our waiter was outstanding, as we peppered him with questions related to Biltmore, and he did his best to respond or get us a response, he was a great sport. My wife had the scallops, which were perfectly seasoned and prepared. Our daughter had the bouillabaisse, the chef was nice enough to leave out the spicy roux. I had baked chicken, with the best mashed potatoes I have had in a long time. We each had dessert, all of which were delicious. Overall, a very nice dinner, would definitely recommend.
The food and service was great. We had reservations and we were seated right away even on a busy weekend. The price was a little more than I would typically pay for lunch but with the atmosphere and lovely Biltmore wine it was definitely worth every penny. We normally dine at Cedric's Tavern but I think my husband and I have found a new favorite!
Dinner again two nights later at the Bistro, also marvelous food. I had Salad, Baby Spring Greens: spinach, arugula, dandelion, toasted almonds, macerated strawberries, blueberry, elderflower and the Plancha Seared Filet with roasted baby Yukon Gold potatoes, grilled asparagus, brandied mushrooms, and sauce Bordelaise. My husband had the Char-Grilled 1855 Rib Eye with roasted baby Yukon Gold potatoes, grilled asparagus, brandied mushrooms, and sauce Bordelaise which he thought was overcooked. My filet was rare as I requested and was absolutely delicious as was my salad.
A little pricey for the menu, but food was great, and service well done.
Outstanding service and delicious dinner of Short Ribs, and a dinner of the chicken course. Good salads, but did thought the meat and cheese board was below expectation
Our hostess was friendly, attentive, and offered suggestions which were greatly appreciated. It was a great lunch.
Dinner at the Bistro was delicious. I had Baked French Onion Soup with melted Gruyere and provolone and Plancha Grilled Scallops: cauliflower aligot, wild mushroom duxelle, preserved lemon haricot vert, and crispy pancetta while my husband also had the Baked French Onion Soup and Bouillabaisse: mussels, clams, shrimp, fish, tomato saffron broth, grilled baguette, rouille. The soup was exceptional as were my scallops.
Small menu overpriced for average food quality. The bar help were very friendly
Great lunch. Good menu choices. Highly recommend. Highly enjoyed
We started with the mussels, and they were absolutely delicious. The fire roasted chicken was under seasoned, but the whipped potatoes and fava beans were perfect with the Benton’s bacon.
Great service and great food! The price was a little high but we still really enjoyed ourselves!
Celebrated our anniversary. The food and service was exceptional!
We enjoyed a meal here with friends. Everything from service to food was delicious. Prices were a little high but considering where we were, average.
Top notch food. We are outside which was lovely- dining room a bit cold and has more of a steak house ambiance inside then a bistro- dark. Excellent service. High end pricing that is worth the price, just don't expect a bargain! Scallops done perfectly.
Food delicious, Bobby, our server was great! They were great about moving our reservation time as well...very accommodating!
The food is delicious! We go to the Biltmore 3-4 times a year and ALWAYS eat at the Bistro! We love the seasonal choices and the service is great!
We’ve been to the Bistro twice and both waitresses seemed arrogant. Not sure what’s going on with that. The steaks are perfect. The bread...eh. We go for the steaks.
Service was good. The trout was outstanding and a very large portion. Mussels were good but needed a richer broth, too bland. Prices were a little higher than they should have been.
Eaten here before. Service was excellent, expected for the pricing. This night however, the Caesar salad extremely dry, the steak very disappointing! I’ve had much better at the Outback. The French Onion soup was very good. Also, the restaurant was freezing cold which made our dining experience unpleasant. My sister and her husband (first timers) won’t be rushing back there for dinner. Will I eat there again, I will.
The service was outstanding and the food was good, but not great. Overall, I would have rated it very good if the value were better. The cost of our meal was very high for the quality and quantity received. I have no problem paying for high quality, but when we spend $200 for a meal for 2, I expect exceptional quality. I would like to say again that our server WAS OUTSTANDING, but the food was not.
Our server was very short, unpleasant. The food was underseasoned. At this price point I've never been disappointed, but sadly we were dispassionately let down. I will say all the food did seem of high quality, it was just executed very poorly. Almost seems whoever is on the meat prep line isn't tasting sauce or glazes. Bummer.
Amazing as always! Great food and service! Always look forward to visiting the Bistro.
