The Bistro at Marshdale Ratings and Reviews
The Bistro is consistently fabulous...the food is delicious, the setting is serene and calm and the staff is lovely. Our most recent visit was for the Prime Rib Friday Night Special and our entire table agreed that it was some of the best prime rib in recent memory! Don't get me started on the delicious desserts....and ooooohhhh....the fresh baked bread and oil....it's all just wonderful!!!
The food was delicious, the staff was very friendly and efficient, we weren't kept waiting even though it was Valentine's day and the place was crowded. Overall it was a very good experience. The atmosphere could use a few touch ups, and it was very brightly lit, but that's my only complaint. They also had lots of gluten free options.
The Bistro provided fairly good food in a cozy, rustic atmosphere. The Manhattans were below average; they tasted as though they lacked vermouth, and were very small. Though we requested them served with one ice cube, there was no ice in them. The brussels sprout "salad" was not cold as expected, but warm brussels sprouts with bell peppers. Not bad, but not what we expected and not really a salad. The duck confit was average, nothing special. The crab legs were very good, cut in half lengthwise so easy to eat. Our server was friendly, but slow and perhaps overwhelmed by the Valentine's Day crowd. It was a nice spot for where we were staying in Evergreen, but we would not go out of our way to eat here again.
Went to the bistro for an early valentines day dinner. We had an absolutely wonderful time—great food, wonderful service, and a cozy lovely place to celebrate. I loved the mustard and honey glazed salmon and my husband thought the seafood pasta was top-notch—one of our favourite places now!
Fourth visit. Special occasion. Always seems noisy, which detracts from quaint ambiance. Have ordered most items from dinner menu; all have been very good for the most part. This last visit, one of the ordered items was Parmesan Chicken. Chicken was excellent. The pasta was al dente, but the sauce reminded us of Chef Boyardee. We will return for sure. Would recommend to others, but with qualification.
Second time we’ve been there and both times were fantastic. Food is good, wait staff is excellent - fun and friendly. Pace of the meal was excellent. A little pricey so we go there occasionally, not regularly. The food is priced, however, appropriately for what we got. We will definitely be back.
As always we had a wonderful time at the Bistro. We go there frequently with friends who live nearby. The food was great as always and the service was perfect. She took the time to explain the specials and offered a great wine recommendation. We always look forward to eating at the restaurant.
Excellent service, very pleasant waiter and table server. The menu had many offerings which made choosing a selection difficult. One of our party members had the steak and lobster, the lobster done to perfection, another the portobello mushroom and I had the pot roast which was excellent. The only negative is I am not a fan of the small porch but my mistake in not asking for a table in the main dining room.
The wine list is excellent and priced very fairly.
Everyone was very happy with the service and quality of the meal.
