Very disappointed in the food . I have been here many times could have gotten better at a chain restaurant for a lot less. Air conditioner either broke or not turned on very uncomfortable. We will not be back and will tell all our friends and family.
We had a lovely meal, celebrating Father’s Day. Our server was at the top of her game. Salads were excellent with just the right amount of a very lightly flavored dressing. Entree was great (we shared family style lasagna). Two annoyances that really diminished our enjoyment of our meal: a housefly (eeeeyew) that kept dive-bombing our plates and our wine glasses and the threesome at an adjacent table that were unfamiliar with the concept of indoor voices. That wouldn’t have been so bad if the tables weren’t so annoyingly close. Based on the topics they discussed, they really should practice lowering the volume or maybe consume fewer glasses of the lovely wines.
Had a great time. Our server (Dan) made sure we had everything we needed. We celebrated Father's Day. My grandson (5) enjoy his kids meal which wasn't the traditional chicken fingers. We will be going back.
The only negative - I had called weeks in advance / at that time, the loft was available for 2:00 / someone callled after I had reserved it / they wanted it for eight people at 2:30 / had I rec'd a call, we could easily have switched to a 12:30 - 1:00 reservation, leaving enough time for us to enjoy our meal and the wait staff re-set the area for the 2:30 seating
HAD NEVER BEEN TO THIS DESTINATION LOCATION AND WAS OVERLY IMPRESSED WITH THE ENTIRE FACILITY. RESERVED A TABLE FOR A FATHERS DAY CELEBRATION AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. KYLIE OUR WAITRESS WAS FABULOUS GIVEN HER BOAT WAS FULL ON THIS PARTICULAR DAY. THE AMBIANCE HERE IS OF 5 STAR QUALITY AND THE FOOD HOT - BEAUTIFULLY PLATED AND DELICOUS. TRULY AN AMAZING DAY FOR US AND OUR FATHER!!!
Beautiful location but food was just so-so to be honest. We had Father’s Day dinner here . Food was average nothing special. Too expensive for such food.
My husband and I visited the Bistro for our anniversary. The atmosphere was very nice and romantic. The service was awesome and the food was amazing!
We had the family style for two rack of lamb dinner platter. Awesome taste! However being family style we thought the portions were a bit small. They provided a complimentary dessert for our anniversary which is why we were dining out.
It’s a Beautiful location! Sits along a small lake with outdoor seating. It’s a three story converted barn. Very lovely. That’s why it’s on the pricey side. I’ve already recommended it to others.
Excellent all the way around!
This has become my favorite restaurant. The food and wine is always delicious and every member of the service staff is outstanding! I always feel welcomed and special. The timing of the courses is perfect, never rushed, so you are able to actually relax and enjoy the experience. The grounds/flowers are beautiful and well maintained and the restaurant is very clean. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Always Love coming here. Staff is always friendly and food is awsome
Ever since the first time I went there it has been my favorite place to go. The atmosphere and the wait staff are absolutely wonderful.
It was no special occasion, but nonetheless, it was made special by the bistro. Our first time there and we will definitely take other friends out to dine at Gervasi's. Good food, excellent waitress, and all around great.
Overall, our dining experience was very good. We (3 couples) celebrate our June anniversaries at a special restaurant each year. This year , we chose Gervasi's and we're not disappointed. Our server Dan was great. He was very helpful with the menu and specials. He also surprised us with a beautiful anniversary treat created by the pastry chef.
We enjoy all of the restaurants (Bistro, Crush House and Twisted Olive) and hope to continue dining there for many years.
Ask to reserve a table by the large window. Service was very friendly and knowledgeable. We will return
Delicious food, prepared the way it is supposed to be. Well seasoned and a good amount of food for the price and quantity. Service was Outstanding. Chef came out to congratulate us on our 50th Anniverssary. Did not rush you and even invited us to stay after dinner. Overall a great meal with great service. Our compliments to the chef and our server.
This was our first visit to Gervasi and hopefully, will not be our last. The Bistro was superb. I would describe it as a customer centered experience. Not only was our waiter, Nick, friendly and knowledgeable, but the food was absolutely delicious. The staff is willing to make any and all dietary accommodations that you may require. I would enthusiastically recommend the Gervasi experience to anyone.
Birthday dinner. Guests and family attended, they all will return.
The wait staff needs training. We notified Gervasi in advance that we were celebrating an anniversary. While the food was excellent and the ambiance very nice, our experience was a head scratcher:
1) We were seated at a table that looked directly down a stairwell. I guess it wasn't terrible, but I would think for customers celebrating an anniversary they would choose a better location.
2) We had to refill our own wine glasses throughout the course of the meal. Again, not terrible, but every high end restaurant that I've ever been to the waiter refills the glasses. I even left my empty wine glass in plain view on several of his stops as a test, and he never refilled.
3) We ordered dessert, and the waiter showed up with not only our dessert but another dessert compliments of the restaurant in honor of our anniversary. Um, okay, a very nice gesture but awkward (and bloating). The waiter should have told us at the time of ordering that there was a complimentary dessert, or instead of filling our order bring out the complimentary dessert as a surprise and then ask us if we still wanted our ordered one.
4) We inquired about ordering a bottle of wine vs by-the-glass, as a bottle would have been too much whereas by-the-glass may not have been enough. The waiter told us that they routinely recork bottles and that by buying a bottle we could take the leftover home with us. Great. So we ordered a bottle. The waiter never showed up or offered to cork our remaining wine. There were only 2-3 inches left, so we didn't bother reminding him to have it corked but one would think for something done routinely he would have remembered it and proactively recorked the bottle.
None of these issues are serious blunders, just very odd for a high end restaurant. I rarely write reviews, but at Gervasi's price point and those seeking a nice restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, I'd only give it 3 stars.
Beautiful venue, the food was fantastic - Sunday's they have 'family style' (at least 2 people) where you share a few entrees...excellent opportunity to try new things! Our waitress Maggie did a fantastic job :)
Maggie was a wonderful server. It was our 18th Anniversary & we were thrilled we chose Gervasi to celebrate it there. The evening was perfect!
Our server was fantastic! He was very personable and engaged with us. Thank you for making it a fun birthday celebration.
We eat at Gervasi on a regular basis. The food is always great and the whole property is gorgeous. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and great to deal with. It’s a local favorite I am always recommending!
We sincerely appreciated and enjoyed the whole experience. Our server had such a pleasant personality. She was very helpful and efficient. Our compliments to the chef because the food was excellent!!!! It was our first visit to Gervasi Vineyard. We will definitely recommend it to our friends & family. We will return because everything was first rate. Thank you for a perfect evening 👏
This was our first time dining at Gervasi. The food was unlike anything I’ve had in the region...every dish we tried was beyond delicious with quality ingredients and superb presentation. The service, however, was less than ideal. Our waitress seemed to forget about us many times throughout the dining experience. We were also seated directly behind a rowdy bachelorette party, which was not the vibe we were hoping for as we celebrated our first wedding anniversary. Despite these disappointments, the food and the sheer beauty of Gervasi made for an overall lovely dining experience.
Atmosphere was amazing! Great place for a special occasion . Menue is on the pricey side but the taste and presentation was excellent! Our server was very attentive to our needs and very well informed . This was my birthday celebration with my wife and dad from Florida and I will most likely return for our anniversary.
Reservation was for 8pm and never received a table for four. They were overbooked and we were forced to share a large table with other couples.
Everything was perfect: the food, ambience, and service. We would highly recommend The Bistro to anyone looking for great food and wine!!
The Bistro was an awesome dining experience on our trip to Eastern Ohio for a wedding. So happy I found this gem during our stop in Canton. My husband enjoyed a traditional Italian dish of Bolognese. What a hearty dinner with 8 oz of meat! It was outstanding. I enjoyed my fillet, done to perfection. The service was outstanding, and atmosphere quite enjoyable. If ever in the area again, we will definitely return for dinner, wine tasting, and relaxing by the pond.
Gervasi has good food, our waitress was fabulous! Was a nice place for our group to celebrate our wedding anniversaries. Although the weather was a bit chilly, it is nice to know they have car shows every Wednesday evening that you can stroll through.
Great place for a special occasion!! Service and food was amazing. It’s me and my boyfriends favorite spot
This was a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant for lovers of life. The food was a celebration for my palette. The different textures and taste from every delicious bite to bite. Our waitress Christina was superb. I would advise you to ask for her. Christina will guide you through your first time as if you were family. The scenery was breathtaking, from the inside of this rustic barn to the swans swimming in the Gervasi lake outside. Did I mention the delicious wines they have. All in all great value and worth every penny. The Bistro at Gervasi ‘s Vineyards. 5 stars.
Wonderful service and atmosphere. Very Romantic!
The restaurant was gorgeous and the food was delicious !! Gervasi winery as a whole is one of the best wineries I have ever been to. The atmosphere, the water, the villas.... everything is so perfect. Can’t wait to go back :)
Great food and service!
Great food with great service. We were in town for a family wedding and stumbled upon the place. Recommend to anyone looking for a pleasant sit down dinner with a great ambiance.
One half of the air conditioning was out of service and that put a dent in the enjoyment of the meal, since it was warm and muggy outside. Very good and creative fig/soft cheese salad. I had a chunky piece of salmon that was prepared well but lacked distinctive flavors. The dicing of the Brussel's sprouts into sort of a slaw was unexpected--I would have preferred whole sprouts with some sort of grilled flavor.
In retrospect, if I were running the place, I would have offered Bistro customers lacking air conditioning the opportunity to go out on to the patio to eat, even though the patio was a different "venue".
Overall, a solid experience especially in the context of attractive buildings, patios, and grounds. No knock on Gervasi, but my truly memorable dining experiences in terms of dish creativity and unique flavors are few and far between. My favorite meals of all time were at the now-closed Grovewood Tavern in Cleveland's Collinwood neighborhood.
Very attentive wait staff. Had 2 specials. Very well prepared. Our favorite place.
