The Bistro at Gervasi Vineyard Ratings and Reviews
The pork loin dinner was amazing. The server also brought us a complimentary dessert in honor of our anniversary, which was a pleasant and delicious surprise! I was slightly disappointed with the plastic bottles of flavored tea that we were served for our drinks as the vending style bottles seemed out of place in such an elegant atmosphere and table setting. We had a lovely view of the snow covered lake and villas in the distance. My husband had the filet minion and it was cooked perfectly. He found the mashed potatoes to be rather bland, like instant potatoes, although they were made at the restaurant. I look forward to going back for another romantic dinner in the future.
Great spot for a belated holiday get-together with friends. Server Stacy was very thorough with descriptions of both the wine list and food menu. We tried a little of everything - pierogies, beet salad, baked brie salad, salmon, short ribs, filet, sea bass, and wine flights - and found everything to be well prepared and delicious. We look forward to dining on the patio in better weather!
The food was wonderful. I loved my ginger salmon. Wine was delicious also. The only problem we had was that the bread was rock hard. It wasn’t an issue for me, because I like to save my appetite for the main course, but it would have been nice to have fresher bread.
Other than that, service and ambiance was exceptional!
My fiancé and I had a wonderful date night at The Bistro! It was our first visit and our dinner was fantastic. The pork loin was smoked to perfection and we both enjoyed some GV craft beers. Our server was great - she walked us through the menu, gave recommendations, and was very friendly and timed our courses well. We will definitely be back!
We had an excellent meal, with wine and dessert. The bistro was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and the ambiance was great. Dan, out server did a fine job, and was attentive to our needs. We will certainly return for both indoor, and outdoor dining. Gervasi's is a gem in the Canton area.
We have been going to Gervasi for several years and have always thought it was a wonderful place. I don't know if it was because it was New Year's Eve (although we have been there for New Years Eve before) but the fish special was not cooked good. 3 people at our table ordered it and all of us only ate half. It was tough and overcooked. I was very disappointed in my meal. I hope this is not going to be the norm of a downhill slid of the restaurant.
We always enjoy our visit at Gervasi. Everything about it is wonderful. We have stayed in one of the villas and felt like we were in a luxury hotel on vacation. It’s hard to believe we have a place like this so close to home. We always bring our out of town visitors and they always want to come back when they return. Happy New Year!
Our server was very knowledgable, she went above and beyond for our dining experience, and she politely corrected a glass of wine that was different than ordered. The wine and food were both great! My mom’s birthday was very pleasurable for the six of us that dined at Gervasi, we will definitely return!
We enjoy the Bistro at Gervasi for special events, and have done so since they opened. The food is excellent and the service is always top-notch; the wait staff know the menu inside and out. My only quibble was that the Salmon dish was a little bland--very well prepared, but I was hoping for a little more flavor. My wife just raved about the braised short ribs, one of Gervasi's specialties. One little taste showed me why. The pasta dishes are always good bets, too. One tip: if it's a romantic special occasion, request seating in the wine cellar; it's much quieter there.
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and great wine, celebrating our anniversary. The only thing we weren't happy about was we were cold...that is obvious since it was only in the single digits outside and this is in a renovated old barn. As an added surprise, we received a complimentary anniversary dessert with a beautifully presented "Happy Anniversary" message in chocolate.
This was a family get together two days ago and we enjoyed our experience as usual. We found ourselves in a lovely vaulted room, originally used for storing barrels of wine. Because it was off to the side away from a larger room it was relatively quiet, but the noise level was never a serious problem at Gervasi. We are not hard to please and thankful for a great place to go in the Canton area!
Have been there many times with excellent food/service and has always been one of my favorite places. This occasion the service was terrible - forgot some of our food, waited for food more than 30 minutes after ordering, was told twice they were plating food, which you would expect hot food, but the food was lukewarm and cold, which made it inedible. Staff knew there were problems, as they offered us free dessert, but half of our party do not eat dessert. Certainly not up to standards from previous visits, and certainly not worth what we spent for dinner and drinks. Also sat next to a window on a very frigid evening, and there was a cold draft for the 2 guests who sat near the window.
Loved the ambiance and the view. The food was amazing, but the service was slow, there was confusion on who was waiting on our table. No too happy when i went to pay she wouldn't accept my visa gift card which is one of the reasons I came to Gervasi. That was for my Christmas dinner with my children. Had I known we wouldn't have eaten there. I have never had a restaurant not accept my Visa gift card before, embarassing.
This was our 6th Christmas celebration with our adult children at Gervasi. We make it a festive occasion and dress up! We look forward to it every year. This year we were very very disappointed! Our waiter was inattentive and quite talkative at every table making service extremely slow. The appetizer dishes were never removed, empty wine bottles were left and water refills were far and few between . Our 2 sons ordered the Fettuccine Del Mar and the lobster was over cooked and the portion was small. My Bronzini was over cooked, had bones and was swimming in sauce. Our bread wasn't refilled without having to ask. For dessert I has the Apple Bread Pudding and it was burned on top We were never offered coffee with dessert. We had a 6:30pm reservation and didn't leave the restaurant until 9:30pm! For a total cost of $365 (2 credit cards used) that included tip, we expected so much more. Needless to say, we will be choosing another restaurant for next year's celebration.
I'm a wine enthusiast; that being the case the wine selection was fine. Nothing extraordinary but nothing bad, the food menu however left a bitter taste in my mouth. Over priced and the menu was extremely limited. For what I paid we could have fed my family for a week and the only thing that was delicious was our appetizer. The staff was great but I would not come back or recommend; not to mention even though they knew it was our anniversary they put us in the basement by two groups. After moving upstairs the noise level was fine but just for them even putting two people on a date by two groups of 8 or more was a bad idea.
The cuisine is always wonderful and the wine top notch but the venue and the exceptionally well-trained staff truly sets Gervasi's apart from everyone else. We had the privilege of being served by Tara who made our dining experience just perfect. Thank you Tara - you're a gem and made the celebration of my Mother's 95th birthday even more special.
The food and ambience was great. The service was exceptional. The person tending to us was very attentive to our needs and took her time to listen intently( don't see that much these days!) . It was my wife's birthday and I had requested a small pastry/cake. They brougt out a beautiful plate with the wordings in chocolate sauce. It made my wife's day
