'The Bison Restaurant' is committed to using regional, seasonal and Canadian ingredients. Our intimate dining room has windows on all sides, with Banff's best mountain views, and large sunny terrace. Watch as a brigade of chef's prepare your meal in our open concept kitchen led by executive chef Kyle Nelson.
The Bison is open daily from 5pm with brunch served on Sunday's from 10am until 2pm.
Children are welcome and reservations are recommended.

A wonderful gem in Banff. Upscale casual feel. Very comfortable and classy ambiance. Friendly and professional service. Delectable dishes, excellent selection of wines. Perfect for a date or special occasion.

Nice restaurant, lovely eclectic menu. Small plates were yummy. Tried the bison short ribs and found the meat rather tough (?not slow cooked enough?). Wine selection good but excessive markup. Waiter good but tended to push expensive items and was not very warm.

I loved the appetizers and desert. Great vegetarian options. My husband found there were too many toppings on his burger. 7 dollars for tea was a little much, but still tasty.

All the criticism of recent reviews was accurate. Although the service was excellent, the portions were extremely small (especially for the cost) and the appetizer and mains came out one on top of the other, feeling rushed. We ordered cocktails and neither of them were enjoyable. The description of my drink in the menu was not accurate (described as though it would be sour and citrus but was actually quite syrupy and overly sweet). The dessert was completely fine but not redeeming enough. Our server was absolutely lovely and the ambience was nice but I would not go back.

We were disappointed. The food is pricey and mediocre at best. Same for the dull wone list. My group is well traveled and quite knowledgable about food and wine. We were all expecting a fantastic meal but everything came up short.
With an open kitchen with a pricey menu you would expect professional chefs not the kids texting as they leaned over their stations. It is clear that who ever owns this restaurant lacks the leadership to make this a great eating establishment.

My husband and I had dinner here after a day skiing at Sunshine Mt. While visiting Banff. We loved the food, the entertainment of the open kitchen and our server was excellent!

After enjoying a number of sharing plates (small portions), we expected the entrees to be small as well. NO need to order extra entrees as those portions are reasonably large. Disappointed the server didn't explain that the appetizer items we ordered came in multiples of '3' (example; 3 dumplings), whereas we were a party of 4. He apologized and asked if we'd like to 'double-up our orders', Still doesn't resolve the issue.

Excellent restaurant. The online reservation seemed to provide limited options however, that weren’t reflected when we were there (many tables were free even though online they said they were full). I recommend calling to reserve - you’ll likely get more choices.

Excellent food with a Canadian focus. Really enjoyed the bison shortrib. Large portion, creative presentation on a big rib bone. Nice wine list, although not overwhelming.
