Permanently Closed - The Bent Brick is housed in an iconic ivy covered brick building in a quirky and laid back section of Slabtown, nestled between the Pearl District and NW 23rd. The Bent Brick offers an exceptional experience, including house butchered roasts and steaks, homemade pasta, scratch sides and charcuterie as James Beard Nominee Scott Dolich sees it. Cocktails and libations are crafted entirely from domestic suppliers. Sixteen wines on tap are sourced exclusively from small producers in Oregon and Washington. Hostess was rude. Even though the place was mostly empty at an early hour on a Tuesday, she would only seat us in the most uncomfortable table right next to the galley. Once we saw there were only 4 entrees on the menu (none of which really seemed that exciting) we decided to walk out and dine elsewhere.

Bent Brick likes to switch up their menu which is great, but you'll find yourself missing some favorites from the last visit. Not inexpensive, but worth for a special occasion.

Food was just ok and dessert was downright meh. I love the idea of this restaurant, though, and I'm sure that some of the seasonal dishes are exceptional. Our party of 6 just didn't find any of the ones we tried worth seeking out again.

Beans in the mussels were totally delicious (as was everything, but that was a nice suprise). Kid friendly without dumbing down the food, which is great.

Dined as part of Portland Dining Month... Food was ehh, highs and lows. Although courses were very slow and 2 of 3 entrees were luke warm. Cocktails were excellent and imaginative. Doubtful we will return for full price dining.

The food was excellent and the drinks always superb. We were there on a Friday night and the place was packed. There were only 2 servers and one of them was the bartender. It took a while to get our food but worth the wait.

Lots of places serve mussles, but BB does them very well. The short ribs were as tender as any I've ever eaten - scrumptious! A taste treat in an area with good parking ... what more can you ask for?
