The Belvedere at The Peninsula Beverly Hills Ratings and Reviews
Very disappointed. They no longer serve different flavors of butter with the bread. Ordered branzino. It was so bland and tasteless, so much so, that I had to keep asking for more lemon. The veal chop was mediocre and expensive for what we got. Ceasar salad was fair, even though they rave that it is their signature salad. Carrots and cauliflower were good. Ambiance in the outside patio was beautiful.
We have eaten there many times, but the quality has gone done and is still very expensive.
Pleasantly surprised. Since it was easy to get a reservation, in a hotel, and only half full when we arrived, I feared it would be a terrible experience. It was the opposite. It was a beautiful night so we sat at a table outside. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. They made my complicated drink order perfectly. The wine list was great. And the food was surprisingly good. Much, much, better than the much touted Wolfgang Puck restaurant at the Bel Air Hotel. That restaurant was a disaster in every respect. It's hard to understand why people are not flocking to this restaurant.
Wonderful Dinner on my wife's birthday! Two Mr. Z Mediterranean Market Salads (really good). Grass-Fed Lamb Tagine, Lobster Bouillabaisse, Oven-Roasted Cauliflower, with a Bottle from Wine Bin #130. Baked Alaska, Faberge Egg, and Coffee. We loved everything -- food, service, and ambiance. The Belvedere at the Peninsula has always been special for my wife and me -- try it and it will be special for you!
Our server was lovely, but inattentive. We had to flag her down several times. Our guests were getting irritated. Not fond of the new menu, but it is better than the family style service of the former restaurant. My husband thought it was overpriced. Having said that, the Dover sole was outstanding!
The renovations to the restaurant have been done very tastefully. I sat on the patio, very clean, quiet, nice heaters outside and a bit of sun too.
Service very good and attentive to detail.
Breakfast, love the Bircher Muesli, a real treat.
Easy to park on street meters and the hotel has a great feel of luxury without being snobby or pretentious.
Lovely ladies lunch ! It was made very special by our server Sergio and Chef David stopped by to say hi! We enjoyed fabulous black tea -the Tahitian vanilla and the earl grey were very elegant. The sea bass(meagre) and branzino entrees were lovely, and the mussels delicious! The kabocha squash gnocchi was fantastic!
We didn't have room for dessert but Sergio gave us a preview of the faberge egg dessert- we will definitely return to enjoy more menu offerings - the pasta and more sea food offerings looked so great! Thank you again!
Very classy ambiance. Great for special occasions. Attentive service. Beautiful entry through hotel. Excellent food with creative touches. Lots of fish options. Some tasty wines by-the-glass from places not often featured. Perfect place for Christmas Eve dinner.
Not as good as it used to be. We use this restaurant as a special occasion place--especially for brunch because the room is so pretty during the day. And normally it's everything you'd want from a fancy place. Impeccable service and amazing food. This time, not so much. We were waiting at the entrance for quite a few minutes--there didn't seem to be a host or hostess. A waiter finally came and sat us. The service was minimal. And the quality of the food was just okay. It used to be that there wouldn't be a bad piece of fruit on the plate. And this time, the fruit salad was hard and bland melon. Our son got pancakes and they were so chewy they were hard to cut. The room is still lovely and maybe it was an off day, I'd try it again, but it didn't feel like it used to.
We were celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary and it was a FABULOUS evening from beginning to end. We had a excellent table, Angela, the hostess, was welcoming, gracious, and friendly and our Server, Khalia was Superb. Our entire meal was AMAZING. We're already planning on going for Christmas Brunch. We spoke w/the Mgr. (Ramone) as we were saying good-night and he was completely charming, gracious and personable too. I cannot thank the Belvedere enough for a beautiful, memorable, deliciously scrumptious 16th Anniversary celebration.
Thank you so much.
The very best "traditional Cobb salad" in the city. The ambiance is always perfect, even when all tables are full. Waiters are competent and unobtrusive. The decor is elegant but simple. The new dessert menu is unusual and inventive. I ordered a Faberge egg just to see what it looked like!
I was hoping for so much more. While the new room looked inviting in a country French way, the elegance was missing. Not enough wait staff on the patio on a busy Sunday night. Limited wine choices and was unable to explain difference between fish on menu and fish special for evening. Faberge egg was unique and well done.
I thank my friends at The Belvedere for their consistent, distinguished service, which continues to ensure that the restaurant provides the best Sunday Brunch in Los Angeles. The kind staff, delicious cuisine, and variety of choices make for an outstanding brunch that cannot be matched by any other institution.
