My wife and I had a wonderful time on her birthday. Service was attentive and pleasant. Food was consistently excellent. The birthday dessert was beautifully decorated. The dining room was busy yet quiet enough for a nice conversation. Terrific service by all.

Sunday brunch is amazing - high end/free flowing champagne with incredible 3 course brunch. Top quality all the way. Incredible waitstaff.

Oyster dish lacked flavor, Filet was delivered medium well instead of medium rare, but the cut was so good I really did not mind and decided to keep it.

After celebrating my birthday with dinner at the Belevedere on the 4 Nov. , I have again come to the conclusion that this restaurant is unequivocally the finest and most elegant dining experience in LA . In a world of repetitive , ordinary , and overpriced chain restaurants , what a breath of fresh air the Belvedere is . It is however, a place meant for civilized diners who like to dress well, be treated like royalty , and do not want a " scene " where one must shout to communicate . The food , the ambiance , and the service rival any of the other great dining rooms of the world , AND at every meal they serve .

The food was excellent, the location was ideal as we stayed at the hotel, but the service was beyond all expectation! We went for our 15th anniversary and the staff treated us as if it were our "regular" Friday night dinner spot! We could not have asked for a better experience!

We were actually there for the Saturday noon tea in "The Living Room' but its not listed on open table separately. Great atmosphere, great service with the typical tea finger sandwiches, champagne and desserts. pricey but great for special occassions.

If you go for the ambiance, this is the restaurant. The service was excellent and the food outstanding. It was a delight to get away from the noisy restaurants for a change and be served with class.

The Peninsula tea has always been a favorite of mine with the best sandwiches out of all the hotels. I liked the sandwiches and scones a lot but the desserts were mostly too rich and too similar. A few simple cookies or a regular chocolate dessert would be good. I noticed I wasn't the only one in our group that left most of the dessert behind. Service was excellent, ambiance was great.

Our whole experience there was sullied due to a group that had a child that they were letting run amok. Children should not be allowed in that dining room unless they have 5 star behavior. The Peninsula needs to sort that out. We'll never go back on the off chance that there is a toddler running around shouting at 9pm.

food was one note. A few garnishes used on the opening course was used on the entree. Food lacked seasoning. Plating was ok. Taste was bland. The website made it seem better than it was. However the server and manager was welcoming. Food suffered.

We hadn't been back for a couple of years (live in Orange County). We were in the area and made a last minute decision to come back to The Belvedere for dinner. It couldn't have been better in any way. We were late because we got lost on the various Santa Monica Blvds, but our greeting was warm as could be. The dining room is of that ilk we seek but seldom find- lovely room and decorations, comfortable seating not in the laps of other diners, and ambient noise low enough to allow real dinner conversation. The service was impeccable and not the least bit stuffy- we really felt welcomed. And the food was outstanding in presentation and taste. We had the langoustine app, the arugula salad, and grilled salmon. Each was excellent.

When writing reviews I do my best to not come across like a "gushing" teen, however, I forewarn you I experienced my best dining experience to date with The Belvedere.

Enter. I dined with The Belvedere following The 63rd Primetime Emmys and was of the impression The Belvedere could hold its own against the raging feast at The Governors Ball. My date and I began with assorted breads of many varieties, including Raisin. Warm and soft to the touch, the accompanying spreads only made them taste better. Following the bread we were each given Fig Confit and, noting such a small thing, it was amazing.

After beginning with bread and Fig, we were recommended a Sonoma Merlot that could not have been better; along with a sampling of five cho

I was pleasantly surprised to find this 'neighborhood gem'. I have visited friends traveling on business and staying at the Peninsula -- but I never ventured into the restaurant. It was a wonderful dining experience! I expect that my friend and I will be going back there again on a regular basis.

Very good from beginning to end. We had an early reservation so were given a choice of table and then served a tasty amuse bouche.
Fine wine selection at all price levels. Lovely menu with just the right number of choices. Our chicken and fish entrees were perfect.
The excellent wait staff was attentive but never intrusive. Everyone needs a little elegance occasionally - the Belvedere fulfills that need.

Went to the Belvedere after purchasing a spotlight deal on Opentable. When pulling up to valet, the parking lot featured such exotic rides as a Bugatti Veyron, a Ferrari, a Lambo, several Phantom's and too many dark German sedans that seemed to disappear in the background. Once inside the Belvedere, we noticed it was incredibly quiet. Maybe too quiet. The use of a cell phone has got to be a big no-no. The bread was great. But what made it was the awesome sun dried tomato and garlic butter. Additionally, we ordered the rib eye steak and Maine lobster. Everything was outstanding. My only complaint is for a fine steak house drinks are expected to be a little stiffer. But I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Date night for my fiancee and I are really really important. For this date night, we chose the Belvedere because he had bought an OpenTable Coupon. Honestly, usually we use the coupons to try the place but rarely go back for various reasons. We will DEFINITELY be back to The Belvedere. Our experience was probably our best dining experience we've ever had. Everything was perfect. Michael, our waiter, made the experience excellent. Service was a 20 on a scale of 1 to 10. All of his recommendations were in spot on and incredible. We received complimentary dishes from the chef and from Michael, and when we left, they gave me a tin of homemade granola! How sweet is that? They won us over and we've found our new favourite restaurant!!

For a upscale restaurant, the service was way to fast, ordered a split app.came fast and while still eating the salad was plopped down on table, the main came within 5 minutes of finishing the salad all in all we were through with a $200 meal in less than 1 1/2 hours with desert and coffee....not good.

I agree with some of the comments previously posted. Food was very solid, but not very adventurous. Started with a beet salad, which had good flavors. Entree - rack of lamb - was perfectly prepared, but did not exhibit interesting herbs / spices. My wife had the steak, which was large and well-prepared. Hard to complain, but was not blown away by the food (except for the mac & cheese). Wine list is strong with many good selections.

We always enjoy the Belvedere. The food is always great, the portions are generous, and there are nice touches from the chef--mini appetizer, sorbet after the meal, sweet treats at the end, and a box of granola to take home. The service is gracious, very attentive without being obtrusive. This is one restaurant where it's worth the extra expense if you want to have an elegant, leisurely meal out.

We went to the Belvedere for the Mother's Day fixed price menu. They spoiled us! The food was very good and the portions, which were served family style, were generous. The service was friendly but not hovering. They treated our 10 year old daughter like a princess (she loved that!). After our meal we were given a gift bag of cookies and a gift certificate for a return visit, which we will certainly use. The room is beautiful and the bar, which is near the entrance, looked very cozy and inviting.

It is the quintessential fancy Sunday Brunch service. The amount of food for two of us verged on ridiculous. It is definitely a splurge but worth it for a special occasion!
