The Belvedere at The Peninsula Beverly Hills Ratings and Reviews
The atmosphere and service is amazing. I love coming here for an elegant and relaxing evening.
The food is prepared perfectly, and the menu has lots of vegetarian options, lots of fish.
Nice selection of salads too
After dinner we went to the Living Room lounge, where we had tea and dessert.
The staff at the Belvedere helped get us a table set up to be ready when we arrived.
Overall amazing dinner and night at the Belvedere @ Peninsula hotel. Definitely making this place a regular.
My two friends and I have had our Holiday Lunch at The Belvedere Room for several years, except the year it was closed for remodeling. To say I was disappointed with the management and wait service, is an understatement. We arrived at noon, were seated in the middle of the restaurant which seemed liked a good location. A waiter took our drink orders and told us he would be our server, we never saw him again. After about 15 minutes another waiter came by and took our order. Our food was served promptly and was very good. We sat with empty plates in front of us for 30 minutes. We watched our waiter running around the restaurant, along with others. No stopped by to see if we wanted to see a dessert menu or if we needed water, tea, or coffee. We flagged a manager down, told her we have been deserted, could we see a dessert menu, she brought then quickly. She could have sent the waiter to our table. Again, we waited , for our waiter to see if we wanted to order anything else. Frustrated, we asked if we could get our check. The waiter finally came by to ask if we wanted to order dessert, we replied just the check, it was too late and we needed to leave. He apologized stating they were short staffed. It happens but someone should have mentioned that before. Or at the very least, when the manager brought the dessert menus. Needless to say, it was not a pleasant experience.
The food was excellent, the service was excellent, the ambiance was excellent, and although the bill was expensive the value was very very good. It's nice to find a restaurant that isn't focused on "turning the table" and exceeds your expectations. We have returned again will continue to return often.
The room is similar to a L'Orangerie in France. Unfortunately, the food tries to hard and misses badly. For the most part everything is different than the classic style - just a tad too trendy. The hamburger was the only item that was classic and it was good (not great). Dessert was a mess. We ordered the $18 Bouche D'Noel - wow what a disappointment - No cake just a bunch of icings/creams on a beautifully decorated plate. No mention of this deconstructed approach on the menu. In addition. - for the most part the service was not attentive. I find the Polo Lounge a much more satisfactory experience.
Had such a lovely anniversary brunch. Live guitarist on the patio. Bottomless mimosas. Pretty original brunch food options. For example, lobster waffle. We had the most amazing server, Cecelio. Overall great time. I do wish the food was a bit more flavorful.
If you have money to spend for a nice date or business brunch or anything like that, this is the place to go. They smoke their own salmon in house, make everything from scratch, etc. My husband and I did go home feeling sick, however that might be because we ate so much seafood. Overall, incredible dining experience.
I came here for my 16th birthday brunch, and I wasn't disappointed. The staff surprised me with chocolate covered strawberries on a plate with a birthday message and candle-- they made it truly special!! The egg white frittata was phenomenal, and I will definitely be back.
Attentive service all night. Generous portions so took half home & saved room for the gorgeous as well as delicious Faberge Egg filled with chocolate, peanut butter & raspberry - a work of art! Loved the Dover Sole & octopus. There was a nice amuse bouche of tomatillo gazpacho to start and we ate every peice of the crispy thin Parmesan crackers. Will definitely be back!
The service at the Peninsula is always top-notch. A girlfriend and I came here for Sunday brunch. Several people greeted us when we sat down and made sure we had everything we needed. I have a gluten allergy and therefore could not have many things on the buffet, but someone from the kitchen came out to show me what I could and could not have. I enjoyed the shrimp, crab, and oysters. The wait staff also brought me some gluten-free bread and and a poached egg with hollandaise since I could not eat the eggs benedict. All in all a good experience, but definitely pricey, especially when you have allergies that prevent you from eating half of the brunch options and most of the desserts.
Ordinarily I would not complain about a restaurant that I think so highly of but yesterday was an exception to all of my previous wonderful experiences: hair in my yogurt; no apology that I can recall; 20plus minutes to replace the granola/yogurt; the final bill presented with 2 granolas charged; my needing to tell them that was inappropriate. (I was actually surprised for the small amount of the charge $15, they had not offered to take care of the entire bill.) Perhaps it was a bad day there.
I'm sorry to say that the food was really disappointing - started off with the spinach salad....dressing was extremely intense and there was far too much of it, then went on to mushroom risotto which was quite the opposite - extremely bland. For desert we had the homemade ice-cream which was okay..nothing special...a bit 'icey' actually. On a positive note all the servers were extremely pleasant and the dining room is gorgeous which helped...but in the end we did come here for the food :(
We have dined here several times; each time was wonderful. Recently went there for my birthday. Had the most generous experience ever. The servers are attentive without being pretentious. They anticipated our every need. Friendly, not stuffy. Brought us extra food (sample of a new side dish, extra bread goodies). The food was cooked perfectly and extremely delicious. To celebrate my birthday they brought out (unsolicited) the Faberge Egg dessert which is a magnificently painted dark chocolate molded "egg". It was stunning and delicious. It was also complimentary by surprise. We love this place and are planning our return. One of the best experiences we've had in a restaurant.
My intention was to try the restaurant because they were participating in the DineLa promotion.
Upon arriving the hostess pleasantly agreed to my request for a patio table and escorted us to one already set for our visit. Menus were handed to us and i noticed it was the regular house menu - thereby I asked for the DineLa menu, which was promptly given. We were asked for our preferred water and it was poured immediately. Then we waited and waited. I saw what I thought were waiters scurrying about but nobody came to us. After about 15 minutes the captain took our drink order. When are drinks were finally served by the captain, the waiter arrived asking if we were ready to order. Nooo, these are called cocktails and cocktails are served before not with dinner. The Dine-La Menu: it was superb! The choices were probably the best I have seen for this promotion. Each dish was extraordinary. After experiencing the slow beginning the kitchen proved the meal to be a great experience. I intend to go back.
Beautiful & delicious food accompanied by superior, attentive service. Had DineLA menu. Staff was extremely attentive. All food dishes from appetizer to dessert was impeccably and generously prepared with the freshest ingredients. Innovative food prep in a relaxing, beautiful environment. Staff from valet to host, from wait staff to management were very attentive. We had a wonderful time and will certainly go back even at regular prices!
Had our 25th anniversary dinner there and they were beyond the call of duty amazing to us. Brought out two glasses of champagne when we sat down and at the end a very special dessert, comped. We were treated like the only people in the place. Highly recommend them.
A wonderful solid 5 star hotel restaurant. The menu is sophisticated, yet there is something for everyone. Ramon, the wonderful manager, keeps everything running smoothly and makes all guests feel special. The dining room is intimate, but the real winner is the patio. Beautifully adorned and just gorgeous at night. The sound level at this restaurant is delightfully quiet, which makes it a perfect spot if entertaining ones parents or grandparents. This is a perfect special occasion restaurant or if finances allow a solid option for any dinner or lunch. FOodwise we loved the Steak tartar, scallops, charred Cesar salad and smiled salmon pizza. You can count on a delicious well served meal at The Belvedere.
