Excellent food, great service! We’ll be back!
We have several friends that have eaten here and recommended going. This was our first time to go to The Beauty Shop! I got seated at Priscilla's (Presley) hair dryer which still works so that was pretty cool!! Our waitress was very nice and attentive. It was super busy as it was Mother's Day but everything went smoothly and everyone was very nice. We look forward to going again soon.
One of my very favorite restaurants in Memphis with excellent Bloody Marys!! Their brunch is amazing and always packed so make a reservation in advance. I prefer the brunch and dinner menus over the lunch selections. Their fish selections are excellent, salads are unique and very fresh, pasta dish specials are always tasty!! It's a fun and funky vibe with nice roomy booths for good conversation, the table seating would be more for people watching and seeing everyone in the restaurant. Their milkshakes and crepes are unique and delish!! A definite gem in the Memphis midtown scene!
Eclectic and cozy atmosphere, inspired dishes, and one hell of a drink menu. We will definitely be back!
My favorite restaurant in Memphis!
😀 fish club so yummy.
Great for Mother’s Day! Must get the coconut cake!
We really enjoyed our dinner at The Beauty Shop. The food was great and inventive and the service was excellent. We would highly recommend this restaurant.
Amazing food, great service, an all around excellent time
I've been multiple times and have never been disappointed. Service is great, food is always fresh, flavorful and tasty.
The poached eggs were hard boiled and the server never came by to check on the order. We had to go find her and while they offered to recook we decided to change to French toast, just because we did not have confidence that the eggs would be cooked properly. French toast was no longer available so we settled for banana pancakes, which were good.
The server did her best to make it right but I doubt that we will be back.
Everything was great except that we still had to wait with a reservation
They really try hard here, mostly. The Beauty Shop hands down is the best Sunday brunch you'll find in Mid-town and perhaps all of the Memphis area. I've been coming here a lot. It is very popular so make reservations in advance.
Was so excited to try this spot and although the ambiance was adorable, the food was only ok. The pastrami reuban was boring and not great. The thai salad had very little duck and not exciting. The server never came out to check on us...would not run here with all of memphis' other dining options.
In town for the Beale Street music festival from Boston. What a delightful and delicious lunch! And great to get away from the downtown area and experience a fabulous neighborhood. Thank you!
Awesome food and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend if in The Memphis area.
The food was awesome!
Absolutely love the Beauty Shop! Delicious food, cocktails and wine list.
It was great food and everyone was nice!
We had a reservation and got seated immediately upon arriving even though we were a few minutes late!
The shrimp and scallops were amazing! Loved the red velvet cake, as well!
Overall it was a pleasant experience! There was a wait when we arrived but we got right in thanks to the reservations we made through Open Table. This was our first time at the Beauty Shop. The ambiance was nice complete with hair dryers! The food was really good! Both the chicken & waffles and shrimp & grits were excellent! I look forward to going back. There were other things on the menu is like to try!
The food is always an amazing combination of different flavors that blend beautifully!!
Loved the decor! Food was unique and delicious!
Always wonderful! Love the new art and chairs!
Great atmosphere, food choices unique, interesting, and absolutely delicious! I had the warm farm salad and I could have eaten about five of those and rolled out the door utterly happy. I would drive back to Memphis just for that. Love this place!
For the purposes of this meal it was on point. Menu options are great. Service is excellent. Ambiance is just right. Not too loud or quiet. Got a nice retro feel yet modernized. I would come back again. Big sweets guy. So the desert options are important to me. The gelato options are really different, makes you want to try multiple options. So order the 3 scoops.
I was so excited to come here after seeing the reviews. It was good, but not stellar. And for the prices I would like stellar. The guac is really tasty, the scallops and shrimp are good, but again, it didn't blow me away. If it had cost $15, I would have been thrilled. My friend got the honey crisp apple salad and the calamari, both of which just needed something else to put them over the edge. The beautini martini had no taste of pineapple, but instead tasted like sucking on a vanilla bean. The strawberry cake was really, really good. Figures, as it was not made IN the restaurant. Service is beyond slow, so don't go if you're in a hurry.
Love this spot! Creative, delicious food and drink! Love the vibe and the owner is awesome.
Service was fantastic! Seems there were new waitresses but they were paired with experienced ones. Everyone welcoming! Food....ahhhh! We all tried something different...only complaint was we all wanted to try each others meals and no one wanted to share! I had the chicken and waffles....I had always been reluctant to try a piece of fried chicken and a waffle...now my question is why? They are perfect together!
Advertised as brunch... had no brunch food ?
Great! Always good.
Terrific lunch and funky ambiance.
Hidden gem, people should be lining up to dine here. Branzino was crispy outside and moist and tender inside. Drinks were great and the red velvet cake was to die for. If you make a trip to Memphis this needs to be a stop for dinner.
Great food; wonderful service. Fun funky place. I had the traditional eggs benedict. Excellent.
What a great find! Tasty food in a fun atmosphere. Ask to sit in the back but sitting at the bar does when you lack the foresight to get reservation.
Absolutely loved this historic experience. The shampoo stations, mirrors, lighting , not to mention the eclectic menu, full of southern favs. I loved my biscuits and gravy and the chicken and waffles were excellent. The highlight was the broiled grapefruit! I would go back tomorrow if I could.
The beauty shop always offers a great experience- between the food and atmosphere, you can’t go wrong.
This restaurant is probably good for a ladies lunch, but I brought my kids and it wasn’t that kid friendly. My son got the pasta and it was hard, but he enjoyed the sauce. I had to order an adult burger for my 4 year old. The waitress left us waiting for our check for some time. I left with the kids and my husband waited for the check and they only remembered us was when a lady came to bus the table.
Each ordered one of the specials for the evening. Fish was good (pompano), cast iron grilled steak not so much.
