Enjoyed our lunch - great food, service and view!!
Beautiful location and nice view. Had a lovely lunch with friends.
We had a very beautiful table at the window with the view to the sea and shore. Overall, I can only recommend to friends.
Another good meal at one of our favourite restaurants.
This was a birthday celebration lunch for a friend ... we were seated by the window, well separated from other tables, which is particularly important at this time of "social distancing." The server allowed us to enjoy a 3-hour casual lunch without pestering us, while remaining appropriately attentive. We had no trouble hearing ourselves during our conversation even though the restaurant was busy, because there's so much room between the tables. To top it off, the food was excellent! :)
Such a beautiful spot to enjoy an evening out. The ambience can’t be beat and the food is delicious. Great and reasonably priced wine selection as well.
Delicious food, far exceeded expectations. Boston Pizza prices, but gourmet dishes. The design of the restaurant isn’t anything special, could be any Moxies or Earls, but wonderful location looking out on the ocean (be warned though, if it’s dark you can’t see anything). On an unrelated note, I am convinced my server was Meghan Markle, or some long lost twin.
I like almost everything about the Beach House food, except the fish. I have ordered several fish menu items and without exception, the fish has been overcooked. What a shame. Good quality food cooked poorly.
I took a friend for a birthday lunch. It was the first day of a new menu, and it impressed. I had the seafood crepe, which I love but hesitate to order at most restaurants. This one was one of the best I have ever eaten, it was plated beautifully. My friend had the Vol-au-vent. She is French and doesn't impress easily, and said that this was as good as her mother's (high praise). It was also a beautiful plate. I also had one of their signature non-alcoholic drinks. Again, a total treat.
Food great, server irritating. I was asked three separate time what I wanted to drink before I had a chance to even decide. If I have the menu open and I’ve said give me a sec I don’t know don’t ask again, I felt rushed. So I gave up and ordered water, it felt too frantic. The view was amazing and perfect for my grandmothers birthday. The lamb was the best I’ve ever had.
A trip to Victoria always includes dinner at the Beach House. It never disappoints.
Except for the window reservations system, all was good. Hostess a bit arrogant regarding the non- guaranteed request for a window seat even though 4 tables by the windows set empty for 30 mins, 3 for 45 mins and one for the entire time while we were there; after 30 mins the sun was down and all you could see out the windows was your reflection... so why not sit the folk who are there (?) Mgmt. responded to e-mail about this with the same party line as the early you make reservation the more the chances of getting the window table; didn't address the issue of tables sitting empty and sun going down (?)Their loss..
Our recent dinner at the Beach House Restaurant was delicious. I had a great Halibut and chips dinner and my partner enjoyed the Seafood Paella. Our server couldn't have been nicer with good suggestions for food and wine. A great experience.
We always come back and will continue to do so. Thanks for being there. BC
we preferred dining upstairs and don’t understand why that part is now only open to special events
Great. Food was delicious. Service was great.
The food is consistently great here. Had a lovely table by the window, and enjoyed the ocean view. Highly recommend The Beach House!
We enjoyed an order of cod and fish, The West Coast Paella was served in a bowl with the sausage and pepper flakes on the side as the guest was concerned it might be too spicy. Excellent choice. Another guest had the Seafood Crepe and was impressed with the amount, the taste and the presentation.
We arrived just before 5 pm and had happy hour drinks.
A table by the window overlooking the ocean made for a perfect spot especially as one guest was from out of town.
Our server was great, very pleasant young Lady (should have written her name down) and the food and view fantastic. Keep up the good work especially in such a very hectic business. You did a great job in 2 out of 3 elements, you cant take too much credit for the view, although I'm sure you paid handsomely for it.
Cheers, keep up the good work (from a retired Restauranteur)
The loud music from the wedding upstairs and the harsh lighting were offputting. The staff and the food were great.
The Beach House Restaurant is very nice, Elegant, Service is great, The view is wonderful. Lots of good food selection. It's my favorite Restaurant and will recommend it to others.
We eat at the Beach House a couple times per year. Great food and great service.
Food and view is perfect. A little bit loud but we don't mind, I guess it was just a bit busy when we were there - and it also depends on the crowd.
Always a great place to go. Food delicious, for reasonable price, and service very attentive.
You can't beat the view, and we had a great window table. It was very busy, so the food took a while, but it was understandable.
Lovely location, and beautiful views but very mediocre food.
Great evening. The past few times we’ve been to the Beach House, the noise level was extreme. But both the noise and food was excellent this time. Service was outstanding.
Beautiful setting for lunch; young woman who serviced us was terrific, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Food was fine, although the oyster starter I had was not great value for the dollar: five very small, deep fried oysters.
Excellent dine around menu for a very reasonable price.
My Mom and I really enjoyed our delicious pre -Birthday dinner that I had booked at the Beach House!
I had requested a nice table and we had the pleasure of being sat at one as well as having a wonderful personable waiter. The food was very good and we were both pleasantly surprised with an absolutely nummy and decadent complimentary , including a birthday candle, desert!
I booked the Beach House as my mom is 87 and this is a lovely "special" (many wonderful memories) that mom would not be able to get to on her own. Mom was so happy when we arrived as I had not told her where we were going.
Loved the view naturally but unfortunately after the appetizers the food went DOWNHILL and I was there at that time of night for the FOOD!
The appetizers were worth the visit -DELICIOUS.. However -- the main courses were not tasty at all and the salmon in particular was flat & boring - not anywhere near enough sauce either
They were varied as far as many vegs offered & colorful ...
The dessert filling was great BUT the tart was overbaked & hard - I almost broke a tooth trying to bite it - not a good base for the filling and not forgivable!!
The busboy instead of offering new cutlery asked if we wanted to keep the old cutlery even though we had offered it to him - shld train your staff a wee bit better -
The waitress was very good and we wld have her again - tipped her accordingly..
Our request for seating on the mezzanine, so my 96-year-old mother didn't have to do stairs, was accommodated. Of our party of 7, 5 went for the dine-around menu. There was good variety, so very little overlap in appetizers, mains and desserts. The service was attentive but not pushy.
Food and service was very good, price very reasonable. Event was a for a Birthday, with cake, I did not know that there would be a $3.00 charge per person for serving cake, and there were 9 of us. Booked through Open Table, then changed reservation by calling restaurant, neither time, was I was told of cake serving charge. Would not book for a birthday, for family again. Plenty of other restaurants, that do not charge cake fee. Would go there for non-cake event, possibly.
Food was great, shrimps were amazing! Great dine-around options.
Birthday brunch. Service was really excellent, menu looked good, window table overlooking the beach where we saw a sea otter come ashore with a fish, just amazing. Mushroom soup was very pasty, server removed from final bill which was nice. The cauliflower tacos were greasy deep fried, not great. The breakfast eggs and pancakes were good. Coffee was good. Dessert was yummy. Overall we had a nice time, but did not have the tasty meal we were hoping for.
The risotto was really just rice, not much cheese or flavour, not really worth the cost. The wine was expensive as well, quite noisy.
A great place with stunning views. Pleasant greeting, seated right away. Service was excellent and not overbearing. My friend and I each had the seafood tacos, they were delicious (a bit messy) and salad. Delicious!
We decided to go to beach house because my friend had gotten married there which was amazing but she had never dined in the restaurant before.
Got there 15 minutes early so we could sit at the bar and have a drink but ended up waiting off side and the bartender who was very nice but super busy tried to take care of us. Ended up waiting 45 minutes (half an hour after our reservation time) for our table and the server was nice but she too was super overloaded and didnt smile.
Food was super disappointing except for the dessert. Food seemed to take a long time and for a table of 5 women we got 1 slice of bread each which was covered in salt.
We did the dine around menu which weren't on any websites and usually dine around menus want to show case what the restaurant has to offer so you'll come back but everything was so salty! The calamari, the bread, the risotto, and the fish and chips had so much batter and salt it wasnt really edible.
The desserts were really good and we even ordered off the ala carte menu to try the verrine which was all of our favorite with the lemon tart coming in close second.
Just very disappointing dining experience after experiencing such a great wedding last year.
We had a very enjoyable evening at The Beach House.: good service, good food
The noise level made it difficult to hear each other.
We love to come here for a relaxed meal for 2, even in the winter when there is no view. This visit was fine, except for a service glitch when my partner's main course came several minutes before my own. Our server apologized and said it was because "Dine Around" menu itens show on o different order than regular menu, so they didnt get paired up. Otherwise our experience was great. Food, wine and service otherwise all great.
All in all my family enjoyed your restaurant. There were 11 of us and no one had mention of a bad meal. I did however find some of the liquor prices a little pricey (ie 9 ounce Kendall Chardonnay $19.00) where as a highball was reasonable (Canadian Club with ginger $6.00). I would definitely go back. Our server Jules was exceptional!
