Fabulous location on the seawall in West Vancouver. We managed to get a good view of the water. A lovely outside patio is also available. Great and friendly service. Food was delicious and a good variety offered. We enjoyed our dinner and went for a nice walk afterwards. Definitely a good choice for dinner for visitors and locals.
Spectacular, the food was really amazing. I think they may have a new chef because the food is even better than I remembered it. The menu has been changed a bit but my favorites were still on it. We had the most wonderful waiter named Jack, he gave us a glass of complimentary champagne for our anniversary. He was very polite and was very attentive throughout the meal. We enjoyed a really wonderful evening and delicious meal, would recommend and go back in a heart beat.
Poor service, very noisy, menu very simple, food average, long wait time for food.... etc.
Not enough servers
Basic order item requests not met
Loud to the point of —can’t wait to leave
Pricy food and constant requests for the wait staff for the food orders etc . God, if I want to order I call you . I don’t need to be bothered every 5 min if I want food and what’s next
Good place and good views . Quality degrading
Such a great location on the beach. We had a birthday celebration with a gathering of 6 and a 18 nth granddaughter. Staff very accommodating. Food and drinks were great and you can never get used to the view . Nice thing about being on the beach is that you can take your child out for a break for a few minutes during the course of a meal. Will be back for another celebration this summer.
The server rushed us. We were in and out in 45 minutes. I got really bad dierea 20 minutes after leaving a well.
We had lunch, and as celiacs, our waiter was great at helping us select our meals.
Great service, excellent food. Staff was every accommodating. As always, fabulous setting, venue.
Initially the online reservation system showed no availability 2 weeks prior to our dinner. A phone call revealed there was only tables for 12 (our party was 6). After it was suggested they break up the large tables, did we secure a reservation. Some of our dinners were great, some were not. Fresh halibut, sablefish and salmon were delicious. The fish and chips were unsatisfactory as the fish was encased in a thick greasy batter and chips were very ordinary and not hot. Service was good.
Superb view. Fantastic food & drink. Impeccable service. I will most definitely be back!!!!!!
My husband and I had a fabulous experience for my Birthday on June 8th. The manager introduced himself and asked if it was a specail occasion..... My Birthday! Complimentary dessert which by the way was so yummy! The staff from entering to exiting were top notch!
The only thing we found a wee bit off was how the sound achoed throughout the restaurant which at times was quite loud. But hey... everyone was enjoying themselves! Cheers ...we will be back soon!
The view is lovely but the food is only so-so in terms of originality and taste and the menu hasn’t changed in a long time. Not a place for foodies.
We had a great time at the beach house. Everybody enjoyed the food and our server was excellent.
Always a great meal and experience at the Beach House.
Delicious, nutritious, gorgeous setting with fireplace and ocean views. Highly recommended.
Location was perfect, food was very good and Carla provided excellent service, friendly and courteous. Although we booked our meal for 2 as a birthday, no one acknowledged this at any time during our stay.
One other note, while we were fortunate to get a patio table we found the cushions to be quite flat and uncomfortable.
The Beach House is one of our 'go to favourites'. We live on an adjacent island and when we venture to the mainland, one of our special treats to ourselves is lunch/dinner here. The food is always exceptional, the servers combine that rare ability to be casually friendly and still very customer focused.
Superb in every way!
My husband and I had the Sunday morning Happy Hour brunch. We were served the best tasting and best looking bloody mary to start with. Then our breakfast was served...it was probably the best breakfast we had ever eaten. We have only been there two times (we are out of towners and just stumbled upon it), but we love this place. It will be our go to spot from now on.
Great value during Happy hour for brunch!
We were celebrating my son's 8th birthday on May 24, and there were six of us, which included two children. Upon arrival, we were led to a booth right at the front of the restaurant (by the windows in front of the patio), and were pretty happy with the location. It was a bit bright in the sun, but we were able to deal with that. Unfortunately, though, about 10-15 minutes into sitting at the table, my 3 year-old son and I were left alone as my husband and 8 year-old went to use the washroom, and my youngest son started freaking out screaming "Ant, Ant! Mommy, there's an ant!" I looked where he was pointing, and followed the ant to where it scrambled under one of the seats in our booth, but I wasn't able to squash it. I told my worried son that it was just one ant, no harm, and he reluctantly tried to calm down. Within a minute of spotting that first ant, my son then spotted about three more, which I quickly squashed. They were on the seats, the side of the table, and along the wood on the side of the booth. Then, I noticed one on the unoccupied table across from ours, that was right against the window. It was at that point that I decided I needed to ask for another table. The servers were great, though didn't seem too apologetic or surprised about the ant problem. We ended up at a booth directly on the other side of the restaurant, and while there were a couple of flies that my bug-averse son noticed, we didn't have any more ants. The food was great, as was the view. Unfortunately, I am still disappointed about the ants. While I understand that it is on a beach, and ants do tend to emerge at this point in the spring, I still was very surprised and disappointed that ants were a problem in a restaurant of this higher-budget level. Our family spent over $215 on dinner, dessert and wine over a two-hour period, but we definitely didn't expect to dine around ants. I hope that the manager reads this and deals with the ants, as they are quite off-putting.
Waitress completely forgot our "parmesan fries". When told she said they'd be ready in 2 minutes... but only after 20 minutes. Food was no doubt, excellent.
Found her not to be so enthusiastic and friendly, like she was just doing her job.
Everyone must have passion for the job they do, no matter from a CEO to a janitor.
Waited the bill for 15 minutes but she never came until we had to get up and approach the bar.
It was a gorgeous day, flowers blooming, nice breeze.
Our server was very good. Food was not-bad, but not spectacular. No kids or vegetarian options -- too bad. Portions were on small side. Table was only ok -- cold draft and a lot of traffic around it. Nice locale, and view. I was not blown away, but we were not terribly disappointed either.
Four of us went to the lounge to watch a game. Friendly service and lovely location. Too bad the food is very poorly executed. The halibut and chips were too salty. To the server’s credit, she didn’t charge for the dish but a seaside restaurant has to have an outstanding fish and chips. And when did restaurants stop caring about fries? Obviously frozen, undercooked and cold. How hard is it to make a decent fry?
Always great food, service and ambiance
Excellent food, wonderful location. One of the best clam chowders I have every had.
Lovely spot to get away to for an easy visit with some good food and wine.
We just left coming to the beach house. We love the happy hours in the menu and the beautiful view and the staff are always wonderful.
All was good apart from attentive but sporadic service.....😊.......the rhubarb crumble keeps me coming back...!!
We had a get together with a old college friend that lives in the BC interior and we were wanting an ocean setting with good food and ambiance which the Beach House certainly delivers.
I was also pleased that the Beach House seated us with a good ocean view as requested. We had a great visit and our friend loved it and suggested we come for dinner when she comes down in the summer.
Thanks ! We enjoyed! See you soon !
Always a pleasure and even better when we can be seated on the patio where we ate yesterday
A Love spot in West Vancouver that has endured for years. Perfect views of English Bay and a fairly interesting menu make it an ideal spot for a date or visiting out of towners. The only drawback is a very high noise level, common to all busy spots it seems. Sit on the patio if you can ,it's quieter. Friendly and helpful staff, help the experience.
The beach house is always great place to hang out with friends, but it’s unfortunate that they don’t take patio reservations.
The location is super with the outdoor patio. Appetizers are good. The waiter is very friendly and nice. But the main courses including all sorts of steaks and fish are very disappointing. Very rough meat.
Salmon and sable fish were excellent. Great service...nice view.
The food was not as good as usual . We ordered lobster , most Restuarants would serve or ask if you wanted melted butter with it they did not bring it with the order. Then when we asked they took longer then it needed to be and it wasn’t all melted so they took it back to melt it again. That was in my opinion poor service . I think the manager would want to know
We love it here, right on the beach, great service ( especially in the last year), good food ( although just today we went and in my salad there was a very small amount of ingredients that were supposed to be in it, and NO goat cheese even though there was supposed to be some.
But this review is for Mother’s Day when everything was wonderful except for where we were seated.
We made the reservation for Saturday the 12th because we wanted to be at a restaurant with a view. I was told we would have a window seat and if it was sunny, although they could not promise the deck, they would make note we requested it.
We got a table across from the fireplace so my Mum was looking right at it.
I know I should have said something but I didn’t want to bring down the celebration..
Apart from that it was really great service and food and a special time❤️
We had a delightful Saturday afternoon brunch overlooking the water. My husband had the salmon which he thoroughly enjoyed, I had the lobster omelet which was very tasty, although the omelet itself was a tad overcooked. The service was good and our location within the restaurant was perfect. We were away from other diners and had an unobstructed view of the water. We could have waited to be seated on the patio but decided we were quite happy to sit inside. It was a hot day and I think we made the right decision.
The food was great and our waiter was exceptional. We are looking forward to returning soon.
