The Beach House Ratings and Reviews
Lovely restaurant on the beach....BUT....people should not bring screaming babies.!! We were there for over two hours and so was the very loud baby....people go to Denny’s if you want to have your child with you. It is very expensive to go here and it is a treat. Everyone’s ambience is ruined because of your sense of entitlement!
The only value attached to our experience was the opportunity to walk around the Christmas Tree display outside , and the view . The service we received did not meet basic standards. Although it was not a busy night , and there were many servers, our waitress appeared to be distracted and dismissive ; we were left waiting for long periods of time in between requests. The food was not at all in line with what was stated on the menu ( the creme brûlée was cold, an the salad appeared to have been put together to meet some standard of presentation, with no true substance to support it. As well they were not able to provide us with a Scotch list?!) Disappointing! Truly loved the place when the ambiance aligned with the menu and the service. No longer...
The food was excellent, the service reasonable. I was overcharged for the drinks simple because our server made a mistake with our order. We did not drink wine but our empty wine glasses remained on the table for the duration of the meal, as did our empty Scotch glasses.
Always looking for more vegetarian and gluten free options as several people I frequent with are limited to a couple things on the menu.
I don't do dairy and asked for a cream alternative for my American. No luck. Please introduce yourselves and your purchaser to 2017 and offer coconut or almond milk please.
It would be great if gluten free beer is available. Also gluten free pasta. I appreciated the chef made toasts out of gluten free hamburger buns. They were good. However not difficult to keep gluten free bread in the freezer. It was a bit noisy in the restaurant. Otherwise a great evening
Our lunch at The Beach House started with our table ready and waiting for us because we had made a reservation. The greeter was prompt greeting us and we were shown to our table without pause. Our waiter was polite, friendly and informational. He was attentive except that he forget my coffee refill. The atmosphere was pleasant although noisy. The view can't be surpassed! The food was delicious. Best burger I've had in a long time. I substituted the traditional bun for a lettuce bun. It worked and I'd recommend giving it a try.
The hostess & waitress were excellent. We were introduced to the new items available on your menu.
This week we came for Lunch & the Menu had a variety of choices at reasonable prices.
Your prawn appetizer is my favorite item on your menu.
Also, your Happy Hour is excellent! I particularly like coming to this restaurant on important family celebrations. ie birthday anniversary etc..
We went for lunch on Halloween because it is my wife's birthday and she dresses as a witch.
We shared 3 appetizers at our table at the window plus a carafe of white wine.
For a birthday treat they gave us a chocolate ice cream slice to share between us.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming to us even though they were very busy.
I chose this restaurant to celebrate my wedding anniversary with my spouse. I made the original reservation online specifically noting the occasion and followed up with a phone call to request a specific table. I requested a window table with ocean view suitable to see the sun set scheduled for 5:54 p.m. and was assured of a table meeting my request. We arrived at 5:30 p.m. and were seated at a table on the east side of the building across from the window tables. It was apparent that all the tables favouring a western sunset view were occupied. There was no view of the sunset from our location and this was very disappointing! I have owned and operated a restaurant and would never have treated a client this way without informing them if the seating request could not be met. My bill was $150.00 and had I known my request would not be honoured I would have made my reservation elsewhere even if the bill could have been higher. It was not about the money, it was all about the occasion and its need to be perfect. Clients beware!
Beautiful view from our window table. Sushi and steak meal was quite good. Salmon meal was not overcooked. Great location with a predictable price premium. Enjoyed our very cute and professional server, who wore an endearing little blotch of wasabi on her cheek.
Unfortunately, our luncheon was disappointing.
Have spent a good deal at this restaurant over the years.
It was my friend's (of 38 years), 73rd birthday celebratory lunch. We arrived 1/2 hr early, so we said we would wait in the bar until table was ready. We sat for a good 20 minutes there before anyone noticed us, (it was busy in the bar) and some 15 minutes after that when I went back to the front desk to see if our table was ready, we were told we were not on the list. We were finally lead to a seat with a beautiful view. My Caesar salad was too heavy on the anchovy , with a very small, quarter chicken breast (if that) for an additional $8.00. When I mentioned to our server, that I found the $8.00 to be exhorbitant given, its' size, I was told she would mention it to the manager. Found myself wishing I'd ordered the beet/pear/chicken salad instead.
Given we were both on diets, our lunch was modest,(no alcohol this day)and friend had the chowder, which was excellent, but I would have appreciated if my disappointment had been met with more sincerity by our server.
