The Beach House Ratings and Reviews
I have been to the beach house quite a few times before. So when it came time to book a brunch for a special occasion, this place was one of the first that came to mind. I have to say that myself and all of our gyears were deeply disappointed. Our service was extremely slow. Our drinks took forever to come, and the cappuccino machine was broken so we had to have straight coffee. They forgot the mimosas that were ordered for our drinks. Our food came out and it was cold. It it looked like it it had been pre-cooked and thrown together. With one of the gas being a cook themselves, they were sad to see the quality of the food that came out of the kitchen. They forgot one of the items that was ordered, and we had to remind them to bring it. I have to say it was very disappointing meal, we were not asked how we would like our eggs done, or anything else that they could do for our meals. I could understand all of this if the place was absolutely busting full, but it was our table and around five other tables that were in the restaurant. It is a big space and there were barely any patrons in it. The atmosphere is beautiful, although the building itself is really run down. The bathrooms are falling apart, somethings are literally held together with tape. This is an establishment in West Vancouver and it is so sad to see it in the condition that it is. Until it is renovated or changes Management I don’t believe myself or anyone that was in our party will return.
Booked for Valentines Day. No front of house service for at least 5 minutes. Husband had to
find service and came back with a waiter who reluctantly found our reservation and showed us to a table. Absolutely no recognition of Valentines Day on the menu at all - just another week day. Asked waiter if any Valentine specials (including dessert) and answer was no. Disappointing experience for anticipated special occasion.
We enjoyed an excellent meal. Food was cooked to perfection and it was very flavorful. Our server was great too.
The house red wine was not very good but we found another bottle of red to suit our tastes.
The restaurant was a little chilly.
Apparently some heating problem. Fortunately my date was near a portable heater.
The Beach House is our favourite venue, especially on those rare occasions where it is actually sunny in the winter, here in West Vancouver. Nothing better than Happy hour to while away an hour or so on some good food, great service and amazing views. Followed by a walk on the seawall. Could not be Better anywhere in the world and believe me We've been everywhere:) Our server was particularly genuine and lovely as was her busboy/food delivery person? All in All we had an Amazing, Lovely and Loving Valentines day dinner albeit a few days early.. After 50 yrs of being together we can say that the Beach House always reminds us of when we were young and how much we loved the ocean, restaurants and going out for dinner - just the two of us. Thanks to everyone at the Beach House for always delivering on an amazing memorable evening.
Very much enjoy dining every time I go. It surprises me however, that a Vegan/Veg menu still isn't available. I over look it because I like the restaurant, and make due with a tasty dish or two, but I really miss not being able to order food I prefer to eat. More and more restaurants are adding veg/vegan options I have noticed, as our culture is changing, and it is my hope that an additional menu option soon will be available at the Beach House. BTW, our server was fantastic, very well trained.
We always enjoy the Beach House. The quality of the food is consistently great and the service is always attentive. We love to have a table for two on the west side or a booth or table for four. We go for Andy occasion, spontaneous or a celebration. Everyone in our family has their favourites.
We paid an earlier visit to the Beach House and it was very disappointing in all aspects. What a difference a few months can make. Giving the restaurant another chance to impress we were delightfully surprised to find a complete turnaround. The food we had enjoyed in the past was back on the menu and was well prepared and delicious, with a good selection of wine by the glass to match. The ambience and location of the restaurant has always been a major plus point but the service, which we had found so poor on our last visit, was a memorable and positive feature of our dinner this time around - thanks to a large extent to our excellent waitress, Nina M. Kudos to Nina for making our return to the Beach House such a pleasure. We will be back to enjoy more meals at the Beach House and we do hope that these improvements are maintained. Recommended.
We were very disappointed with the food. The burger patty was burnt and so was the bacon on the top. The soup which was a fish chowder was watery and not at all as a chowder should be. All in all it was a very disappointing experience and we did not say anything there as it was my husband's birthday and we did not want to spoil the occasion.
We chose this restaurant because we had earlier had a very good experience.
Lovely restaurant on the beach....BUT....people should not bring screaming babies.!! We were there for over two hours and so was the very loud baby....people go to Denny’s if you want to have your child with you. It is very expensive to go here and it is a treat. Everyone’s ambience is ruined because of your sense of entitlement!
