The Beach House
Beach House’s food and drink menus take inspiration from all along the West Coast. Our rotating seafood-centric menu brings fresh, bright flavours and the most in-season local ingredients to the forefront of each dish. Taking particular influence from tours around Southern California, Culinary Development chefs David Wong and Hamid Salimian have thoughtfully blended West Coast dishes with the region’s prominent cultural cuisines. Together with our new extensive martini menu and a reinvigorated wine list that includes all of your favourites – plus an introduction to undiscovered gems – Beach House offers a West Coast experience that’s unlike any other.
We had brunch there which was very good.
My drink came with a plastic straw which was shocking! Plastic straws should not be served in the restaurant, no excuses.
Another minor point is that my soda came in a huge, heavy, beer mug, which I asked to be changed to a nice tall glass. Much easier to handle as well as aesthetics.
Other than that the eggs benny was great.
I would recommend the Beach House BUT the noise level was very high last Saturday - We have been there 3 weekends in a row and the last visit was frustrating....you need to address this -
Food very good. Service (server Muffasa) was EXCELLENT. New decor is lovely. Unfortunately the noise level was intolerable - we couldn't hear each other across the table. Atmosphere for a higher end restaurant is destroyed by noise level.
Great meal! Try the baked Alaska!
The new reno looks fantastic and the food was better than expected. Surprisingly the best steak I have had in a very long time.
Just fairly disappointing. Decor looked unfinished and not as up market as I had hoped. Felt like a cafe vibe. My food was very salty and difficult to eat. Server was very good and location wonderful
The food we ate was for the most part terrible. Before the renovation, The Beach House had a dynamite roll which was very good. The sushi roll that replaced it was terrible. Similarly for the fish tacos: before, they were great; now they're swimming in some sort of sauce and were absolutely awful.
We had a lovely lunch in the rebuilt Beach House . The sandwich & soup option gave us a bowl of very good creamy chowder and 3 small but delicious lobster brioche sandwiches .....
The coffee was fresh and the service excellent ( thank you , Mustafa.....)
Was extremely disappointed. Definitely not the same as it used to be. The menu is just ok and they were out of all the fish meals
No kid’s menu is the biggest challenge for me as a family.
I wish you had the Caesar Salad & Fish & Chips again... they were soooo GOOD!
It would be nice to also enjoy Bellinis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cobb salad is the worst I’ve ever had.
Waitress didn’t listen to our requests and dietary concerns
Just a gong show
Very expensive but I guess they have to recoup the renovation monies. Contrary to a popular view not everybody in West Vancouver is rich. The markup on wine is totally crazy.
The Artic Char is still my favourite, so crisp and delicious, and the ravioli make a great complement, as does the secret sauce poured at the table . I recommended to my friend who also loved it. Wanted to know what is char. Good question , we know it's a fish, I just never questioned. Salmon family? The chocolate dessert is a must . Warm, melting and amazing.
The food was good, but not fine dining. More rustic sea food. The food prices were on par - pricey but not fine dining prices. The wine was over priced, particularly by the glass.
The service was not good. We later went to Browns Social house and received better service. The server brought us a share dish that included an allergen I had warned him about (he never apologized or offered to have it remade), I refilled our wine throughout the night, our dirty appetizer plates were still all over our table when the mains arrived, after we declined dessert he simply never came back and my Husband had to go find him to get our bill.
When booking online they ask if it’s a special occasion. I noted it was our 10 year anniversary, and while I wasn’t expecting any complimentary add on’s, not a single person acknowledged that it was our anniversary. I left wondering why they even asked.
I would try again, but would opt for something different for special occasions.
This was our first visit to the new Beach House. Unfortunately it did not go well. We had reserved a table by the window with a view, however we were seated at a table in front of the exit doors to the patio that had no view. In addition the chairs are affixed to the floor so the distance between the table and ones' lap was considerable. We asked to moved and we were obliged. The first server elaborated about their martinis menu and was explicit about how many olives one could have in their drink. I was unsatisfied with just two olives, and I asked a floor manager to bring us more, he was prompt about this matter.
Our waitress at our new table was most pleasant and attentive, I give her 5 stars.
Given the prices on the menu, one would expect fine dining, unfortunately my steak arrived at the table cold! Why didn't I complain, at that point all I wanted to do was go home.
The noise level is overwhelming! Not a place for an evening of table talk and certainly not one for a romantic date.
I and my friend had a oven roasted salmon collar ,bread and salad. We are Japanese so it was not much difficult to eat but you must think about how to serve this kind of fish and taste was not specially delicious . I was very disappointed about somebody took my umbrella by mistake. I trust your restaurant but the response after that was not good.
Hi Chizuru, I am so sorry to hear that you were not overly impressed with our salmon collar. This is one of my favourites and I'd love to know what changes you would like to see on that dish. In regards to your umbrella please email me directly at email@example.com so that we can discuss a way to compensate you for our mistake. Kindest Regards, Ellen Barbour General Manager Beach House
Service was good but the food was average. Very noisy restaurant. I don't think we will be returning anytime soon.
Food was average
Service and ambience superb.
Noise level still high.
On balance it’s an expensive place for what it is; some items on the menu were not available which was a bit odd. Service was good however but I always get the impression that the place is pulling out all the stops to deliver what is ultimately an average but not a cheap experience.
Was there for happy hour. Not much of a Food selection and wines were pricey
I was disappointed in the food. For such a nice venue, the food was plain grill food. Nothing special at all
Our server was very weak. She put our food on another table and then realized it was ours, took it and put it on our table. She was very uncomfortable serving but was trying hard. Other than the service all was good.
A very down scale Earls. Such a disappointment. Black salad leaves in the side salad. Grey mash on raw vegetables. An Earls dessert reduced by two thirds in size. No coffee bar just watery coffee. Get Feeney in to make the food match the location
Our waiter Maurice (Morris) was wonderful.. definitely a large part of the evenings enjoyment.
Food was pleasure in every bite.
Had heard that there was a noise level problem but was not an issue with us and the Restraunt was very busy.
Thank you for a lovely start to the New Year... we will be back.
Got a seat next to the windows with a view of the sunset. Great Chowder. I had the Steak Frites and my daughter had the Gem Salad??? with Salmon. Everything was fantastic. The service was very pleasant and the reception was prompt and courteous.
Fantastic view great service. The staff are to notch!
We had a wonderful New Year's Eve dinner... then back the next day for brunch with friends! The food is fabulous. Incredible steaks. Oysters of course. Must try.the muscle pot!! And of course...end with the baked Alaska. Many of the portions are sharable. Great management and staff who ensure a great visit while meeting some specific needs.
Great location and view, however the service is not commensurate to the venue.
Very slow service
Unfortunately it was a struggle to carry on a conversation with my dining companion. Too much noise.
Noise buffer/s would be appreciated. Hoping that during the outdoor dining season the noise level will be less.
This time there were no large noisy groups, more couples and small tables , no excessive noise. We talked easily. I had Arctic char again. It's crispy, light and delicious. My friends - one had fetuccini with prawns and scallops and loved it, the other a giant steak, loved it and took half home for the next day. Unfortunately they were both on diets, we didn't sample desserts. But I know from previous times that they are delicious!
Hi Clara, Thank you for the kind review! We are so happy to hear that everyone enjoyed their meals and you had a great experience! We look forward to seeing you back in soon. Thanks, Max Parker - Night Manager
Good was too salty for all 3 people
Table was poor despite reservation made month ago
Noise level terrible
No mention of the birthday although that too was part of the reservation
Server was lovely and conscientious
She was not as familiar with wine list although she did get us an answer
Really slow service all round
Wonder why they made renovations. Other than fireplace gone and more tables with views, no better ambiance. Nothing unique about the restaurant. Please don’t ask me how the ‘food is tasting’. The food is not doing the tasting, I am, and I found the crab Benedict too salty .
Great location, nice decor changes, excellent service - food OK. The seem to have changed the menu to go "higher end", but it isn't - just fewer selections from the appetizers that are lower priced. The previous Beach House Menu had its own flair, but this new menu just seems like an upscale Earls.
Excellent as always! Staff is very friendly and efficient. Food is great. Can't find a better view!
I had arranged to meet a few friends for lunch the Saturday before Christmas. We all grew up in West Van and have regularly enjoyed the Beach House since it’s inception. We were excited to see the changes.
My friend who arrived first, just before 12:30, advised the hostess that she was with the Smith party. Immediately she was told that we had to be out by 2:30!
Not a good way to start a special occasion.
Service was good until our food arrived. Two meals came and 5 minutes later the other two plates arrived.
Food was excellent but two plates were whisked away before the other two people were finished. We felt rushed and annoyed.
Then behind us a wine glass shattered. There was glass everywhere under our feet. It was an accident but unsettling. It was cleaned up quickly with apologies but this only added to our disappointment over the entire experience.
At 2:20 a manager politely came over to tell us we had to leave shortly. They needed our table for a party of 8 coming in. A final end to our Christmas lunch.
Not a stellar dining experience to say the least.
Our waiter was so buoyant and friendly and the food was tasty. As it was Christmastime at lunch it was busy but it did not delay our orders. The renovation is good but not that different but Beach house has always been a treat with its wonderful views.
