   We had a late reservation, the team was so attentive we couldn’t ask for better service! Really felt like an authentic Colombian experience. Loved it!

   I had high expectations for this restaurant, especially considering the reputation of Chef Juan Manuel Barrientos, but unfortunately, my experience was far from impressive. The lack of knowledge and professionalism from the waitress was surprising and frankly, unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. It's hard to enjoy a fine dining experience when the staff cannot properly answer even the simplest questions about the menu or the dishes being served. Additionally, the lack of privacy was an issue. Given that this is a hotel restaurant, I expected a more refined atmosphere. Instead, guests were walking around in bathing suits, shorts, and other casual attire, which really took away from the dining experience. The overall ambiance was disrupted, and it felt like a casual setting rather than a high-end restaurant. It’s hard not to compare this restaurant with El Cielo in Brickell, where the experience is consistently exceptional in both service and atmosphere. I hope Cartagena takes these concerns into account, as it has the potential to offer something truly special, but right now it’s falling short.

   We were early. 6:30pm, and this is a place that gets busy late. Just off Collins inside the SLS hotel Cartagena is a pretty spot with high windows and comfortable hospitality. There is a raised bar dominating the room and the pool and boardwalk in the back of the hotel means there is a constant flow of people coming back and forth. It’s fun, so many people is fun in Miami Beach. Food was great and the server was very friendly.

   We had the tasting menu and found that the dishes were hit and miss - some were great - others not so much. The wine pairings were not great. My favorite dish was the mango and artichoke salad. Also liked the corn pueblano and the ceviche. The room was nicely lit with candles. Overall, the experience was under-whelming.
