Used to be one of my favorite restaurants. The food is still excellent but our waiter was downright rude a couple of times. Maybe he was having a bad day but telling a guest he couldn't get a word in when she was just asking questions (and she was being polite) is not a recipe for repeat business. And then they really screwed up our check. They took care of it but even having it happen wasn't great. It sucks because this was one of my go to places.

This review is regarding the special black truffle menu that was featured in February 2018.
While the dishes themselves were interesting and tasted good, the 'truffle' aspect was an utter letdown. Instead of truffle being integrate or used in preparation or ingredients, the truffle was just sliced on top of each dish -- losing aroma and lacking any creativity.
Were it a normal meal I would not be as disappointed, but we attended for the special truffle menu!
To top it all off we were a group of 3 and all our dishes were plated on two plates instead of 1 or 3. In fact, for on dish which was served in a jar, we were only brought two and after pointing out that we were 3 people, had to wait until the third was prepared and brought out.

Great food and love the tapas style so you can try lots of different dishes. Favs are Stuffed Piquillo Peppers, Croquetas de Pollo, Jicama Wrapped Guacamole and Philly Cheesesteak. Our waitress, Precious, was fantastic! Ambiance is nice and great for groups and special celebrations.

Amazing date or small group experience. You start at the bar where they’re heavy on the foam and liquid nitrogen but all to successful extent, then are whisked over to their tapas section (private and communal tables), enjoy a la carte or tasting menu tapas featuring Spanish standards and New American twists, then a final landing on the other side of this delicious cavern in the patisserie for dessert. Also ok that side there are various displays of jewelry, artifacts etc.

We did 10 tapas, three cocktails, two desserts and coffee with a 20% tip (their service feels very Four Seasons) for $300. Spend it if you’ve got it, your date will be impressed.

The ambiance was hectic and the music was too loud and dance club-like. The server was not very attentive and it took drinks far too long to come out, more than once. The food is interesting, some dishes better than others - and the menu relys heavily on gimmicks. It's creative but expensive for what it is - gimmick over flavor or portion.

Got seated at a crappy tiny little bistro table for a party of 4. That doesn’t work based on multiple tapas dishes. Ridiculous and annoying.

I’ve been to 40+ countries and eaten at some of the best restaurants. This is my favorite restaurant in the whole world. When I lived in LA I’d here here a lot, now just when visiting. It’s truly a gastronomers paradise. Creative dishes, wonderful presentation. Trust me, it will be a wowing experience!
Favorite dishes:
Not your everyday caprese
Papas canarias
Chicken croquetas
Cotton candy foie gras
Philly cheesesteak
Brussel sprout salad
Caipirinha

Been many times over the years with great memories Now this venue has completely lost its charm. As soon as I was told it is now owned by Marriott, I understood why.

We were a party of four. Three people decided they wanted the chef's tasting menu, but we were told we all had to get it because it was "designed for four." Then most of the dishes came out either undivided or with five portions. So one person ended up committing to 16 dishes vs the three she would have chosen on her own, at a cost of approximately $50 more than her dinner would have been a la carte, all because the restaurant doesn't want customers to share. If three people are paying $100 each, and a fourth person is also ordering separately (not sitting there with a glass of water and a fork poised over her companions' plates), why does the restaurant CARE if anybody shares?

We were then moved out to the lounge for dessert (three more dishes and mediocre coffee). The lounge seating is very uncomfortable; the ambient temperature was cold; and the bathroom looks like a morgue. Not what we are used to at these prices.

We had a good time together, but only because we always do - not due to the dining experience.

I am not sure if the VIP of open table mean anything at all. My table was small for 5 guests . It was not busy at all.
The service was VERY unorganized
My friends ordered the cocktails but never came
Have to track down the server to get wine
Food came before the wine
Terrible organization, very disappointed
We still tipped the server because we are just nice
Food was good , that’s why we wanted to try it out.

Overall , Seevice was questionable and VIP of open table might not mean anything to them.

Fir a dinner for 2, expect to order 6-9 dishes. Everything we had was exceptional. Some standouts: the Japanese taco, Philly Cheesesteak. For drinks: cross-eyed Maria (sweet), Gopalito (earthy)

Went to Bazaar for my 4 year anniversary with my wife. Loved the atmosphere, service, and food selections. The cocktails were top notch. Our server was super helpful and gave some wonderful recommendations for food. We found the dessert "set-up/service" to be quite fun. I highly recommend this if you are looking for a unique and great experience.

I reserved a table for 2 for a birthday dinner and was assigned a small round table in a dark corner. When i asked the host to change to a bigger table, she said we only have two people so we could not sit there. But i saw other 4 seat table that only had 2 persons. We waited a long time so we just accepted it and sat.
When we moved to the dining room. Again i was put in a small table in a dark corner. I asked the host (the same african american girl) if we could move to the sofa table (there was another couple sitting there so i assumed it was ok for 2 people to sit there). I was shocked when she said: “i dont know. If they clean the table then you can sit there!” Then proceeded to walk away. When my server came, I requested another table and she gladly do it for us right away.

Everything was great but i did not have any good picture or a good table. The host totally ruined my experience. Not to mention that that was my birthday.

I've been to 6 Jose Andres restaurants and I found this to be the most uninspired. The ambiance of the restaurant ruined it. The restaurant is basically in the hotel lobby and it feels as such. The restaurant does not feel separate from the lobby and there were too many working girls. The food was good, the ingredients amazing. The drinks were ok but not great. The wine was excellent. The dessert was completely uninspired and moving into another area of the lobby for dessert was ridiculous. He could and has done better.

We had an excellent time. Every time we come the service is spectacular. This time I had wanted a wine paired with a special dish I had never ordered and our server was able to suggest a wonderful wine by the glass without asking the sommelier. We also wanted Dessert in the tea room afterwards, something we did not specify till the middle of our meal and they were also very gracious in getting us setup.

I had the pleasure of having dinner at the SLS Bazaar yesterday with a couple of friends and I must say that our server Ali was spectacular. He went over the restaurant shared plate concept and even went over the must haves dishes. I must say that the restaurant is a mesh of weird/modern antiquity, and that in itself is pretty unique. The manager, Denny even passed by our table and offered us Taitinger Brut champagne, and gave us a personalized tour of the restaurant. The food is very creative and I highly suggest you start with the cotton candy foie gras and/or the philly sandwich. They were delicious! Spectacular service all around from all SLS Bazaar teammates! I will surely visit again. Make sure to ask for Ali as a server!
