Meals were tasty, though the portions were a little small (for pasta dish).
Great service. Amazing food and atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
Four ladies for dinner celebrating a birthday, and everyone's meal was delicious. The service was outstanding. From assisting with wine and (honest) food selection, to the perfect amount of checking and we at no point felt rushed. We will be back.
Great service and food. We were really impressed. Underground parking is a plus and was easy to find.
The food was ok. Not amazing. But moreover the wine per glass was expensive. We paid 160 dollars for two which is alright however the food wasn’t worth the money. The cheese platter worth 20 had three small pieces of untreated cheese which was off putting. Wouldn’t go again. Ambience was good.
Our service did not go as smoothly as it should have but it was remedied quickly and we felt very well taken care of. Still one of my favourite places in Waterloo
Went for the full Irish Breakfast which had just been cancelled.
My omelette was cold and not very good. I assume it was cooked first and left while the others were prepared. My other members were OK with their meals.
Great service. Portion size is a little small. Beautiful facilities. One can judge a lot about a restaurant from the state of their bathroom - it was lovely and clean!
Great food will definitely be going again. Cost a few bucks but most worth every cent
Perfect for a work meeting, looked like a few of them were happening. Food was yummy. we had a perfect corner booth. Will definitely be more inclined to have similar lunches here.
Terrific as always!
Food was excellent. The wine per glass was expensive. The pear cheesecake was amazing. I enjoyed the ahi tuna and my wife had the prime rib special (on Sundays).
We booked our table for 6:45 but our table wasn’t ready until 7:20. The manager was very attentive and apologetic and brought us over complimentary appetizers.
Our server pleasant and attentive right up until the end when she forgot to refill my coffee after asking if I wanted a refill.
2 in our party ordered the salmon, including myself, which was dry.
It was a very busy night, over all a good experience.
Great dinner date at Bauer Kitchen. Tasty food, good service, is one of our favourite places to go in KW.
We had a great time celebrating our family day brunch. Steak and Eggs is one of the best dishes I've ever had. Will be back!
Excellent service from the moment we arrived. Great menu options, ambience, reasonably priced. Convenient location. Server was courteous, friendly and down to earth. Would definitely go again and recommend to friends.
Went for Valentine’s Day and it was great. Special menu was really tasty and the server was awesome. Great spot for a romantic dinner!
We had a blast celebrating our Valentines Day. Great place, great food and awesome server Jacklyn.
always a good meal at Bauer Kitchen. prices for some things are on the higher end of what you would expect (eg $27 for gnocci) but the quality is always top notch
Amazing! Lovely time there.
Service and food are great. The ambience is less than perfect because of high noise levels from guests and from music. However, this seems to be a trend in all restaurants, even those of high quality like this one.
The service during our time at THE was excellent. Our waitress was so attentive, quick on her feet, friendly and went beyond expectations.
Had a fabulous dinner and our server was excellent!
Our food selections were excellent!....my granddaughter enjoyed the burger and I the Cod fish special.......they had a very generous order of fries with each entre! Although we were tucked into a corner in hopes of a quieter spot, it was very noisy in the restaurant.....
Love this place...great atmosphere.. great service and food... no rush to eat and run... had a great night w friends. Always a great choice
Excellent service, portions, and ambiance for business lunch.
Food was great...the wife and i both had steak with carrot cake. Service was excellent and quick.
Very good food, great service, nice decor. A bit noisy. We would recommend it.
Our server Natika was excellent.
Some unique food parings.
We will be back.
Had taken my date there and the pair at the front desk were very accommodating and sat us to our table. Undecided about the wine choice, server requested a sample of the chardonnay. ended up ordering a glass and a glass of Pinot Grigio. waited a little longer than usual for the wine. ordered an app (calamari) and our mains. Ordered the Seared Atlantic Salmon and the Cabernet Short Rib Gnocchi. App came out again a little longer than it should for an app. Taste was just ok. Batter was light and crispy, but lacked flavor. The breaded hot peppers added a spice if you were lucky to get one, my date did and she was not a fan of heat, so that was a surprise to her. The Dill Remoulade was a nice dip. Mains came shortly after. The salmon was on the smaller portion size and the beet juice was very bland. No taste or spice, nothing. Just watered down beet juice. Not satisfying at all. All the veggies and potatoes were in the beet juice thus making the meal very boring. The Gnocchi, my date said was flavourful but again, not like The Bauer Kitchen should be. We felt the menu for dinner was a little on the light side for ordering other than steak and the prices were a bit high for what you got on your plate. So again, for my first time there, I was not satisfied and wouldn't be bothered if I didn't go back. Nice atmosphere and very open, but for a date night, not too concerned about what else is there, but what's on the table and in front of me. The server was very attentive and knew her wines, at least from the whites.
We have been here before for special occasions and came back for our daughters birthdays because we really enjoyed previous experiences. Reservation for 6 adults with apps, drinks and main course - things didn’t start off well when we had to return a glass of wine because it was musty. The waiter was less than impressed. Main dishes were ok with the exception of the short rib - it was very good but other dishes were cold and less than average. I was embarrassed because my husband and I treated. The waiter never came back until everything was cleared. He asked if we were celebrating something special and we told him about the 2 birthdays. 2 tables around us had birthday cakes and candles - we got nothing. We were rushed out with the bill. When we asked for a piece of cake and candle it was provided- but we felt quite uncomfortable.
Very disappointing- the experience prior was by far better. Would not go back if this is the new norm.
We arrived at the Bauer Kitchen for a brunch reservation at 12:30. It was quite busy and we had to wait a couple of minutes for our table to be cleared. The service was prompt and the server was quite pleasant. We ordered our coffees and waters and those came promptly. At this time we ordered our meals. Two of us had Eggs Benedict and the other had a variety of sides for brunch. Although it took quite a while for our food to come, the flavour was excellent. There was plenty as the Eggs Benedict came with hash browns and a small bowl of fruit cocktail, and consequently we were full when we left. Oh yes, the Eggs Benedict came on a freshly baked biscuit as well. That too was excellent. We plan to head there whenever we are in K-W again. Highly recommended by all three of us.
Been at the Bauer Kitchen several times but this time was the first time for a Sunday lunch. I was expecting the regular menu and not just breakfast items. I should have checked the Sunday menu before. It was also very busy and noisy. I should keep my routine of going only during the week.
Always a good meal with good service. Constantly tasty menu items.
Great service and excellent food thanks
Excellent food and service. The brussels sprouts and spuds are a must. Delicious
Server was great, food was ok. Sat by the window and was freezing whole meal even with my coat over my legs. Food was good but is too expensive for what you get.
This restaurant is a bit tricky to find for someone not from Waterloo - the address is King St. but the sign faces a side street. The parking lot/underground was absolute chaos on a Saturday lunch, but we found free, easy street parking. Then the entrance to get into the actual restaurant is also not well marked. BUT all the stress of getting there was worth it as the food was exceptional. Amazing flavour combos cooked to perfection. Great service, very reasonable price point for the quality of the meal. A noisy, busy dining room, so not for the hard of hearing on a busy Saturday brunch hour, but great vibe. I will definitely return.
Went for Sunday brunch with two others. The food was delicious and the server was prompt to take our order and replenish coffee but did a great job of not interrupting our conversation. It's a popular spot so I recommend making a reservation!
NOT WORTH THE MONEY!! Spinach on the pizza was frozen and tasted bad. My boyfriend sent his steak back. Was still mooing on the plate and very fatty. Even our waitress said she wouldn’t eat it.
