The Bauer Kitchen is an energetic up-market 'bistro' set in a SoHo inspired, restored felt factory. The industrial steel, concrete floors, reclaimed wood and custom lighting combine to create a uniquely warm backdrop for your dining experience. Chef Brian McCourt has assembled a spectacular menu of classic items prepared with the freshest local ingredients. An extensive ‘wine by the glass’ menu has been created by our sommelier to pair perfectly with each menu item.

Everything was quiet good except for the charcuterie board. I was very disappointed in the lack of variety of foods presented. I would definitely not order it again nor would I recommend that menu item. The burgers were delicious and I would come back for another.

We went to the restaurant for our 3 year anniversary. We had been there before for a friend's birthday and just fell in love with the location, service, food, and just everything! We were so engrossed in the occasion that we didn't even touch our phones or watches. Our server was a saint in server clothing. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and so personable.
As always, the food was delicious. We sampled each others food and thought their food was great. If I had to pick one complaint, my granddaughter ( 1 1/2 yrs old ) had the French toast which was good, and we didn't put the maple syrup on her toast, but when my son finished her toast he added the syrup and it was hot ( Tabasco sauce ? ). If there was a plain version we didn't get it.
The dining experience was great - our waitress was great - I appreciated her wine recommendation and I really liked it - our entire party enjoyed their meals - I thought mine was exceptional - would actually order it again! Restaurant has a great vibe - have eaten here before and have never been disappointed
Overall experience was good. Food took a long time to arrive and my guests meal (waffle) was overdone, real crispy. Hostess brought another one out but it was also overdone, not as bad as the first one though. The hostess offered to reduce the charge for the meal which was nice, but my guest didn't have as good of an experience as I had expected.
Awesome experience, will be dropping in more often. Now my memory is bad but our waitress was awesome!!!! Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, no idea of how she could have improved!! Please pass on a big thank you. She made the experience even more enjoyable.
A reunion of high school friends was made even more special by the ambiance, service and amazing food and drinks! Mason was stellar as a waiter, offering choices, searching out the perfect drinks and letting us chill, chat and laugh without feeling like we had to clear out for the next round of guests. Food was amazing and when in the area will definitely be back.
We had to wait at the bar for our table even though we had a reservation (party of 8). The place was very busy for a Saturday night. It was worth the wait. Our server was delightful and very knowledgeable about the food. Try the short ribs and gnocchi, it was delicious and warming on a cold rainy night. The other dish I recommend is the smoked chicken and artichoke tortgilioni (rigatoni-like pasta).
The place is very vibrant and the atmosphere is great for groups. Please note there is not a lot of street parking but there is free parking at the back of the building complex. The entrance to the restaurant is in the middle of the buildings. A few of our group member had difficulty finding it.

I had my 22nd birthday here, and they certainly did not disappoint! The atmosphere and service are excellent. This is one of those "nicer places" (restaurants that you should wear proper pants to) where you can stay to chat and enjoy the full dining experience without the unecessary pretentiousness. It's a little expensive for my student budget, but overall it is money well spent.
The food was very good, as per usual. However, the service was terrible. The server blamed the kitchen for having problems, this was after ordering a French 75 and having her come back 2x to asked what I had ordered. I asked her to have the bartender google the recipe, I then was presented with a Martini.
Two out of the four dinners came to the table, we waited 5+ minutes before she came back to the table, I asked where the other two dinners were...she told me that they were having kitchen problems and that they would be along. After another 5+ minutes we were told that these plates were for another table.
As someone who has had a very successful career and owner in the food industry I found it offensive that she would switch the blame on the kitchen when in fact it was she who needs to pursue another industry career.
I am pretty sure that if the kitchen crew reads this review they will not be happy!
Full disclosure here - after our recent failed anniversary dinner at this restaurant the general manager Cindy reached out & offered us a credit on our next meal if we would give them a second chance. We accepted the offer, but this does mean the restaurant was aware of our return engagement & that another review might ensue.
That said - they killed it. Our server Jacqueline was fantastic - she was personable, engaging, attentive & hilarious. She burned me majorly with a joke about forgetting to order my dinner & it was like reconnecting with an old friend even though we'd never met her before. In fact she was one of the best servers we've ever had at any restaurant.
The food was very good. Everything arrived quickly, was piping hot & cooked to perfection. The charcuterie board was very good with a good variety of meats & the house pickled onions were delicious with a hint of licorice in the taste. Mains were also very good - my wife's Bauer burger was tasty & huge, the fries were hot & spot on. My daughter took Jacqueline's recommendation & ordered the baked portobello mushroom & charred rapini - the portion was large & very flavorful. The tomato sauce base was a touch spicy for her taste, but the pairing with the white beans & mushrooms was spot on. I had the special & my lamb shanks were good, not great, but the red wine pearl barley was stellar.
We finished as usual with a shared dessert board. Still a great choice for those of us who like to share our desserts with each
Thanks to Cindy, Jacqueline & the Bauer team we've put them back in our rotation & will be back again in the future!
