The Battle House Renaissance Mobile Hotel & Spa - The Trellis Room
Bread was delicious! Menu was a lot smaller than what is on Open Table and the appetizer I had my heart set on wasn’t available but I still found something delicious to eat. The bread was amazing!
Always a favorite!
Quick service. Great food. Nice wine selection. I had steak which was cooked perfectly. You could cut it with a fork.
We chose the trellis room for business dinner upon late arrival to town . Food service and ambiance were excellent . The hotel and restaurant have beautiful decor to match
Very special dinner for two. Kathryn was attentive, knowledgeable & pleasant. Diver clams were large & succulent and well presented on a delicious base. Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand was superb! A perfect evening!
We had a terrific experience on our trip to Mobile and our night out at The Trellis was outstanding. The food was great, but even better was the service and attention from the staff that made our evening a great experience.
Pleasant environment, food is simple but delicious.
And under-looked gem in downtown Mobile. A beautiful room, attentive service and consistently excellent food. Party of 6 for dinner prior to a Saenger show, with no duplicated dishes and everyone was pleased with their food. We have found this to be true each time we go.....
I’ve dined here several times & have always had a wonderful experience. My party was celebrating 2 birthdays, and enjoyed the experience. The pan seared Scallops with risotto was delicious, as was the Local Grouper with roasted corn purée. Compliments to Vlad & his amazing staff.
Wonderful service. Very clean restaurant. Pleasant staff throughout, including the Chef. Thank you.
The food was good, the service was good. It was expensive. While good, the quality of the food did not match the price. There are many other restaurants in Mobile that provide better food/service for the money. But it was good.
I recommend the shrimp and crab omelet
Always a great and intimate experience for my family. They remember us each time and go out of the way to make sure we have a great evening.
The Battle House is a lovingly restored ante-bellum hotel in the heart of Mobile and the hotel's signature dining room is equally impressive. Our dinner was good, not spectacular, but the beautiful room and the impeccable service made for a lovely evening. The restaurant manager, Vladimir, oversaw the operation with old world grace and authority. The hotel and restaurant alone would bring us back to Mobile anytime.
Food was good but to have only 3 tables with people at them the waitress wasn’t attentive enough. She just needs a little coaching on waiting tables.
My husband and I love everything about the Trellis Room. This was the 3rd anniversary we celebrated there. The food and staff is excellent!
Overall, The Trellis Room was great, and we would come again. Service could have been better. We visited on Mardi Gras Day. When we sat down only one other table was occupied. We were only given bread once we asked (during main course) after we noticed newer tables being seated had bread baskets. It took well over an hour to receive our main course, just shy of 2 hours for entire meal service. One of our filets was ordered medium plus, came out well done. In all fairness, we didn’t say anything, so I’m sure they would have made it right, but it had taken so long at that point and we were tired. My friend that was served that filet said taste was still good and it was still tender. Meal was very good, only issue was the incredibly slow service, and lack of attention to the details, such as the bread.
Birthday celebration was fabulous
Tiffany glass in the ceiling! But don’t let the elegant old style fool you, menu is up to date with great selections! We had 2 small plates and split the Shrimp and Grits, outstanding!
Great service and food was amazing
Valentine dinner’s preset menu was great.
Great food and service
It was a amazing first time experience. The waitress was very nice, food was delicious, and a very quiet romantic environment.
The ambience is very nice. Dining room is decorated beautifully, it's quiet, warm & inviting. The service was excellent & the food was delicious. For appetizers, I got the crab cakes & my husband got the smoked shrimp. Neither one disappointed. For dinner. we both got the fresh catch of the day, cobia, prepared either by grilling or blackened served on a bed of mushroom & corn risotto with wilted spinach. Excellant. For dessert, we shared a slice of strawberry cheesecake. Delicious! Oh and we had a very nice chardonnay, "Complicated by Taken Wine Company. We have been disappointed by so many downtown restaurants. This experience for us was noteworthy & we will return & recommend! It's on the expensive side - splurge category - but it is fine dining.
The Trellis at the Battle House Renaissance is a wonderful restaurant. We both had the scallops, and they were perfectly prepared and truly delicious. For dessert we had the crème Brule and the bread pudding, and both were excellent. Service was ideal throughout.
My husband and I were at the hotel for a ticketed event and thought of having dinner at the Trellis Room. We looked at the menu online and found items that we were both very fond of and things you just don't find in the deep south normally; booked a reservation only to find out the menu had changed and the items we were so looking forward to were removed. Sorry to say we left without ordering. I can get the fare offered any where else and really wanted something different. We both were very disappointed indeed.
Everything was great, as always! Olga is always a friendly face to see on Saturdays.
Didn’t really need a reservation. Waitress looked at me funny when I said we had reservations. We had the place to our selves. DH had buffet not his favorite way to eat but he enjoyed it. Their biscuits and gravy are good. Seafood omelette was okay (felt it needed a sauce). Hash browns were good. The stained glass above the seating area is beautiful.
We go to the Trellis Room for special occasions because of the food, ambience, and service. All are superb. I had the best prepared medium rare filet that I have ever eaten there last week and the server, Katheryn, made the night fun and special.
Great Christmas Eve dinner. We enjoyed the meal. The service was very good.
Everything was perfect for our family Christmas Eve dinner. Nothing could have been better!
Great service from Kathryn.
Our food was excellent as usual and our server, Katherine, made the evening very special with her knowledge of the menu and her delightful personality. We were celebrating a birthday and the Trellis Room treated us to dessert.
The Trestle at the Battle House is a beautiful restaurant in that it is from another century and the décor is simple, but elegant. The table settings are appropriate for a white table cloth restaurant. The food was excellent and well presented. My grandson especially enjoyed the smoked shrimp cocktail actually served with the smoke.
The servers knew the menu and were very attentive, but not intrusive.
Attentive staff, without hovering.
Food was good, but nothing exceptional....they are on their way...I'd go back.
Food and service was exceptional. Great quality of food and good price point.
We ate dinner at the Trellis Room Saturday Night. While the ambiance and service was great, the food was average (neither my wife or myself are very picky). I had the leg of Lamb which tasted fine but was a little dry and the potatoes were under cooked. My wife had the seared diver scallops which she enjoyed but the risotto was salty, she couldn’t finish it. Over all we enjoyed the Trellis Room.
My filet was the best I’ve ever had! The salad was incredible! Kat was an exceptionally good server, and the chef even came out to our table to see how our meals were! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there and would highly recommend it to others! Enjoyed taking pictures of the hotel lobby; a beautiful hotel! A+
Worst dining experience ever! White bean soup was just beans and very salty. Ordered risotto with steak and got mashed potatoes. Waiter knocked over a full glass of wine ($89 bottle). Waiter obviously not familiar with menu and had a communication issue. Several people came out to apologize; one of us didn’t get their food until the rest of us finished. Got free dessert which was mediocre. Will not come back or recommend
Pretty mediocre for a high end restaurant. Food was very bland. Pretty but not tasty
