Best Mexican in the UK. The corn ribs and birria - wow. Margaritas made perfectly and a welcoming, bright and joyful environment. Couldn’t recommend more and can’t wait to be back.

We had the best time! Service was great, staff are always lovely and food is delicious. Not to be missed, the margaritas are 10/10 as well.

Main issue with this visit was eating in the bar rather than restaurant. I had noted in comments at time of booking our preference was to eat in restaurant as dogs are allowed in bar & one of my party has severe allergic reaction to dogs. Did ask on being shown our table to move to restaurant but told not possible. Is disappointing given I had advised of allergies when booking.

Hi Katrina, Thank you for your feedback, unfortunately we were unable to sit you in the restaurant side due to a larger party needing to take up that space and it would not have been possible to sit you there as well We allow dogs in both sides of the building, not just the bar side for future reference We appreciate this was disappointing for you, we will always try to accommodate booking request, unfortunately it is not always possible We hope to see you again Thanks The Basement Team

What a fantastic little gem. Very cool,laid back vibe. Beautiful food and best Margaritas I've had in a long time. I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend xx

Service was excellent, everyone so friendly. The cocktails were great and the food was really nice, especially the churros. Lively and cosy atmosphere in the bar.

The halloumi tacos and elote are delicious, the chicken for the fajitas is high quality and a very generous portion is served. I highly recommend this place but make sure to book in advance for weekends/ busy times as there is limited seating.

Five girls went out for food before going to the theatre. All the servers were brilliant, however our main server had great personality and really made the experience a fun and memorable one at the same time doing a great job of upselling in a friendly way without pressure. We enjoyed tacos and some small plates which came out quickly and were very good. The Moulin Rouge inspired French Martini cocktail was especially good. We really enjoyed our time at The Basement - thank you.
