The Barrymore - Inside Royal Resort Las Vegas

Very mid Century Modern, loved the live music. The food was fantastic.
The Barrymore is a step into the past with a darker romantic setting. The service was very good as well as the food. We used the Travelzoo special which we would recommend.
The steaks were good, the chicken was not...it was dry with no taste. The location was somewhat undesirable.
The place was empty, the server was standoffish and the food was inedible
I have already recommended to coworkers.
Definitely will go back!!!!!
A hidden gem! Do yourself a favor and go. One of the best meals I have ever had. Small, quiet room, excellent service from everyone (Hostess to Wait Staff to Manager---we met them all). My wife said that her Filet was the best she has EVER had.
This might be our new special occasion "go to" place.
The food was very good and tasty. Musicians that were playing were very good as well.
The Barrymore was just what we hoped it would be...great food, ambiance and wonderful service...We highly recommend!!! A must go to experience.
We loved the ambiance!!!! Staff was very attentive and helpful with suggestions.
All the steaks were cooked perfectly and to order.
Couldn't have had a better experience for my daughter's 21st birthday dinner.
Best kept secret in Vegas!!
Do yourself a favor and treat you and your guests to an excellent cozy dining experience.
The atmosphere, service, and the food were all fantastic!
I will definitely go back.
I hate to give a negative review when the services was so good. However, both my steak and my husbands was under cooked. They took my steak back 3 times and still was raw on the 4th time I told them to just forget it. I wasn't charged but then I had no steak to eat. I don't think I will be back but you never know. I do like to give people another chance. Great service and nice atmosphere. Also, easy to park and get in the place unlike the big casino steakhouses.
The manager Brian should not be working in the service industry.
His horrible attitude ruined our dining experience
This is by far the best value for a steak in Vegas.
The ambiance is really amazing, the waiter was knowledgeable about the menu, the wine/champagne and the history of the restaurant (which is actually really interesting).
The food was not overly expensive and was perfectly done and presented. Was really a great experience and would recommend to anyone looking for something special. It’s a hidden gem. Don’t be put off by the parking lot, park at the hotel.
We arrived a bit early and were graciously taken over to a back dining room with beautiful decor and a staff of extremely lovely servers; our particular server was Stephen and he was wonderful. We each ordered cocktails, a Manhattan style “Barrymore” and “not your mother’s fuzzy navel”- both of which were delicious. Every dish was prepared and presented beautifully; and tasted even more passed our expectations. We split a Caesar salad and smoked bacon appetizer, and enjoyed “the Gaucho” skirt steak and Roasted chicken entrees before completely filling up and regretfully declining dessert. We were however given a complimentary, beautiful Japanese Cheesecake dessert with blueberry lavender sorbet- and it was off the charts. Next time we come to Vegas we will certainly be back here.
A hidden gem. Excellent food and service. Great atmosphere, romantic and elegant.
Great food and outstanding service- the staff is top notch.
We had reservations here on our anniversary. Restaurant is situated in old hotel off the strip. Restaurant is decorated like old Vegas with movie reels lining the ceiling. Was seated immediate upon arrival. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. We had the chopped salad which was probably best salad we had this trip. My husband and I both ordered steach which were cooked perfectly. I had baked potato which was huge.
For dessert we had the banana split which the restaurant sent as an anniversary gift. Was very delicious. Extensive wine list. Would highly recommend eating here especially if you wanted to eat off the strip.
Entire staff were friendly .
Kept waiting for the Rat Pack to walk through the door. Great food and service made the meal perfect. Our party of 6 started with oysters Rockefeller, crab cake, and lobster mac and cheese. All were very good with the crab cake standing out. Steaks for entrees. I had the bone-in ribeye which was particularly good. My dining companions had filets topped with crab Oscar. We also ordered the available sauces. The consensus was the meat was delicious and well cooked. Great sides really complimented the meal: cauliflower au gratin, cream corn, Brussel sprouts, and Parmesan rissoto. All very good but the cauliflower was stupid good. Only negative was I let myself get talked out of the wine I initially chose for another similarly priced bottle. Unfortunately it was just ok. Bottom line...I would go back tonight if I lived in Vegas.
Location/hotel was a surprise...but holy cow the food!!!! Service was beyond expectations too. Thank you. I really hope to see you somewhere nicer on exterior. Or royal picks back up to meet you at higher level. Cheers
A hidden gem of Old Vegas!
We came after carefully reaching out to multiple restaurants to ensure the safety of my partner who had a severe egg allergy. They told us they woulsake every single effort to not allow any cross contamination pertaining to the egg allergy.
Unfortunately they dis not suceed in keeping her safe with her allergy and she still suffered an allergic reaction wherein she couldn't eat her dinner (which was +$70 after appetizers and dinner) and we had a near death experience having to administer benedryl and then later an epi pen.
It was my birthday night. I turned 30 but couldn't enjoy dinner as my partner fell sick.
The staff were very friendly and I understand they did their best but it's important for you to understand that you didnt do well enough the in the kitchen. It could have been a simple change of knifes or cutting bored or cooing on a surface lot clean enough.
We tip we for our requirements as we understand the significance and seriousness of the allergic but prior conversations and day off and for the price we paid for this meal we expected more.
She we t home nearly dying and needed benedryl and am epi pen within 45 mins of finished the appetizers they said would be okay.
We were super excited to try this restaurant out after several friends shared how great the food and ambiance were. We were super disappointed, after our first course we left due to the poor service (it was like we were an afterthought) and mediocre food. We don't get many date nights out, and we didn't want to waste our night on this experience. It was too bad because the lounge was great! Nice live music and pretty yummy cocktails.
My filet had a little gristle on it and not as tender as I had hoped for. The prices I believe are pretty high! The ambience is amazingly beautiful, and I think it’s a great place to eat! I’m sorry that I forgot my camera! I thought my granddaughter’sNew York strip could’ve been a little bit more tender too, considering that they are aged steaks!
Fabulous, from food to customer service. Lovely ambience, great knowledgeable staff.
Loved the music, perfect for the bar area and when we moved to the dining area it was enjoyable to still be able to hear it but it was not so loud as to interfere with our conversation, which was perfect.
Staff was friendly, witty, knowledgeable and fun.
Great experience overall.
Best steakhouse I’ve ever dined at. Whenever I’m in town this is my must go-to place.
Been to the Barrymore many times, it is our anniversary go to. The food is always outstanding and the cocktails are exceptionally good. The intimate atmosphere, amazing service and overall vibe will keep is coming back again and again. We always feel like special guests, the way you ought to on any visit, whether it's an occasion or just a nice night out.
The Barrymore has a classic Las Vegas feel that is really refreshing. The food is very good, but I truly loved the ambiance the most. It was a nice change from the touristy feel of many restaurants near The Strip. Service was excellent, and prices were comparable to other restaurants with similar menus.
The Barrymore is one of Las Vegas' hidden gems. Emphasis on "hidden". Located between the Wynn, Peppermill, and Convention Center, this has quickly become my go-to steakhouse when I am in Vegas. An tribute to Lionel Barrymore (Drew's great uncle) is cozy and charming. Happy hour from 5-7 in the bar or out on the small patio is great. Top-notch staff, bartender, and live music at a volume that allows conversation at your table -- a rare combination to be sure. None of that would matter if the steaks were not good, an fortunately they do not disappoint. Prime cuts, cooked correctly -- I had the fillet. Sides were fresh and flavorful -- asparagus, mushrooms, brussel sprouts. Try the bone marrow appetizer (on the happy our menu) and indulge in the bacon if you dare. I hate to share how good this place is, because I fear I might not get a reservation on my return, but I cannot let such a gem stay hidden for long. Do not let the lobby of the hotel confuse you, this is a high-end spot, that is in need of a separate entrance.
We wanted an “off-the-strip” experience for our special Vegas steak dinner. I had been here a few years back. It didn’t disappoint then and it didn’t disappoint this time. Great steaks (from indulgent filets to big beautifully marbled Kansas City strip loins) all expertly prepared, plus excellent sides, a selection of indulgent appetizers, and a cocktail and drink menu fit for a king. Don’t get sucked into the overpriced “get you in, get you out” mindsets of steak restaurants on the strip. Venture off a bit for this stellar service and food experience.
The Barrymore is a spot I truly want to love. Starting from its' off the beaten path location up near Circus Circus, to the time long past hotel lobby, to the decor that brings you back in time. I have been here before and it was great, but on this trip the food was not good (and that should be the prime reason you go to the restaurant). The $60 bone in dry aged rib eye that I ordered medium was grey all the way thru and very chewy. There was one small pink spot near the bone. I probably should have sent it back....but I had not eaten lunch in anticipation of coming here....so I was starving. The Barrymore steak sauce is basically a cup of ketchup. The cream corn with lobster was ok but the bacon in it is just too well done and chewy.
The host staff service was strange. I had a reservation for 1, but was asked if I wanted to eat at the bar. When I said I would like a table, it was very confusing?? The waitstaff was very good and prompt.
This is truly a hidden gem! When you pull up to the hotel you might question if you want to go inside, then you walk through the door of the Barrymore and are in a beautiful classy establishment. The decor is unique and impressive and amazing he service even better. The food was beyond expectation well prepared and a ton of attention to detail. We will be back for sure.
This might be one of the best "hidden" gems right off the Strip. Cool vibe, great food, outstanding service...what more can you want?! I almost don't want to recommend this place to keep it all to myself, but I'm going to tell all who are heading to Vegas about it if looking for that perfect steak house when in town. Thanks again!
Lovely place! Out group had a delicious dinner. Great quiet ambiance.
One of my very favorite restaurants in Vegas. Once a local, now just a tourist, I will continue to visit this gem!
The service and ambiance of the restaurant absolutely great. Quality service from start to finish. The decor and cleanliness of the dining area were some of the best I've experienced. The food depended on what we were eating. The lobster mac and cheese was the best I have ever had. They don't skimp on the lobster and the it was good great. The side of garlic risotto was also a great choice. For the entre, I ordered the duck confit which was nothing to write home about. Same with my wife's entire of the linguini with clams was a bit on the oily side. I think had I ordered something different I may have had a better food experience.
This is by far the best meal I've had in a long time. The drinks (expertly crafted) were top-notch. Our waitress was fabulous and directed us on what to order. As for the food, there are not words. The bacon appetizer was incredible. Definitely not what we were expecting but 100% better. It's a must to order. Two of ordered the chicken parmesan and we both thought it was great, and if you are a fan of truffles, you will love the polenta. My husband had the short rib and it's ruined him for other short rib meals. Please do not me turned off by the fact that it's not in a fancy hotel on the strip...we were a little nervous at first. But, this is restaurant should not be missed. We will be going back in January for our next trip to Vegas.
The pictures were misleading. It’s inside a dilapidated timeshare building that was honestly a little sketchy. The ambiance was so dark we had to use cell phones to see the menu. There was a live singer which was a nice touch. The staff was professional and the food was decent but a little greasy and no where near with what we paid for it. Spend a little more and get better food closer to the strip.
It’s rare to find a restaurant with good food that has a quiet ambiance and excellent service. This was a good find! Our server was super friendly and professional, our food was delicious (oysters Rockefeller, steak and salmon) and we could actually converse without shouting! It was an easy walk from our hotel and I would definitely recommend the Barrymore!
