The Barrymore - Inside Royal Resort Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
The atmosphere was off in this place. Although there was live music in the bar area the dining room had an odd feeling of quietness. The manager on duty did not make us feel comfortable or welcome which was a brief downside to a fantastic meal. The food was great. I highly recommend the bone marrow and Parmesan risotto.
We had a very enjoyable evening at The Barrymore. it is an unexpected gem, located in the Royal Resort, a bit off the beaten track just off the Strip to the northeast. The bar and restaurant are small but cozy, and beautifully decorated in a retro movie theme, with movie reels covering the ceiling. The place has a very intimate feel. There was a jazz pianist performing in the bar, with a pretty young vocalist who looked as if she stepped right out of a 1950s Turner Classics movie. But the real surprise was the food and wine. From the outside of this place, you'd never guess that it serves outstanding food and has an amazing wine menu and a trained sommelier. This is straightforward, classic steakhouse style at a moderate price, probably 20-30 percent lower than others on the Strip. The filets we ordered were perfectly done. The grilled asparagus was fork-tender, and the creamed corn with lobster was luxurious and flavorful. And one of the best Caesar salads I've had, with just the right amount of garlicky dressing. The sommelier steered me to an affordable red blend that was among the best I've ever tasted. The staff at The Barrymore is exceptional too. We found them to be uniformly friendly, welcoming, and anxious to make sure our experience was first-rate. They seemed proud of their hidden jewel! We will definitely go back again.
Its not often that a restaurant impresses me the way that the Barrymore did. A lot of care and attention goes into making the food... it was obvious. Everything was excellent and cant wait to get back to do it all again. Quite possibly, the best meal I have ever had.
What a lovely dining room. We loved the old fashioned booths - so comfortable - and the nice lounge music playing in the background. We enjoyed some delicious oysters to start. Our steaks were perfect - MrM had the bone in striploin with blue cheese crust and it was amazing. I had the filet with a side of bernaise and it was delicious as well. Friendly service. Would definitely recommend. Lovely bar area too, with a great outdoor patio.
I arranged dinner for six for a business dinner with our CEO, as The Barrymore was near his hotel. We had a great table and the low noise level allowed us to have good conversation all around. I ordered the $59 ribeye. It was very tough, but I chose not to say anything. Later, when dining with two other coworkers who were there, it was mentioned that their steaks were tough as well. I know one person really enjoyed her fish, but at least three of the six were disappointed with the food and would not go back.
Overall very nice experience. We were celebrating our Anniversary and wanted something special. Very attentive staff. We definitely got kissed on.
The food was great. Best Salmon ive ever had. Lobster mac appetizer is a must. Great wine selection and the red was served at just the right temp!
The Barrymore is a wonderful hidden gem. Everything was perfect, Luis was very attentive, professional, and gave us exceptional service. The food was outstanding, from the foie gras and tuna tartare, to the short rib and salmon. Everything was perfect. The atmosphere was very intimate and relaxing. Will definitely come back, and recommend to others also.
My daughter and I had been wanting to dine here. We happened to go on the last day of restaurant week. We had two options on a special menu. I chose one my daughter the other. Everything was delicious. Unfortunately both our desserts we out. We couldn't wait for more to arrive, because we had a show to attend. The cook was so classy he paid for our drinks. Didn't catch his name or was unable to meet him this time around. Will definitely make sure I do next visit.
We heard so much about this place and finally made it. It was better then we expected. The room was small but very inviting, the drinks were great, wonderful wine list and the service was spot on. Food was better then expected and we will be back for both food and service.
The food was outstanding!! Has escargot, scallops, ny strip, wedge salad, old fashion for a cocktail and 2 desserts. The food was remarkable and very good. The service was mediocre at best. The hostess was blah, the server was awful. He was nice but really terrible. We felt bad for the guy. The busser was outstanding and would have made a much better server.
Probably one of my top favorite restaurants in Las Vegas so far. Came here for restaurant week and the food was amazing. We also came early for a happy hour drink at the bar. The live music set the perfect tone for the evening. We will definitely be back for dinner, happy hour and maybe patio dining when it's cooler. Thank you Barrymore!
Gorgeous, sexy space with just a few tables and banquettes in a lush space. Food was delicious - the shrimp cocktail and smoked bacon were favorites. The service (while friendly) was off - appetizers arrived before they had taken our wine order, plates cleared while one guest still eating, waiter stood at our table chit chatting for quite a while, difficulty getting the attention of staff. For $115/person (appetizer, entree each and one shared $75 bottle of wine) .... we expected a bit more professionalism on the service side.
While the Steak was exceptional, the food was very rich...a bit too heavy for summer. We enjoyed the singer and piano, but while they were on break, we would have preferred similar style lounge music as opposed to the new agey chill jazz. Service was very attentive, but the relaxed dress of the staff didn't quite fit the elegance of the restaurant. We chose this for an anniversary dinner and overall feel that it was a bit of a disappointment. Not quite the classic elegance of old school Vegas we were looking for.
Absolutely fantastic meal. Second time here - this time for restaurant week, so we got two different tasting menus and everything was great. This is definitely a meal that is an experience, not a quick bite. The scallops were the absolute best bite of the whole meal. Can't recommend this place highly enough!
