The food was really tasty and hot. Everything came up quickly too. I enjoyed the music and the relaxed atmosphere.
In kind of an older hotel - the restaurant is worth a visit vs.other big name spots in a vegas. Within walking distance from the Encore - terrific steaks - great service - small and intimate - huger end price wise - but on par with more recognizable restaurants - you won't be sorry
The staff is vibrant and on top of their game. The cocktails are made with care and can be matched by none other. The food is beautifully plated and perfectly delicious. This is a great gem, a little off the beaten path, for both small groups or an intimate setting for two. Perfect for a special occasion or "just because". Although casual clothing would be tolerated, it's a swanky place, dress appropriately.
Don't let the location fool you; tucked inside of a remodeled older hotel and hidden from the glow of the Strip, is a very cool restaurant with great food and an even better ambiance. The dining areas are intimate and cozy, but the tables are well placed. Staff was attentive and our group of 6 had a great time and we will be back soon.
This is NOT the place for an intimate, elegant retro Vegas dining experience as advertised. Rather, the restaurant clearly caters primarily to groups, with large tables in the middle of both dining rooms. As a result, all diners must endure the boorish behavior and sloppy attire of the partiers. The "sound problem" described by a previous diner has not been solved. There must be a poorly placed volume control somewhere, as the background music level would suddenly jump from pleasant to earsplitting, making even the waiters cringe. The kitchen delivers nicely prepared meals, but without the elegant atmosphere, many of the dishes are overpriced.
I loved the ambiance here! Cozy seems like the most fitting word to me. It's an intimate space with about 10-15 tables and delicious food. We were surprised it wasn't a full house. It is a bit off the beaten path of the strip but well worth it! We each ordered a filet, I also got a lobster tail, my sister got a caesar salad, and then we shared roasted brussel sprouts and sauteed spinach. The steak, lobster, and salad were great but the sides were amazing!! The brussel sprouts were so delicious, my mouth waters just thinking about them! Please go check this place out. You won't regret it!
Find this place! Great drinks, food & ambiance!
The decor and ambiance made me feel like I took a step back in time.
The food was wonderful, but the salmon was a little more fishy-tasting than I would expect from a place like this.
The only thing I would suggest is that the server or hostess offer to call you a taxi--us out of towners weren't sure how to do so after our meal since the hotel did not have a pick-up service.
Great food and service. However, additional $2 for steak sauce and $7 for side dish are a little expensive.
I've been to Barrymore four times, and the last time was by far the best. They used to have fairly loud music that interfered with conversation, but that has been fixed. This romantic art-deco restaurant is a little treasure, something very unique in Vegas and extremely welcome. Do yourself a favor and try it. You will be telling your friends about it.
Everything about this place is amazing. The food, the staff, the ambience is second to none. You would be foolish not to go here
It was the perfect setting for a very difficult business meeting. The space seems intimate enough for private conversations and lively enough to get people going. The food is very good and not overly complicated which allowed it to be part of the conversation but not distract from the topics at hand.
I've been here both for pleasure and for business and have been more than satisfied every time.
while the food was delicious, the just wasn't enough to enjoy. the pork belly appetizer had one piece of pork belly, and the ahi tuna I had was the size of a small appetizer. Probably wont go back again as we have so many other choices in Vegas that give you what you pay for. don't like when you spend $180 for two people and leave hungry.
Nice quiet dining experience just off main strip. There was an event taking place in the main dining room, so we were seated in a small side dining room that was very comfortable and quiet. Our server was very knowledgeable and helped each of us select an entree that we both enjoyed. I had the special(baby goat stew) which was probably missed by most diners as it is not something that you typically see on a fine dining menu; it was delicious, and went well with my side order of mashed potatoes. We had the lobster bisque for an appetizer and it was well served, and scooped up quickly by both of us. My wife had the filet and roasted brussel sprouts. Again the filet was tender, juicy, and very tasty, as were the sprouts.Overall enjoyable.
Beautiful ambiance, great service, apps and dinner were wonderful, but wasn't crazy about the dessert selection.
Service was great; Lobster Mac & Cheese was great - everything else was mediocre. Fois Graw was terrible! (Sorry about the spelling)... $225 for 3 drinks, 2 appetizers and 2 entres. Throw $60 for cab rides adds up to stay at your hotel for a nice dinner...
Had been there before. The food was great and the service was excellent. Now the service is still still great but the quality of the food was not the same.
We chose this restaurant because of the intimate setting of only 50 seats. Outdoor seating area would have been nice but because of the street noise we opted to dine inside.. Service was great as well as our entrees. We would definitely return.
Our server was a very knowledgable employee. She knew all about the food, wine, and cocktails. The only reason I say the food was okay is there was not many choices and it was very pricey.
Best atmosphere and service in Las Vegas. Intimate setting off the beaten path. A welcome escape from casino dining.
As usual the two year old Barrymore's sets the standard for Las Vegas dining. The menu consists of primarily of steaks which are exquisite, and sides a la carte. There are other choices including duck which was a delicious entree and perfectly seasoned. Do not expect an overly seasoned palet shocker at Barrymore's as the food is the showcase not a spice bag. Price point was perfect with two appetizers, scallops and octopus, foi gras, sides of baked potato, beans and brussel sprouts, entrees were short ribs and the half duck. 190.00 including two cocktails. The best adult fine dining in Las Vegas.
Took two out of town friends for dinner on Saturday night (10/19/13). Our guests were suitably impressed. Enjoyed the 'old' Vegas atmosphere. The service was excellent. In fact we were allowed to sit an converse at our table long after dinner was complete. Once again the food was excellent. Our dinners included 3 persons ordering various steak dinners and the fourth having the bass dinner. We all commented how good the food was and how perfect the serving sizes were. All of us were pleased and I know we two locals will be back. In fact I told our guests to leave crumpled messy napkins so they will return as well.
This is like a hidden gem in Las Vegas avoid those big casino dining. This place has great value, great food, and excellent service.
Food was excellent! Service was even better. Had a group of six. 28oz bone in ribeyes, black bass, scallops, apps and wine. Recommend this place to anyone.
Has a jazz age ambience complete with a house specialty Sazerac. Food was delicious, predictably Vegas expensive but you get quality and quantity for your money.
We went blind based off a recommendation from a friend and I have to say we were impressed. The ambiance is a blend of swanky old Vegas & Hollywood. The servers were very knowledgeable and attentive and the food was very good. Not quite 5 star but a comfortable 4 star meal. The lobster mac & cheese is a must have as well as the rib-eye and prime rib. We tried all three steak sauces and definitely chose the bearnaise over the other two. We expected a little more from the lobster cream corn based off of the recommendations, but it was okay. The wine list is vast and impressive and the waiter definitely knew what paired well. Fantastic experience that we would definitely go back for.
We were reccomended by my sister. And it was a GREAT GIFT.
Will be back to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. This was our first dinner
as a married couple as we were married that same day.
They treated us like royality!
The Barrymore is in an old hotel (no casino) Royal Resort. $15 cab ride from the strip. Great steaks, old school Sinatra feel inside. Loved it.
In addition to excellent service, our server Isreal was extremely attentive, made suggestions from cocktails, to appetizers to our main course that were spot on. Food was superb. The octopus was fresh and prepared just right, the artichoke appetizer was delightful, I had the duck......wow. Will be back again very soon
Once again the Barrymore delivered for top of the class in the chosen category this week - when there are old friends visiting from out of town, it is simply a superb atmosphere in which to catch up on stories, retell old lies, and enjoy the kind of ambience that is harder and harder to find these days. The food and service continue to match the setting, a reminder of how things were once done.
For half the price and twice the service for one of your nights in Vegas this is worth going to.
Old school new place.
We chose the Barrymore for our anniversary dinner. We had heard good things and we were not dissapointed. The service and food were the best we have experienced and we have eaten in most upscale places. Will return.
We sought out The Barrymore after reading reviews on Open Table. The food and atmosphere were perfect after spending a day in restaurants on the crowded Strip. The food was fantastic and the service was great. The restaurant was busy but not too crowded and my wife and I were able to converse without having to shout. I would recommend The Barrymore for anyone looking for a quiet dinner with a little vintage Vegas flair.
Our dinner at The Barrymore left me disappointed. It started with the hostess who gave our table away when we arrived, thinking that we were with another party. She just didn't pay attention. To quickly seat us, she sat us in the overflow dining room. Our waitress for dinner was the same waitress working the cocktail lounge. Very nice and personable, but not the polish and seasoning I was expecting. Food was well executed and tasty, but for the price, I expected more. The restaurant is a decent value since it's off the strip, but it's not cheap. Food was good, but nothing exceptional. Personally, I would have preferrred to pay the extra $20-$30 per person to get better quality and better service. You get what you pay for here.
Decided on this restaurant for our one fancy meal while in Vegas. The ambiance is the best part of the restaurant.
While the food was good, it wasnt fantastic. The service was mediocre and not very attentive. The bar menu was WAY overpriced. We spent hundreds of dollars in the end, but didnt feel like it was money well spent.
Great place just off the strip and away from the big hotel places. Great food, bar, staff and ambiance.
Seated almost an hour after 8 o'clock reservation due to private party running late. Manager accommodated with champagne. Macaroni and cheese was everything everyone said it would be. Opakapaka was dry and disappontmenting. Halibut and accompaniments were definitely the stars.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at the Barrymore. The only negative was the corkage fee of $35.00. The food was great, the service was just right and the ambiance was lovely. We sat outside and had a lovely time.
We heard about this through Trip Advisor. We were more than satisfied and will definitely go there again.
We had my daughter's wedding dinner at the Barrymore and it was outstanding! From the moment we walked in we knew that this was going to be a special place...everything was top notch: the lounge singer was awesome, we loved the old Vegas look and feel, the service was stellar...and of course, the food was incredible! Everyone loved it!
