The Barrymore - Inside Royal Resort Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
Located within the Royal Resort, The Barrymore is a smaller venue that provided generally stellar food and service. Frankly, I was a little worried when we arrived since the hotel is nothing to look at and our parking spot was dark and to the side in a not well marked spot that looked unsafe. Nonetheless we ventured in and had a drink in the bar, where we found the service to be cheery and spotless and their signature drink, the Barrymore, delicious, according to the member of our group who ordered it. My martini was perfectly mixed. The dining room is cozy and retro. The manager greeted us and the servIce was again stellar. My flat iron steak was superb and surprisingly thick and the sides of mushrooms, asparagus and fries delicious. Not all was perfect. The Caesar salad was only average. The order of short ribs tasted a bit old (older roast?). And the glass of wine that was recommended turned out to be a bit pricey, $25, although it was indeed good. But perhaps Vegas is used to pricey by the glass wines.
In conclusion I could recommend The Barrymore to friends, provided they had a heads up as to th location.
This continues to be one of the really underrated under known best restaurants in Las Vegas. Take the trip (just a 1/2 mile off the strip on convention center drive . One of the top servers, if not the top is Luis in Las Vegas and his new assistant Santa made the evening extra enjoyable. The recently promoted to GM Brian is very proactive and always makes sure everyone at every table is attended to. They also have a new sommelier Hiedi who replaced Brian upon his promotion and is very knowledgeable.
If you are a visitor to Las Vegas be sure to take advantage of the very unique experience located
in an old landmark hotel. (Don't be put off that its not a new glass and steel casino. The decor is old Vegas and it quite the experience.
The meat was thick and tender. Cooked to perfection. A hidden gem. I would never have known about this place before I reading a raving review. A fantastic wine selection, comfortable velvet seats. Interesting ceiling. Plan on spending $50 to $80 per person. Go, you'll be glad you did.
Came for mine and my wife's 2 year anniversary. It was not busy at all. Service was spotty. Our server came back less and less as the night went on. I ordered med rare 18 oz bone in ribeye. One side had nice char and the other was rushed. I got more of a rare steak. Sides came out cool or undercooked. We could hear the kitchen the whole time. They were incredibly loud with the typical kitchen banter. For the price of my steak, I will go to Costco, buy prime ribeyes, and cook them myself. Was very disappointed.
Dinner was disappointing - we were excited to bring our family - to someplace we had enjoyed before - it's complicated when 6 people are ordering - we understand that but when asked for bread - the waiter said - not until he removed the menus - so I had take away mine - still no bread
when asked about the accompaniments for the short ribs - we were told the potatos were only a garnish and wer upsold the twice baked potato - overall - we did not feel there was good service - I asked for the history of the restaurant and had to fill in info on the eagles for my family - since that was left out of the sommelier's rendition -
overall food was good, service was attentive but snarky - a real disappointment - especially when we spent over $600 - - we'd like to feel comfortable, and appreciated - not the case -
Christmas Day dinner at the Barrymore was its usual pleasant experience. The food was its usual quality of choices and delights. Considering there was only one server in the room, service was efficient. The value of dinner was excellent considering this is a hotel restaurant. We were all pleased that the Barrymore was available to us for Christmas dinner.
This was the second time at the Barrymore. Our first experience was outstanding from the food to the service everything was great! This time we were dining with the family for our annual Christmas Eve dinner. Right from the start I knew there would be issues since the reservation was set for 9 and the table they sat us at was set for 8. We waited about 3 minutes for another place setting to be brought. This was after asking a second time. The service for drinks was very slow she brought out one at a time instead of getting the whole tables order. The overall service was very slow from asking several times to place our order and being told she would return after dropping something off she never did. We had to ask the manager for assistance. Once our food was brought it was cold and most steaks were overcooked. We were just so hungry and tired of waiting we ate our food. We would have ordered dessert but the whole table was just tired from waiting. It was very hard to carry on a conversation because it was very loud. Perhaps it was because gratuity was include that the service was just horrible but we would not consider the Barrymore again for dining.
Amazing find just off the strip, just north of the Encore resort. It was an easy walk (about eight minutes) from the Wynn/Palazzo pedestrian bridge.
Had the bone marrow, KC Striploin, and twice-baked potato; all were incredible.
Ask for Shawn! He will make you feel like you're dining alone.
It was everything we were looking for in a fine dining experience. Our waitress was wonderful and helped us make a decision on sharing a large bone in steak since we really wanted several sides. It was perfect and more than enough for both of us. The ambiance was great!
The food was excellent although way overpriced for what you get. Ambiance great. The bus/water service was quick, so no problem there. However, the waiter and wine service left a LOT to be desired. The waiter seemed bored and disinterested in giving good service. We hardly saw him except for the initial greeting, if you could call it a greeting. Not personable whatsoever. Then, the wine server barely filled the wine glasses on the first round but on our 2nd round the server ran out of wine (filling last glass 1/4 in.). It was so obvious we thought surely he'd be back. No return. When we brought it to our waiter's attention, he shrugged it off and said nothing. I've never experienced this before. Never had a problem with how much wine a server poured in a glass at any restaurant. Needless to say, my husband left 10% tip instead of 20-25%. Its really too bad because the food, ambiance, and some of the table service was great.
Barrymore's is one of my favorite places to go to....always a treat! I've gone for full dining experience & casual "eat at the bar/watch a game" dinner & it's wonderful no matter where I choose to dine.
This is the first time I've gone for Thanksgiving dinner & as always, the experience, fabulous!!! Dinner was absolutely delicious, Amber our Server, was very attentive, sweet, funny & a true professional. Management was wonderful at well.
We were sitting in the Main Dining area & every table was enjoying the same experience we were....very comfortable, warm & a lot of good cheer from everyone.
A true gem for Las Vegas!!!
We celebrated Thanksgiving at The Barrymore this year as a change as we loved it. We found it to be classy, refined , and had old Las Vegas charm. The wonderful people who work there were very friendly, made sure we were not rushed, and were very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine pairings. The food was excellent and served with timed precision. Highly recommended.
We have eaten at the Barrymore on several occasions. It is tucked away in the Resorts Hotel and is a small secluded venue that is a throwback to yesteryear. The food and service are outstanding. You might pay a little more, but the prices are very reasonable for the quality. Our last visit I had the Kansas City Strip steak on the bone which was to die for. Great service, food and drink in an enjoyable and relaxing environment. We will look forward to eating there again.
I’ve been here twice now on trips to Las Vegas and the Barrymore never disappoints. Atmosphere is great, lots of classic vintage Vegas style, food is superb, service impeccable, and the wine selection is very good. I would highly recommend this restaurant to those wanting to escape the madness of the Strip for an evening.
The only restaurant where I entertain clients when in Vegas. Off the Strip. Easy access from LVCC. Don't have to walk miles to get to resultaurant. Outdoor patio is fantastic- as are the cocktails. GREAT staff. Ambiance is Vegas Old School. Fantastic food. Love managers Kirk and Brian- they know the meaning of hospitality!
We dined at The Barrymore for my birthday, first let me say the aesthetics is what drew me in, the decor is impeccable, I love the design and the decor, the food was great and the staff was amazing and accommodating. Make sure you try the mushrooms they were phenomenal.
Last Friday must have been an off night. The restaurant and bar are super cool and have a great vibe...that's where our experience ended however. For the prices they are commanding, our expectations were much higher. While the Foie Gras appetizer was good as were the Brussels Sprouts. Our bone-in rib-eye was tasteless and well undercooked and the service was on the low side of average.
There are simply too many other great restaurants in Las Vegas to get a great steak dinner for us to every go back.
We went to celebrate our anniversary. We couldn't have picked a better place. It was romantic, with beautiful live music, the food was delicious, our waiter was excellent very helpful and so nice. We will definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends and family.
This small, elegant restaurant is a bit off the beaten track, but don’t let that deter you. Take the SDX bus to Channel 8 Drive and you are there! It is a quiet venue and you can actually talk with your dining companions. Service is excellent, prompt, attentive, professional. Food is perfectly prepared and presented. A bread basket included several different offerings, with the lavish and pretzel roll standing out. The octopus ceviche was nicely charred and presented on a seasonal pastiche of fruits and vegetables. Steaks and pork chops were prepared to our specifications. This was not our first visit, and each time has been consistently of the best quality. Kirk, the GM, was actively involved to insure that our dining experience was first rate. The menu is managed and most offerings are traditional, but everything we have eaten here has been beautifully done. This is a reliable favorite.
The Barrymore is a beautifully crafted fine dining establishment, with an Art Deco vibe. The nostalgia of old Hollywood permeates throughout the place and makes you feel whisked back to an earlier time. We were sitting in a gorgeous booth near the back and loved the comfortable plush cushions. The service was impeccable - Luis made us want for nothing. And the food! The Lobster Mac and Cheese was to die for as was the Beef Wagyu Steak served with a truffle coated twice baked potato. My friends agreed that the steak was one of the best cuts they ever had. Despite being a bit north of the strip, it was an easy enough find with an Uber. The pricing was also a lot more affordable than other upscale choices on the strip as well. It was a great experience!
