The Barking Dog
Amazing experience with such excellent food and helpful staff.
Will be visiting again on my next trip to Belfast :)
Home made pasta was delicious! The wine was divine!
The pudding was fabulous!
The staff were charming!
Can’t recommend this place enough!
Sunday evening visit. Amazing dinner, delightful ambiance and service exquisite! Been many times before but can’t wait to return!
Everything went well and the service and food were excellent. Background music was intrusive and made carrying out a conversation difficult
The meal was a last minute surprise dinner for myself and we were able to get a table no problem
The food was excellent and the staff were very helpful with an allergy my girlfriend has
Will definitely be back
Superb as always. Food is unreal and incredible value for money. Service was prompt and friendly. Will be back again very soon!
Food and service top class as always. Manager on Sunday night was very friendly and accommodating. Keep it up
Delicious food and very good wine, which is not always the case in Northern Ireland.
Nice selection of food. Price good. I would recommend.
Great place, had it's own character. Food, particularly desert and service were tasty and prompt, respectively. However selection of draught beers poor, the "special" brew over priced, (may be because the alternative was bottled or cans), not what I would expect from a restaurant. Anyway general "thumbs up".
Food was absolutely delicious and cocktails were amazing. What a great place for a date night!
Lovely restaurant. Excellent good. Tapas plate for sharing starter delicious! Staff very friendly and helpful.
The whole experience was fantastic. The service was quick and friendly, the food was amazing. The price was possibly on the high side but due to the service and quality of the food this would not put me off coming back. This was an anniversary meal that both my wife and I will not forget, and we will definitely return!
EXCELLENT service, food was great and they had a wide range of unique cocktails. The staff were very helpful and attentive and go out of their way to make sure you’re well looked after.
Delicious food and delightful service.
Excellent meal with excellent and friendly service
Booked it last minute. The tapas is fantastic, we had the sweet potato gnocchi which was amazing. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Belfast.
Very good food and nice atmosphere. I had the sweet potato gnocchi and it was wonderful!
Excellent Sunday roast and excellent service.
Love 💕 the barking dog
Really lovely food - we ordered the selection of tapas - arrived very promptly.
The Irish lager came in a frosty class.
Was well attended by staff.
Table behind us was a bit noisy but we had a lovely table in the window. Toilets clean and stocked with femine hygiene bits - for those emergencies !
Would definitely go back !
Best meal we’ve had in Belfast in a long while - love the atmosphere here and the food and service were above and beyond! Will definitely be back!
Excellent stopover for a hearty lunch in Belfast. The pie of the day was impeccably cooked. Good service in a quiet setting.
I love this restaurant and they have a good vegetarian menu. I was a bit disappointed this time though because they had changed what was a delicious aubergine parmigiana into a ratatouille topped with cheese.
Otherwise it was lovely though.
Nice place. Friendly & funny staff. Good food and setting. Will be back.
Lovely food and evening had here, went back second night for more
Service as always was v good and the food also very relaxed surroundings.
A definite stop for a fun delicious meal in Belfast- Thanks Lonely Planet for the recommendation!!
We had a lovely meal and they were very good at accommodating my specific dietary needs, however I was not impressed that when spending £70 on a meal, I was charged £0.40 for mayonnaise. In a restaurant of this standard I would expect that to be included and very petty to charge for, especially given the meal I ordered, had many of the items missing to accommodate my diet but yet I was still charged the same price.
That being said the food was delicious and the waitress very attentive and friendly, but the extra charge put a sour taste in our mouths.
Food was very good. We had skirt steak and hake. Unfortunately the service was poor. It appeared they were understaffed.
Barking Dog is an attractive restaurant with a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Service is prompt and attentive. Crab tapas not the freshest (maybe out of a tin?). Steak tartare very good. Sirloin steak average and not worth the money. Cheese board very good. Peanut brownie amazing. Overall not a bad meal but poor value for money.
If you are in Belfast looking for a romantic evening or just a restaurant that will impress your visiting friends and family, The Barking Dog is a go to. There is a lovely ambience with the exposed brick, mismatched chairs and tables and candles on each table. The service is never anything less than attentive and the food. Let’s talk about the food. You will be hard pressed to find a better meal in Belfast. Portions are ample without being obnoxiously large and they will leave you feeling sufficiently full without needing to be rolled out of the restaurant. The tapas as well are delicate and delicious- the servers will be able to advise how many to get if you aim to make them your main meal. Can’t recommend The Barking Dog enough.
Perfect from start to finish! Great food and service!
Staff weren't friendly. Food over priced .
Will not be back
This was our first visit to the barking dog and it definitely won’t be our last , the food is exceptional and very well priced the service was also a stand out with very friendly and professional staff
My husband thought the beer was very expensive and one of my tapas meals was mixed up but apart from that it was all very tasty and very good service, we will be back!
Great restaurant, great staff and great flavours especially the tapas selection
We had a lovely Sunday dinner in the Barking Dog and would definitely go back for the same and to try at another time of the week. Would highly recommend this place.
Great dinner at our favourite restaurant in Belfast. The tapas and the shin burger were brilliant as always have been and the service was impeccable. 100% recommendable.
Steak Tartare and Halloumi for starters were very nice but unfortunately the Black Angus Sirloin was very average and certainly not worth the £32 each. Both myself and my girlfriend ordered medium rare and both steaks arrived medium to well done. When the waitress finally asked us towards the end of our meal if everything was ok, I told her the steaks, although tasted great weren't cooked the way we ordered, she simply apologised and left. Very average service. We didnt order dessert but instead ordered a coffee and a hot chocolate. I thought perhaps these will be on the house after I complained about our steaks but they were not. 2 starters, 2 steaks, 1 glass of wine, 1 vodka and coke. A coffee and a hot chocolate. Bill was £98. The venue is lovely but the food and service very average. We will not go back again based on our first experience.
