Amazing burger and I love the decor!
The food is good. The place is VERY loud. The prices are too high for the quality and ambiance.
Very accommodating of food allergies. Anyone with them will understand why this is so great!
Packed on a frigid Friday night. Honored our reservation--seated promptly. Very good cocktails.
Salmon add-on in chopped salad was cooked perfectly. Pork buns (appetizer) were fabulous!
Was sat by the bar which was cool, I like the vibe of this place in the bar. However, once I placed my drink order it took more than 15 minutes to get it. Then I ordered their famous burger and was excited, especially at the higher price point. One would think a burger that is so highly touted would not be frozen. I ordered medium and it came out in no joke 7 minutes. Not only was this a bad sign but it was so greasy that their was a grease pool on the plate. Honestly, the burger tasted like a deli burger that would have been $5. Honestly, a Big Mac had more flavor. There is a place we go to for business meetings downtown where we all get a $30 burger and don’t mind because it’s worth every penny. This burger however, was worth just penny’s. Skip and avoid.
Went for my sons 21st birthday. He picked it our for a quick internet search. The food was very good, the service was outstanding, and despite being crowded and loud it did not feel overwhelming. Overall, a good fit for a 21st birthday dinner.....Thank you.
Our server, Andy, was on point! Nice ambiance. Brussels were amazing but a bit too saucy, chicken was slightly undercooked.
Fun, lively and great happy hour!!! Whether with your girls or on a date - will have good time !
We all had an enjoyable meal. The buffalo cauliflower was totally amazing!!
Amazing ambiance, Valentine’s Day dinner was very nice. We enjoyed the cocktails as well as the food. The staff was very attantive and friendly. Xoxo
Great place with very solid small menu and reasonable prices. The burger is better than many on the "top burger" lists that float around. Great place for a date.
Food was standard to good brunch fare (we ordered chicken and waffles, a breakfast burrito, and eggs Benedict) - the interior is lovely and it was relatively empty for a Sunday brunch, which was to our liking as it made it seem more private. It might be a more lively spot for late night drinks - the bar looked pretty nice.
Great spot in the UES! We were at an event at the Metropolitan Club - and came to The Bar Room for a girls dinner afterwards. It would be a great spot for groups or a casual date night
Insane place - we could not even stayduento decibel level. But the waiter was one of the most accommodating, genuinely nice and helpful people I have encountered in a restaurant lately. Went above and beyond to help us find an alternative. He is the only thing that would make me even think of returning.
Lunch was ok.
Nice place for lunch and drinks. Old style bar with unique dining area. Nice.
Excellent service and atmosphere, however a little pricey. The buns for the pork buns were frozen but they were comped from the bill so good service recovery.
Food was great, service was pretty good, and my girlfriend and I were sat in a good spot by the staff.
The food was so bad I would never recommend this place. I had a side salad that was so bad I didn't eat it. It's very hard to produce a salad that is inedible. The greens were awful and the dressing was awful. I also had their cheese burger. The burgers at McDonald's are better. At $21 for awful food it is a horror show. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT.
Solid choice for the neighborhood, adjacent to bloomingdales
The food was delicious. The service very attentive. Good value for the money!
Awful service. Slow and unapologetic. Waited over 25 minutes for a carafe of mimosa. We were half way through our entrees when the mimosa arrived. When it finally arrived it was so bitter we had to just send it back and order white wine instead. Eggs benefit was below average and the side of bacon was burnt and old. Awful. However, the space was very cool and has a very old fashioned NYC look. Maybe just stop by to take a look but nothing more.
Our best experience in NY
Acá pasamos la noche de año nuevo y el ambiente nos gustó mucho. Es un lugar acogedor, con buen servicio, buena música y mucha onda.
Quaint restaurant and bar, good atmosphere and staff are friendly.
Local go to spot. Bar is busy and can get noisy during certain dining hours. Food has evolved over the past few years. Hamburger is one of the best around. Warm Kale salad may be the best kept local secret. This is the only kale salad I have had that you don’t chew for 10 minutes before you can swallow it. Anyone thinking about going to the Bar Room should give it a try.
We tried the Bar Room because it was near the movie theater and we wanted a casual pre-movie dinner that went above and beyond standard pub fare. The Bar Room did not disappoint. Great and friendly atmosphere with attentive service, even though the place was packed. The menu was varied and interesting.
My only complaint was that my salmon was way under-cooked (I wasn't looking for a sushi experience that evening and the salmon came out pretty much raw except the very outer part).
Nice place, nice crowd - good food, good service, lots of fun.
Highly recommended. The food was great. The drinks were good. Would definitely return
Found this place on Yelp and met some friends for brunch on a Sunday. Service was great; took our coats upon arrival and also held our backpacks for us (heading to the airport right after). 2 of us ordered eggs Benedict (nova and Florentine) and one ordered the chicken and waffle sandwich. Both eggs Benedict were good, but the chicken and waffle sandwich was quite bland. There was a hint of flavor from the onion and sauce, but otherwise, pretty lackluster.
Great little place. Was super close to where we were staying so that made the choice easier. Very comfortable and the food was great!
Food was great! Beautiful space. Waitress was sweet. Will def go back.
Good food. Super loud with a fun decor. Quick service.
Love your restaurant! While I had been before none of my friends had! They all loved it especially the food. I had the warm kale salad with salmon which was delicious—not too much dressing and salmon cooked to perfection! I will be back soon! Our server Hannah was excellent responding quickly to our every requesy.
I was very disappointed with The Bar. Considering its name the entire cocktail experience was horrible. We ordered Side Cars with a sugar rim. I asked whether the bartender was familiar and was told yes. Well obviously not, there was a salt rim on the glass and I think they used scotch instead of cognac. I never tasted one that was that bad. So I thought I would order something from their cocktail menu. I went with a drink called a Whippet 's Tipple [absolut elyx, aperol, grapefruit, lemon, sparkling]. I asked to have it served up instead of on ice. Well that also had a salt rim [who does that].
Food was passable....hamburger was good, turkey club was very dry. Kale salad was good as well.
Waitress service was fine but the bartenders making the drinks were terribly slow. I waited more than 15 minutes for a cocktail. Should be unheard of in a place called "The Bar Room."
extremely noisy with mediocre food and inattentive--tho friendly--wait service.
Nice setting, relaxed atmosphere, good cocktails and good, casual food. Waiter was awesome
As always, the food was excellent, the service lovely, the location soo convenient, this is a gem to know about when wandering in the morass of 57th st area.
We had a glass of wine and left before ordering any food. Menu on Open Table was inaccurate to the actual offerings. Restaurant was out of several things at 6 pm and it just felt like it was going to be a mediocre experience so we left.
