Still one of my favorite restaurants in Minneapolis. Charming, warm, delicious—on every level.
Noisy to the point conversation was sometimes difficult. Exceptional service in a sharp, sophisticated atmosphere. Food was hit and miss. One entree was excellent, one was fair, however the lamb was tough and not very good. Cocktails were inventive and well made.
Would probably return for drinks but will look elsewhere for a meal.
Service was impeccable! The atmosphere was first class but not snobbish- very down to earth. When our 5 meals arrived there was absolutely no hesitation on which went to whom. My son was in the restroom and they offered to keep his meal warm. I said no, he’ll be right back. It’s obvious the employees are very well trained, authentic & have common sense.
Superb as always!
Great menu & able to accommodate one of our group with some great gluten-free options. Excellent halibut... wow!
This was my first time at the restaurant. I was thrilled with the experience. The evening was a wonderful experience.
Service was excellent; out waitress was helpful, friendly and very much tried to please. We were all very satisfied!
Warm, genuine hospitality. Exceptional food. If only I lived in the cities, I would dine here often. :)
My wife and I had our first dining experience and everything was absolutely perfect. The service was appropriately attentive and the food was perfect. Shaved ham toast was awesome. Walleye was maybe the best I've ever had. And, had one of the best tequila gimlets of my life. So good.
I was intrigued by their reputation for serving excellent, carefully-prepared dishes made with quality ingredients. I was not disappointed. The best thing might have been the micro greens with foie gras. Amazing flavors in all the dishes served. Make sure you start your evening at the Marvel Bar/speakeasy downstairs while you wait for your reservation. Outstanding cocktails in a great intimate atmosphere.
Delightful staff; Drew outstanding behind the bar, and we were served the best meal we've had at a twin cities restaurant in the 25 years we've been living here. Not inexpensive but worth every penny. We'll be back.
Oh man so good soooo good . Get the popover!
The groaning board and cocktails were fantastic, but my duck confit was incredibly salty! I couldn't even finish eating it. The server was kind, but it was a little busy and he didn't ask how the food was.
We did not have great service, waited a while and the server did not give us the great experience I was expecting!
Loved this place! Visiting for a work conference and it was recommended by many-and it did not disappoint! We sat at the bar and got great recommendations from drinks (the bartender made us a special cocktail!!) and both servers were so helpful in choosing our meals! Everyone including other patrons were so friendly!! I am so glad we could enjoy this awesome place during our brief work trip!! Definitely GO HERE!!
This was such an amazing meal. Fresh
Local ingredients prepared in a wonderful
creative way! LOVED it!!
love it, delicious food and perfect ambiance
Fantastic! I have been trying to go every vacation, it was worth the wait.
Fantastic food, atmosphere and service. I hope to return to Minneapolis soon to eat at the Bachelor Farmer again.
Loved everything about our experience at TBF. Can't wait to go back and try more!
Family in town
It was truly an excellent experience for special occasions!
The food was well prepared, especially the roasted beets. The server was fantastic. But the two martini drinkers in our group were very disappointed in the martinis they ordered.
Excellent meal. Batchelor Farmer never disappoints. Always delicious and unique.
The service was fantastic, and Amy was amazing! Loved the food and the speakeasy downstairs.
Shelby was a fantastic server!!!
Very nice experience. Great food, good service.
This is one of my favorite spots in Minneapolis. Great food -- menu changes regularly. Really creative and delicious dishes.
We had a wonderful time. The food and service were outstanding. Our server Charlie was very knowledgeable and helpful with his recommendations. We will be back.
Best dining experience we have had in Minneapolis!
I took my girlfriend here for a date night. Lively ambiance and knowledgeable servers. First time in Minneapolis and this place was recommended by our hotel. The green cabbage salad was our favorite and the goat cheese toast was a big enough portion for 4 people. Everything in our entrees worked very well together and we left very satisfied. It was a very popular place so I would recommend making a reservation.
Food was delish! Service was great with several personal touches thrown in.
Friends in town
Amazing food and service, the best dinning experience I’ve had in Minneapolis. Great for a special occasion or catching up with friends over great food! Highly recommend!!
Overall great experience. We had a server that was very informative, friendly, and attentive. All of the food was plated beautifully with amazing flavors. Above average pricing but well worth the cost.
Fantastic evening celebrating multiple birthdays. Thank you!!
Fantastic experience from start to finish. Great food and wine selections. Love the opportunity to try half bottles and diversify selections through the meal. Attentive and professional service provided by Mike including little gestures that took the experience to the next level. Can't wait to return!
Tried this place for the first time and loved it. Had a Bijou cocktail with beef tartar and toast appetizer and the duck entree. Delicious!!
WOW! is a great word. This was the first opportunity to dine after hearing that their long-time chef had departed. The new chef has stepped into those shoes! From the toasts to dessert, PHENOMENAL! Speaking of dessert, talk about the pièce de le résistance - orange mousse paired with extra-warmed B&B - 5 brandies infused with Benedictine. Le dessert absolu!
After a long wait to attend this restaurant, I came out extremely disappointed. The only thing that was done well at this restaurant was the PR.
From the unfriendly host stand to the server that seemed to want no part of work on a Tuesday night, this was extremely disappointing. After going through the menu, the dishes all seemed to lack flavor. I had heard raved revues about the radishes served and we ended up with what seemed to taste like bagged potato chips and ranch sauce.
I could go on and on about how poor this restaurant was from the lack of seasoning of the food to the lack of any caring in how our experience was, instead I'm just going to continue to spend good money ($200 for 2 people) at better restaurants such as Young Joni and Bardo
