It’s a bit overpriced for what you get.
The service was excellent and the drinks were good. The meal was just average.

This is the third time we’ve been to the Bachelor. Experience pretty similar. Unable to have a pre-dinner cocktail comfortably with friends because bar is focused on serving food to those without reservations. Service was attentive and timing was good. I had the duck breast which was excellent and one companion really enjoyed his meal. The other two meals were just OK.

It took over a half hour to get a drink or food. Once we ordered, it was quick. Our reservation was for 7:15p. I sat on a "crack" on the bench seat, not the nicest. The food was very tasty and different. The duck was a little chewy in my opinion, but the sausage was very tasty, liked the popovers.

Outstanding, fancy comfort food with amazing flavors. Highly recommend for foodies; we loved the diverse menu and portion sizes were perfect. Swedish farmhouse flair, the best duck breast we've ever had and fantastic kale and beet sides. From the melt-in-your mouth homemade potato chips upon seating, to the fresh popovers with honey butter and ginger snaps as a parting gift....we had a superb experience and have already recommended to many! Approachable, upscale menu. An all around excellent restaurant.

Waaaaaay overpriced combined with small portions. The food wasn't anything exceptional either. Wine cost me close to $20/glass.

We went for our 7 year anniversary and they politely said congratulations, but offered nothing beyond that. Most places offer a small desert at least.
The tartar toast was delicious. The beet salad was good as well. The rest of the food was good, but we didn’t care for it overall.
The shock came when we received the bill and saw the $22 cost of a 6 oz. glass of wine!! The waitress failed to tell us the cost of the wine listed on their chaulkboard. The 2 oz. port was $16 a glass as well. Our meal including tip was $180!!!! This was SO disappointing, especially when the staff was Minnesota Ice. We will not be going back. I recommend you don’t go their either. There are so many more friendly places that don’t cost a fortune!

Wonderful experience. Drinks in the bar were great. I had a Boulevardier which was sublime. The bar was pretty crowded, though, so I was glad when we got to our table. I ordered the poached egg and pastrami toast as an appetizer. The pastrami was out of this world. I had the duck entree which was six slices of which half were perfectly tender and the other half a bit fatty. The suggested wine was a Jean Louis Chave "Offerus" - a terrific suggestion. I like that TBF will serve single glasses from almost any bottle and offer the remainder of the bottle on a chalk board. One can score some great wine as a result.

Not bad but definitely not great. Experience does not warrant a repeat visit. Here is breakdown:
Food: Celery root soup, beef tartare toast delicious.
Smoked salmon mixed in with arugula OK. Fresh cow's milk cheese OK but cheese lacked flavor.
Salt cured foie gras was a mushy glob over greens with cranberries. I had a hard time eating this. Delicata squash ragout was vinegary with a half of a squash on top, peeling on squash hard to swallow. Roasted walleye had a small amount of black bean stew underneath.
Desert was chocolate fudge cake but serving of ice-cream that came with it was a couple of bites. It was delicious, just very small serving.
Service was good, received the cocktail ordered after the apps arrived.
Ambiance nice. Was seated with the service area and kitchen to my left, so I heard "corner" all night as wait staff alerted each other coming around the corner. At least it wasn't super noisy.

Delicious. We were presented with some tasty chips and creamy lemon dip, then apple slices with pistachio butter before we ordered. Sunday supper featured kale salad with apples and almonds, chicken with root vegetables and a lovely cake with coconut ice cream. We also enjoyed the tasty popover with honey butter. Creative cocktails, interesting wines - many available by the 1/2 bottle and by the glass - featured on the dining room chalkboard. Loved the touch of presenting the bill in a moleskine notebook for the diner to leave comments-the pages later posted on the hallway walls. Excellent service, memorable evening.

The food and ambiance at The Bachelor Farmer were impeccable. I placed a special order when making a reservation and it was carried out without any issue. The portions were small, but there was enough to have multiple bites of each appetizer that we ordered, so you could experience the entire pallet on the plate. The toasts were a wonderful midpoint to the meal as well. Highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you like fine-dining!

We've loved the BF for years! With the departure of the head chef, we were cautiously optimistic about the food being amazing still. Sadly everything has dropped in quality by a step. Its okay, but not great and definitely not amazing. I hope it turns around, but right now it isn't worth the price that was set by its excellence and standard of years prior.

Very innovative menu with many pleasant surprises!
Everything the 3 of us received was tasty and the wine suggested pairings fit the meal very well.
Some very nice touches, like the "old water" in my meal - something similar to a starter dough for a bakery, it's a starter broth that keeps being added to and used over time - really, really deep flavor. Awesome place, go and have fun with food!

We were a bit perplexed by the menu. It isn’t the usual steak/fish/chicken options, but with some suggestions from our waitress we made our selections ... not entirely sure what we were getting. Everything was delicious. The beef tartare “toast” was particularly wonderful and the warm chocolate cake for dessert was heavenly!

This was my favorite stop on our culinary tour of Minneapolis this October! First, our waitress Caitlyn was amazing. She was attentive, kind, easy to talk to, helpful, and just everything you'd want in a server. We were seated quickly for our Friday evening reservation; the space is lovely, if a bit loud. My husband ordered the soup appetizer which he said was amazing and Caitlyn brought my a salad although I hadn't ordered anything because she didn't want me to feel left out <3. I had the delicata squash entree which was amazing through and through - All of the flavors melded together perfectly. My husband had the roasted chicken entree which he enjoyed immensely - Flavorful and tender with a crisp skin. I wish we had known to get the popover side for all of the delicious sauces (tip for next time!). The apple upside down cake was a great way to end the meal, but they also gave us gingersnap cookies to take home! They were also perfect - spicy, yet soft. I regret not being able to make it to the Cafe for breakfast or lunch, but we will be back for sure on our next trip to Minneapolis!
