At the Auld hundred you'll find a great mix of homemade traditional Scottish food and comforting classics served in our cosy restaurant, best accompanied by our famous whisky range, with over 100 local whiskies or our large range of Scottish favourites with local Cold Town Beer, and Scottish gin, vodka and rums.

We have live music 7 days a week, with local musicians Monday-Saturday and open mic nights on Sundays. The reviews speak for themselves: "Each week the range of quality performers combined with the inviting atmosphere of a well-run open mic draws a largely enthusiastic crowd.     Nice atmosphere, great service! Food was great and a good choice and value for money! Good choice of cocktails! The food area is up some spiral stairs but we managed just fine up and down them. Defo recommend this place, we’ve already booked a table for food when we’re back for a night for the Fringe!

    Table was right beside the bathroom, which wasn't ideal as had an unpleasant smell. My steak pie was tasty and plentiful, however, my husband chicken Balmoral was extremely dry ( I suspect it was microwaved due to how fast it arrived) the whisky sauce to accompany was extremely thick so did nothing to help the dryness and was tasteless, desserts were really nice

    Fun and authentic Scottish dining experience. Our server, Katrina, and the rest of the staff were very pleasant and the food was delicious. The Baileys cheesecake was divine. Thanks for a fun night our first night in Edinburgh!!! The music downstairs was really nice, too.

    Our first visit & we will definitely return! Fab atmosphere downstairs & up in the dining area. A great guitarist/singer was on when we visited, I believe they have music every night. Food was simple & very tasty, quick service by excellent staff . If you want to dine , book , otherwise you won’t get in. Try a pint of Leith Juice, perfect!!
