The Atlantic Grille - The Seagate Hotel & Spa Ratings and Reviews
I have been to this restaurant several times. I was a bit disappointed on this visit. We waited almost half hour for our food to come out and they weren’t terribly busy. My steak was ordered medium and it was beyond well done. The waiter took it back but did not take my husbands meal back. It took over 15 minutes for my steak to come back and my husband was done eating. It was quite awkward. When we got our bill the waiter said one of my drinks was free for the inconvenience. The steak was excellent when it came back, but I feel it should have been handled better for this caliber of restaurant. It is fine dining and for the price I expected better service.
At Atlantic Grille, at the Seagate Hotel in Delray Beach,....they simply just do it right. From the bar / lounge areas to their actual restaurant. Our server, a fella name Matt was terrific in offering ideas versus being pushy.
Our appetizers were perfect shrimp and crab meat cocktail and with excellent sauces. None better on Atlantic Avenue. Our salad and entree were equally as terrific. The scene / ambiance is excellent.
The service was good but I have to add that our server spoke in a hurry, it made us feel we were in I-95 during rush hour and he was on the back reciting everything. He forgot to mentioned the daily specials. The tuna appetizer was very basic, lettuce, raw tuna and some wasabi, the server offered the soy when we were half way done. When I ordered my dish (soba noodles with shrimp) the server td me it was like "a stir fry". I thought to myself it cannot be so simple as I cook this at home in 15 minutes. By the time my dish arrived I was starving. It looked exactly the way I do it at home. I go to Publix buy mix veggies, shrimp and cook it. I ate only 2/3 of my dish because it was swimming in something similar to soy sauce. Please tell the cook the soy is not a sauce and that sauces contain butter, or heavy cream or cornstarch. It cost me $30.00 !!! My wife's dish was a fish, with rice that someone add coconut to it (I guess that makes it gourmet) and a mix of pineapple and tiny shrimp on the side. A dish basically includes 3 elements (protein, starch and a veg.) This pineapple mix is not a veggie and it should go on top of the fish and add some broccoli to it. The server asked hw was everything but as I looked at my dish and was about to explain he decided to not let me say a thing and the proceed it to offer dessert. Disappointed, such a pretty place.
Unfortunately we were disappointed with our experience and meal at The Atlantic Grill. Our entrees took over 45 minutes to come out and when they did my Wife's salmon was dry and overcooked and my steak was undercooked and average in quality for a $44 steak. The waitress was nice and apologetic and our bill was adjusted 30% percent. Maybe it was an off night but wanted to share the experience.
I have been there twice in the past month and both times have been outstanding! From the cocktails to calamari. From the snapper to espresso New York strip that was cooked perfectly. They even took the time to write Happy Anniversary on our dessert plate. Service was superb as well. Well done. Looking forward to checking out blues night.
Went on July 4th because I could have dinner and park before I walked to the beach for fireworks. Was disappointed the last time I came, but decided to give it another try because of the location. Was pleasantly surprised by the food. My snapper for terrific and my wife was very pleased with her clams appetizer. Only less than excellent review came from my son, who wasn't happy with his filet mignon (but was unwilling to have it returned so it couldn't have been that bad). Place is still too noisy for people to be able to talk during dinner without shouting.
We ordered the seared tuna as appetizer, the quality of the fish was good but it lacked flavor.
As entrees we had the salmon with quinoa and the butterflied sole with coconut rice. The butterflied sole was very bland, but the fish was fresh. The rise was undercooked, crunchy and flavorless. The quality of the food does not justify the price.
Service was just okay.
Our service was terrible. Everyone who sat down after us were served first. The waiter forgot about our drink order and we had to have another waiter get him back to our table. The order was not prepared as requested. The manager was called and spoke to us and left our table abruptly Not a good experience
We came for dinner last night as well as lunch today. Both meals were fantastic. Told dinner menu just redone for the summer and it was fantastic. Can definitely tell ingredients are fresh and items are not to heavy which is nice for this time of year. The clam appetizer as well as the scallops and swordfish were all delicious and prepared very well for dinner last night. Our pancakes and egg benedict trio for brunch today were a delite as well. Will definitely return.
Our waiter was super attentive and helpful. Watching the Sharks swim was relaxing even though it was pretty noisy. The bread basket was delightful. It contained a little bit of everything from a cheddar flatbread, raisin toast, pumpernickel and white rolls. The entree presented beautifully but the crab cakes had no flavor, the beautiful jumbo shrimp were not quite cooked, (looked pink, but mushy inside) My husband's chicken was so bland he kept picking up the salt and pepper shaker. It was not our best experience.
Great place Regular return customers. BUT this time ( Mothers Day ) a group of 8 + was waiting to be seated INSIDE near food tables and bar customers and one lady had her dog held up close on her chest and waiting to be seated with the dog at their table. Here in Florida most outside animal seatings are ok and acceptable. This restaurant manager should have taken control
and be spoken to as body language on other customers faces was not positive. DUH ?? Not sure what Fla law says about inside seating in upscale restaurants . Any way had great mothers day !!
Probably will not return there after 6 years.
Food was solid but servers require to be trained. Watched 2 tables get up and leave. Very nice but are really green. Took very long to order, get drinks, didn't check on table after serving, etc. Good attitudes but looks like management needs to rethink their training. I would go back but speak to a manager about this experience so it doesn't happen again.
First, my poor rating of service is no reflection on the server Austin. That rating is exclusivly for the kitchen and manager. Reservation was for 9:30 brunch. Stood at the hostess stand for 10 minutes while the staff was busy setting up the dining room and ignored us. Why would they not have prepared the dining room for Easter brunch the night before?
We ordered our entrees and they arrived promptly. We asked for the toast/bread that was to be served with the entree and we were told it was still in the oven. Really.. they opened at 9:00 for brunch. 30 minutes later the toast arrives just as we finished our entrees. The manager was running around chaotic throughout the dining room and patio area setting up tables outside which should have been done the night before a busy Sunday holiday brunch.
