A Georgian gem in the heart of Norwich, The Assembly House is where chandeliers meet cheese scones and old-fashioned hospitality is served with a modern flourish. Think jaw-dropping interiors, irresistible menus and the perfect setting for any celebration, big or small. We’re open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and indulgent treats. Start your day with our exclusive Beforenoon Tea, a breakfast twist on a classic. Join us for lunch featuring House favourites and generous grazing boards. Most famously, we’re home to themed Afternoon Teas that change regularly – whimsical, wonderful, and served daily from 12pm to 3.30pm. We also offer savoury versions like Afternoon Sea and Afternoon Cheese, each as joyful as the sweet selection. The location and surrounding are nice, Cream tea - sandwiches the bread was stale, overall except for the scones I felt for this price the food was unfresh.

The Assembly House Afternoon Teas and Breakfast are second to none in Norwich. The food is beautifully presented and the staff discreet, attentive and polite. It is a beautiful venue in the heart of the City, easily accessible and plenty of parking very close.

Little bit disappointed with the service. Had our food brought out before tea. Had to wait ages to get the attention of waiter when we required something. Seemed eager to serve others.

Only criticism is that you get a pot of tea and you can’t get two cups out of it. Hot water is virtually free, needs to service more. Apart from that food is great and the people lovely.

We all enjoyed the food and experience, my husband who was celebrating his 90th Birthday thoroughly enjoyed it. My only negative comment would be the noise level. I realise this is all caused by parties having fun and that included our party as well. The cause I feel is due to current decor choices as there is nothing in the room to absorb any noise, drapes, carpets etc. Of course this is the same in most eateries these days so I am not singling you out at all. My final comment would be that this would not put me off coming again. Thank you Gloria Rowe

Very busy main room, no air con giving any effect in the heat which was uncomfortable (both sweating throughout which isn't nice), tables crammed very close together so constant noise from tables next to yours and the table was so small that everything did not fit comfortably without constant reshuffling feeling chaotic. Afternoon tea a mixed bag, sandwiches and savoury exceptional but the sweet layer definitely lacking in flavour and delicate flavours overpowered in our opinion with too much icing and just tasting sweet.
