    It's the multi-award winning service we're famous for: four gorgeous tiers served under glittering chandeliers between 12pm & 3.30pm! Afternoon Tea at The Assembly House is £32.00 for one (£18.95 for under-12s) plus a 10% discretionary service charge. ALL afternoon teas served are themed, other than for pre-booked private events. Your booking will be for one of several of our dining rooms, including the main restaurant. We look forward to you being our guests! Please tell us in the booking notes or email admin@assemblyhousenorwich.co.uk at least 24 hours ahead: * If you have dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, DF, GF) * If you require a high chair/are a wheelchair user * If you would like to enjoy Afternoon CHEESE or Afternoon SEA

    The Assembly House is the home of Beforenoon Tea, the breakfast edit of our award-winning afternoon tea served EVERY DAY in our restaurant between 8am to 11am. Beforenoon Tea makes any day a celebration! The menu includes a slightly smaller version of one of our hot freshly-cooked breakfasts and then the Beforenoon Tea Stand which is filled with treats including a ‘fried egg' mango and vanilla cheesecake and cereal-based cakes and tarts. Savouries include mini cream cheese and smoked salmon croissants, Cheddar Cheese, Colman's Mustard and chive scones with bacon jam, three-cheese toasties and Assembly House sausage rolls. Then choose tea or coffee chocolate mousse. All served with loose leaf English Breakfast tea or coffee!

    Available seven days a week from 8am to 11am, our breakfast menu includes favourites such as a Full English Fry-up packed full of local ingredients to Posh Cheese on Toast, our popular Beforenoon Tea (a breakfast edition of our afternoon tea served on three tiers) to our Double-Baked Cheddar and Parmesan Soufflés, Kedgeree to Eggs Benedict, Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs on sourdough to Buttermilk Pancakes with berries and creme fraiche or Chocolate...There's something for everyone on the menu! We also have vegan and vegetarian fry-ups available and homemade breakfast beans on toast. Start your day the right way: under chandeliers!

    I had a GF savoury afternoon tea - my husband had a normal one - my sandwiches were very dry - the sausage rolls hard and the grapes were we’ll pass it - they were bad and sour - too much cheese not enough variety of savoury items - most savoury afternoon teas have one sweet item - cake or pastry - to counteract the taste - we had sugar mice! The afternoon tea was a gift from my son - I would have complained and not paid the extortionate price for the sub standard food if this was not a gift I have had many afternoon teas at various venues and this was way down in my estimations - would not recommend it to anyone

    Lovely afternoon tea as always, staff always friendly Oliver looked after myself and my grandma today and it was a pleasure had a chat and laugh. Oliver was professional and met our needs, he was patient and consistent he’s a credit to the team. The assembly house always has a pleasant atmosphere and a lovely presence from all staff members. Always welcoming which is lovely. We will be back for sure. Thank you.

    I took my Granddaughter for Afternoon Tea and she thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared and presented. Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, couldn’t have wished for better and the surroundings were lovely!

    A gift voucher for my birthday from my son. Always thought of visiting here and so pleased I had the chance. Staff really helpful, I am disabled and had my walker. No problem it was put aside. An array of menus and choices were offered. We decided on the lunch menu and gave our order, with a Bellini cocktail each we sat back and took in the atmosphere. Lovely friendly vibe, staff very attentive and waltzing around with afternoon tea platters under beautiful chandeliers. This place is definitely recommended.

    Afternon tea to celebrate our marriage at Assembly House 20yrs ago, food, service & ambience spot on. Gluten free option superb.

    Another amazing themed Afternoon Tea (Pink - " In a crowd of PIGEONS be a FLAMINGO"). As always great attention to detail and even Pink Scones. Very promptly served. Table checked periodically for tea refills etc. Always a pleasure to have this little luxury.
