We went there to celebrate our anniversary. Good friends accompanied us. Everything from the service, pace of presentation, quality of the food, varied textures of the food, the wine list and help of the sommelier, was spot on.
We had a lovely dinner and are looking forward to returning.
The Ashby Inn is always my go-to for a special occasion. The service is spot on and the food is amazing. Couple that with the charm of an home and B&B and you cant go wrong.
The Ashby Inn has returned to its glory days! Our last visit was disappointing, but they have upped their game once again! My mother and I had brunch and it was delicious! The service is good again- attentive without hovering- you can’t beat the patio for scenic dining. We had the white asparagus soup, fried mushrooms, eggs benedict, beer battered cod and the sticky toffee cake- all plated beautifully and delicious! The Chef hit a home run and we are thrilled one our favorite restaurants has returned to its roots- local ingredients, good service and innovative meals- Bravo!!!
A visit to The Ashby Inn is like a warm hug! We are always welcomed as family & given our favorite patio table with a view of the garden. We settled in with a glass of Hillinger brut rose & warm bread w/ honey butter (sprinkled with sea salt). They had us sample the Italian smoked EVOO the last time so magically another taste appeared! We were very happy with the staff & chef who seems to improve each time we visit. My Asparagus w/ Black Forest Ham was perfect, as was Barry's Deviled eggs with smoked salmon. A feast for the eyes as well as the palette. I moved on to Shrimp & Grits w/ crispy chunks of pork belly. Barry had authentic Fish & Chips complete w/ mushy peas, malt vinegar & tartar sauce. While we had hoped for a chocolate dessert we settled for the Sticky Toffee Pudding & Strawberry Chantilly. My French press & Barry's Cappuccino were a wonderful way to end the early Mothers' Day treat.
As always, the Ashby Inn provided an amazing experience filled with creative, delicious food and perfectly paired wine. We were celebrating the start to our honeymoon, and this was the perfect way to kick off the festivities. The Ashby provides impeccable service with awesome touches like an amuse-bouche, fresh baked bread, and a pallet cleanser before dessert. This continues to be one of my favorite restaurants, and is an experience that is tough to beat. We hope to come back next time we are in the area. A big thank you to sommelier Stuart Brennen, who once again helped create a very memorable night.
Absolutely one of our favorite places. Wine list Food impeccable service. Very fortunate to live so close
Dinner was excellent and the staff is always attentive
Everything about our visit was fantastic. The service, the food, and the views. The sommelier was the best we’ve ever had. His knowledge and assistance is very hard to beat. Couldn’t ask for a better day and celebration. Thank you Ashby Inn.
Dinner was very disappointing. Beef was tough, lamb loin over cooked and the fish dry. No salad(s) on the menu. In sum, this is the third time recently that we've eaten there and will not be going back until the menu becomes less "precious." The Inn needs to focus on "real food" well executed instead of something that the chef seems to think is glamorous and still not well-executed. For such a lovely spot to serve disappointing food is a travesty.
Food was fabulous! Our waiter was very informative and polite. Atmosphere was nice and cozy.
The staff were super friendly and helpful with choices, especially wine. I can't wait to come back and try other things on the menu!
Will return to the Ashby Inn on our next trip to Northern Virginia.
Beautiful place, amazing food, friendly staff. We enjoyed every moment
A great special occasion place with outstanding ambience, food and service. It is priced accordingly, so if value/cost is a concern, this may not be your cup of tea. But, if you're a real foodie, then take a trip to Paris. Either one ...... Paris, France or the Ashby Inn in Paris, Virginia.
No need to go to Paris, France, when we can enjoy the ambiance and romance of The Ashby Inn and Restaurant in Paris, Virginia! What a gem of a find! We look forward to returning!
Superb experience, as always. The food is delicious and unique, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and professional.
Amazing food, perfect view of the countryside, and attentive service. Can’t recommend Ashby Inn enough!
Chef was amazing and Bonnie made the experience worth retuning for in the future - Excellent!
Outstanding!! Our third time and we will be back soon. The soup was to die for!!
This was a top notch experience. Our party of four did the Chef’s tasting menu. Each bite was meticulously thought out and equally delicious. The service could not have been better. We had a wonderful dinner
Easter Brunch was wonderful. Only thing that would have made it perfect was better weather and table on patio. A favorite location. Stewart always has great wine suggestions and the service was attentive and friendly.
We are never disappointed when we're lucky enough to find ourselves going to the Inn for a special occasion (in this case Easter brunch). Food, perfect. Service, exceptional (we love Bonnie but the entire team is excellent). We're sure some in DC might find it a bit of a trip "just" to dine but it's worth it !!!
excellent staff and service. One of the best meals I have had in recent memory.
Wonderful, wonderful food. Excellent service and knowledgeable staff! We’ll definitely be back!
We love this restaurant. We keep on coming back for our special occasions. Dinners are always outstanding at this place.
We so enjoy wining/dining at the Ashby Inn. Stuart the sommelier always has a great suggestions. The three of us so thoroughly enjoyed each our unique dishes. Cheers and thanks!
Excellent experience all around. The food was exquisite and beautifully decorated. The service was stellar - I wish other top restaurants in VA offered this kind of service & attention to detail. Highly recommended!
The main course was a bit underwhelming. Other courses were good, though dessert was not that special either. Need to do a little more to improve the food if they are going to continue to charge such high prices. Atmosphere and service are up to par for a restaurant of this pretension.
What a wonderful experience, a very special night.
We were welcomed warmly when we walked in .
Our server Nolan and the Sommelier Stuart were very knowledgeable and attentive.
The tasting menu is the way to go, we both had the Chef’s tasting and it was fantastic. Six Perfectly portioned works of culinary art, with perfectly paired wines for each course.
Chef Andrew did a fantastic job the food was perfect.
We will return again soon.
I had been wanting to try the Ashby Inn for several years, and my wife and I are both glad that we finally did. The place is absolutely beautiful. A lot of history and character. The Amuse Bouche and little extras between courses were all very nice. Services was very good, but felt like it took a long time to get dessert course and to get the check at the end of the meal. Food overall was all amazing, taste wise and visually, but a few components in a dish or two that seemed slightly out of place. All in all, a great experience with wonderful food and comfortable but elegant environment.
The staff at Ashby really took care of us. We went to celebrate a milestone birthday and they greeted our party as such from the moment we walked through the door. The dishes for each course were promptly delivered and exquisite. The small bites and palette cleansers in-between courses were also delicious. Chef Tom goes over the top with presentation. Each dish was a beautiful work of art both visually and consumptionally. The combination of surprising ingredients worked in harmony and each piece was wonderfully cooked and prepared. I highly recommend this place for when you need to celebrate that special occasion. Bravo to Chef Tom and sous Chef Andrew! Thank you so much!
I have wanted to try this restaurant for some time and having friends from out of town visiting was a perfect excuse. The food was wonderful and making it even more memorable was the entire staff -- especially the Sommelier, Stuart, who made perfect recommendations and regaled us with his in depth knowledge of the history of the area. I am looking forward to returning again soon.
The food was good but the service very slow - we decided because of a big private party in house. It was one hour from the time of our arrival to the service of the first course. The wait staff tried to ameliorate this delay by offering two sets of amuse bouche, more rolls than we could possibly eat, and finally sending us off with little bags of granola. All appreciated, but more rapid service would have been better!
We love The Ashby Inn, the food is Amazing but even more importantly the People make us feel so welcome. Manager Carlos took very good care of us and Chef Thomas amazed us with the sight and taste of the food Especially the Duck which I am still raving about. Stuart Brennan always knows what wine to pair with the food and our dear friend Nolan spent as much time with us as she could. We know she has other folks to look after but we wish she could sit down and join us for conversation , we adore her! Be Back Soon!!
One of the best dinning experiences my fiancé and I have had over the past year. The tasting menu is an experience not just a meal. We both agree the service and it presentation were the best in a tasting setting either of us have had.
Delicious, creative food and wonderful staff who are patient with all questions. Sommelier was very helpful as well.
Ashby Inn has great food and service. It is on the expensive side, but worth the price.
What a wonderful birthday dinner! Beautiful food, wine and service.
