   A birthday celebration that was lovely from start to finish Delicious food with artful presentation and comfortable service. Nice wine list, too.

   Our experience at the Ashby Inn is always fabulous. The food is creative and exceptionally prepared. The wine pairings are excellent, as is the wine list. And everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Couldn't be better.

   The wine sommelier was our waiter for brunch. He was very nice. Although it took about an hour and a half to get our food and there two other parties on the patio. They were not busy inside. I had the filet mignon and poached egg and it was a bit too salty

   We have been there many times over the years and always have had an excellent experience. Today, the first two courses were excellent..as usual. But my four star rating is based upon two small but annoying things. 1) The Crème Brûlée was so sweet that I could not eat it..was like eating a bowl of sugar, 2) I was told that an espresso was not available today (Mother’s Day) due to the fixed menu….yet the couple next to us had both just been served expresso. We were told that this was a mistake. Regardless, how much effort/time does it require to make one expresso?

   Had a wonderful brunch with my wife at the Ashby Inn today. We started with a mimosa and the Chesapeake Oysters. For our entrees I had the filet mignon and eggs while my wife had the Spagettini pasta. Everything was excellent! For dessert we had the cheese tray and tres leches tiramisu, which were flavorful yet light and did not disappoint. Although the cheese tray was very good on its own, the tres leches tiramisu was absolutely amazing. Overall, a wonderful meal with very friendly service in a cute and quiet setting. We will be back!
