Contemporary Southern
With its warm service and artistic food presentation, The Asbury at The Dunhill Hotel puts a sophisticated spin on the local food movement and traditional Southern dishes. The Asbury is a tribute to Charlotte’s southern roots and the culturally diverse community of the New South. There is a strong tie to heirloom ingredients native to the area and specialty items grown by small, family farms throughout the local region.

Located on the corner of N. Tryon & 6th Streets at the heart of Uptown Charlotte’s cultural district, it’s only fitting that the restaurant features regional art curated in collaboration with Sozo Gallery.

This place was... weird. It felt like we were in an unfinished back room with a couple tables and chairs thrown in. Server was sweet. My Manhattan was shaken and tasted like pure vermouth. Ordered the cheese plate and were never informed what was even on it. Deviled eggs tasted like the ones I make at home. Pub steak was good, cooked perfectly but average. Overall, the experience was odd and probably won’t be back.

Host/sever did not have our reservation. I showed her the the email to confirm. She stated the system has been down all morning. This was false because I just got the points for the visit. She then proceeded to sit 4 people at a 2 top table in the a hidden corner in the lobby of the hotel. The sever seemed to forget about us on and off while we where there. Food was good , everything else was crap.

Surprisingly good. Not a fancy menu, but tasty and good. The deviled eggs were great and so were the drinks. Just overall, a real good meal, real good company at a fair price.

Very incredible meal! The salmon was divine as was the warm kale salad. Disappointed there was no bread but our incredible waiter brought our crostini chips. The staff is incredible. The restaurant was a little quiet on a Saturday at 7pm but it got more crowded. Great value, will eat here again.

We always go to Asbury for their brunch, but this time we tried their dinner menu. Now it’s our favorite brunch AND dinner spot in uptown - can’t go wrong here! ☺️

I visited during my stay at the Dunhill. The hotel and the restaurant were intimate and I found the food and the service to be detailed and attentive. I would highly recommend for a quiet dinner and/or drinks.

This is our second visit to The Asbury, both times for our wedding anniversary. The staff were very friendly and even brought us champagne without request, as they saw on our reservation that this was our anniversary. As before, every course was delicious. Our server was both friendly and knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. We will certainly be back.

The food is adequate. Basic, sub par. Not worth the trip. Every time the door opens it’s freezing. It opens right into the small space. Service was very good.

Gustavo the bartender was great and he made a wonderful Rye Manhattan. Super nice guy and loved the bar

Our server(unfortunately I can’t remember her name) was also very nice and accommodating.

The food was SOOOOOO good.my wife loved the grilled Kale Salad in particular and the very. Ready mashed potatoes.

I’m sure the ambience is much better when the sanity can run as a restaurant with no restrictions. I am happy they are finding a way to survive.

The pace of the dinner was just what we were looking for. The food was well prepared, good flavor, came to the table in a timely manner, and was hot. Very attentive service, especially by Jenni. Looking forward to our next meal at The Ashury.

Had New Year's Eve dinner with my wife and the meal was delicious--crab soup for appetizers, mussels in curry sauce for dinner, and wonderful desserts from their amazing pastry chef. We highly recommend The Asbury!

Went for brunch. We loved the asbury the first time we visited. This past time wasn’t the same. Our food was okay but not as great at the first time. Drinks were okay. Maybe we had too many expectations from the first visit. We were slightly disappointed

Server was just ok, seemed unenthusiastic. The food was just okay, ordered the deviled eggs, Mac and cheese and asbury brunch stack. all the food lacked seasoning, quite bland, no depth to the flavors.

Traveling from nyc came here for brunch.. not sure if it was due to covid place was EMPTY not what
I expected. No music food was ok until half way through my sandwich was a thick black hair fried into the chicken and $13 for a small omelette with no sides. Not worth it

If you come for brunch -- definitely get the banana pudding pancakes and order the side of potato cake (with jalapeno -- not spicy -- and goat feta. I will most CERTAINLY come back!
