Enjoyed our brunch. Will come back again. Our sever was a little inexperienced . Brought the check without asking if we would like anything else. No offer of dessert, drink etc. It was fine because we were finished, but she did not know that!
Excellent food and service. A little noisy. But certainly worth the visit.
Prefect place for lunch! The Chicken Sammy and Mac and cheese was delicious. The service was fantastic. Will be back for sure!!
Asbury is a great brunch spot. The coffee is really good. The biscuits and sticky buns are amazing. Everyone enjoyed the chicken and waffles. Not a large dining area so the service was excellent
We went for brunch after Easter mass. The dining room was well lit and quiet. The menu is farm to plate, so the offerings depend on the local supply of foods. I had a Krenz burger and my daughter had the farm breakfast. The burger was tasty. The patty was thin and the bun overwhelmed it. The fresh eggs made the breakfast very tasty. Overall, a pleasant, relaxing brunch
Food was virtually tasteless, service lackadaisical, room noisy.
This is a good quiet lunch place for a great conversation, and the food is always impressive. The service was slow on the day we were there, but otherwise enjoyable.
The Asbury was a great find in our visit to Charlotte. The food was excellent. Star of the show was the fisherman’s stew. Light and delicious broth and perfectly prepared fish. Desert was also amazing. We shared bread pudding and homemade buttermilk and sugar ice cream .
Some items on the menu were a little pedestrian (beets with goat cheese, asparagus with hollandaise). However, the crispy pork cheeks in carrot + ginger bisque entree was inspired! Our server, however, could not have been less attentive. Service was so bad that I can't recommend it.
We came here for brunch before a 1:30 show at the Belk Theater. Our table wasn't ready when we got there so we had to wait about 10 minutes, but the staff was very attentive to the fact that we had a show to make it to and the hostess even informed our server so our server knew before she even came to greet us. We both had mimosas - mine with cranberry juice and my Mom's with grapefruit juice. They were delicious. For the entree I had the Southern Benedict with biscuits, country ham, poached eggs, and pimento cheese gravy. Oh my gosh it was heavenly!! I will come back just to have that gravy. Mom had the vegetable and egg entree with veggies, a poached egg and a light butter cream sauce. She said it was delicious but the description said it was also supposed to have potatoes and she doesn't think hers had any potatoes in it. The service was wonderful and we will definitely come back for the food! So glad we tried it for Sunday brunch!
Able to get in and out in time for a show is the real trick. Make reservations and tell them you are going to a show.
I usually find the food a real treat but on Friday March 16 I had the monk fish and it was not up to the typical standard I expect at the Asbury.
Not sure if it was March Madness fever but that would not be a recipe I suggest you repeat. I will try the Asbury again as I usually enjoy their food.
Our reservation was at 7:30 Two guests ordered steaks and they only had one steak left on a Thursday night. Wine was medium priced. Deviled eggs were very good.
Absolutely incredible meal. Food was delicious, well thought out and highly executed. Flavors were unique and inspiring.
Wait staff was attentive and thorough. Cocktails were delicious. I would recommend the restaurant not just for a special occasion, but for anytime you want to go out. I often stop in and sit at the bar for a burger before an event downtown.
Donnie is very attentive.
The food is good and the wait staff is great but twice in a row now we have had to wait 30 minutes past our reservations. This time they said the “silverware wasn’t ready”. Very unacceptable.
The food has never disappointed at the Asbury! The wine selection and pairings are also excellent. Chef Mike is always introducing new seasonal farm to fork opportunities, to include excellent fish options as well. My scallops were done to perfection and my husband's pork cheeks were lovely.
Great team effort. One of our very favorite restaurants!
Dinner was excellent. Our server, Justin, was great. Our dessert, a white chocolate panna cotta, was exceptional.
Always a lovely dining experience! We go every time my parents are in town (I highly suggest you try the deviled eggs!).
My mom & I recently had a pre-show meal here and everything was wonderful. Our waiter, Justin, was fantastic and the food (both presentation & taste) was phenomenal. Such a creative menu, it was hard to decide because I wanted to try so much of it. Loved it, will definitely be back!
The Brussels sprouts were outstanding. Would definitely order them again.
Dinner w/ friends before concert @ Belk Theater..our first visit, and will NOT be our last! It checked all the boxes for us. Warm & cozy space, quiet enough to actually enjoy dinner chat. Outstanding attention to detail service (Justin, if I remember correctly) love that they offer smaller versions of the specials and entrees. Scallops were sweet & delicious, pork cheeks..yummy! Don’t miss MawMaws Biscuits! Well done Asbury, thanks for the excellent dining experience.
It's been far too long since we've been back to Asbury but it won't be as long before our next visit. We had a great experience overall. My warm kale salad with the trout was excellent. My friends enjoyed the swordfish and steamed cabbage roll. My husband tried the burger and liked it but didn't give it five stars. The fried oysters were a bit salty also which is why I rated the food 4 (4.5 if it were an option!). Perhaps a bit more dressing on the cauliflower would be appreciated too. Again, we'll be back though. Such a lovely setting and again, great service!
Very good overall experience! Ambiance was nice and service was good! Enjoyed the deviled eggs appetizer then very much enjoyed the scallops, swordfish and scallops entrees! The cocktails were delicious as were the desserts (carrot cake and creme brûlée) Would highly recommend!
Stayed at the hotel that evening and dined at the Asbury prior to a show at Belk Theatre. Although the restaurant is small, the food and tastes were large! Tried several small plates with cocktails, the Mac and cheese and pork belly were delicious! Will definitely dine there again! Thanks for making a special occasion top notch!
Felt rushed, had to ask repeatedly for beverages to be refilled. Not my favorite experience. Food was good.
Excellent food from appetizer to entre to dessert.
We especially enjoyed the retro bar menu and will be back to try more. The bean appetizer was tasty although would have like a little more moisture. The fennel sale was lightly dressed, fresh and generous to share but we found few pieces of fennel. The sauage with rigatoni was perfection and the fruits di mare was fresh and sauce delicious. We share a delicious mocha carmel dessert.
The restaurant was very lovely. Dinner was amazing. The server could have been a little more explanatory towards the dishes we got. I like to hear about the food before I eat it. We went last year around this time and our server then explained every dish that came to our table, it was wonderful.
Teamed it with a stay at the Dunhill Hotel which was equally impressive.
The meal was good. Not great, but good. The place was dead silent to an awkward level. Could hear everyone’s conversation. The service was great!
Outstanding dining experience! Loved everything about this restaurant - service, creative culinary “farm to table” options, great wine selections. We plan to make this restaurant our new “date night” spot. Thanks to Jenny and Frank for a memorable night.
The restaurant was very average. The service was just ok. And the food was ok at best.
So glad we finally made it for brunch!! The Asbury has been on our list for hot spots in Charlotte. My husband ordered the chicken & biscuits - best we've both ever had! I had chicken & waffles and the breading on the chicken was the best savory flavor with the sweet syrup! BYO Bloody Mary Bar and great morning cocktail choices!
Our waiter was in love with himself. The restaurant had only one other (although large) table going that evening, but even so the waiter disappeared for long periods. The food was very appealing and flavorful, although the risotto was not warm when it arrived.
It's too bad. It's a good location, small enough to feel right for good conversation and the menu and food is great (if brought out promptly). But everyone in my party noticed the poor service.
We had difficulty with the menu because there were so many wonderful things to offer. We shared the biscuits with bacon jam, the deviled eggs and a warm kale salad, all delicious. The server gave excellent suggestions and stellar friendly service. Pork Cheeks and Scallops were dreamy. I am a convert and will definitely return for a repeat performance.
Good menu, Server was knowledgeable, Good wine list, reasonably priced
Great experience and exceptional service. Loved it.
Very enjoyable meal and service. Server was very nice. Food served promptly.
waiter did not engage us in conversation to give dinner warm feeling, but service was fair (had to wait for drinks)
