The Asbury
Located on the corner of N. Tryon & 6th Streets at the heart of Uptown Charlotte’s cultural district, it’s only fitting that the restaurant features regional art curated in collaboration with Sozo Gallery.
Open seven days a week and serving the longest weekend brunch in Charlotte.
Food is delicious, service wonderful and it’s in close proximity to the Blumenthal!
Quaint restaurant located adjacent to the Dunhill Hotel lobby and bar. Nicely decorated. Comfortable. Food was delicious.
Food superb, both in selection and product. Service excellent - server knew everything about every dish and was cheerful, responsive and prompt.
This place was such a pleasant surprise. We went before a show and didn't know anything about the restaurant, but it was nice and quiet, the staff was incredibly helpful (especially after they learned we were in a bit of a hurry), and the food was very good. It will be our pre-show go to place from now on.
During lunch hour not very busy, not great ambiance.
Food wasn’t very good.
Pleasant, delish, perfect in all ways!
Biscuit's were not good, and they no longer have bacon jam. The toast was 100 times better than the biscuit's. Service was also very poor, and there was no one there.
Great food and service highly recommend!
Worst service ever. Won’t go back.
Everything was fantastic from start to finish. The cast iron biscuits are a must. So good!!!!! Also the Anna cotta was the best I have ever had. It came with an apple and raisin compote on top. I’ll be craving that for s long time. The service was excellent as well.
First time visit.
Amazing. The food was phenomenal- I got the grouper and my husband got the duck breast. Their menu seems to change but I would recommend both these items. Our server - Sabrina - was so friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this.
Food was great! We especially enjoyed the deviled eggs (almonds and honey) and Brussel sprouts! Tomato soup could have been warmer. Service was disappointing...didn’t inquire about dessert, coffee and we had to remind the server “we are still here and would value service until we depart”. Regardless, made a reservation to return in November.
Our dining experience was awful and definitely not what was expected from The Asbury. The last time we ate there the food and service was outstanding, which is why when we were attending a concert across the street with friends we immediately wanted to dine there. Our reservations were for 5:30 but the wait staff treated us as if they weren't expecting us. The service was extremely slow and lackluster and the food was awful. Our duck was extremely undercooked, and the portion size of the sides were extremely small. We had to request a steak knife as our waiter only provided butter knives. We left extremely disappointed and will not eat her again nor recommend it to others.
Service was terrible. Highly inattentive and forgetful wait staff. Asked 4x for hot water and never received any. Asked 3x for cinnamon and then finally it arrived. Waited 20 mins for someone, anyone, to grab our dirty dishes and bring check. Any table close to the entrance door is treated to an icy blast of air every time someone enters restaurant. Very disappointing as this restaurant used to be really good.
Service was good. Limited selection of meals.
It was so nice to sit in the lobby of the connected quaint hotel and have a cocktail before going next door to dinner. The food quality at the Asbury is amazing. They use fresh, seasonal ingredients. The service is very attentive and we enjoyed the evening!
Great place and great food. Service was out of sorts it seems and not sure if it was because of the panthers home game traffic. That will not keep me from coming back though
The service was impeccable and the meal was exceptional. We like to dine tapas style and share several dishes and our server made it happen.
Feel as if you have stepped back to the 1940's in decor and feel. The food is first rate and the prices reasonable. Staff was attentive without being intrusive. I recommend this restaurant and will go back.
Cold food, very bland, no salt or pepper available to improve taste. Rushed service, wine brought while still having cocktails, dessert menu provided while still eating main course, bill brought with dessert. We could hear the conversation of the table clear across the restaurant and at every other table. Disinterested wait staff.
Amazing food and small, quaint dining area right in uptown. Friendly service, reasonable portion sizes, and didn’t break the bank. No complaints!
The food was terrific. As odd as this may seem, The devil eggs were so good I actually ordered them for desert. The grit cake served on a bed of corn, okra, and tomatoes was really special! The menus was inventive and every was prepared well!
Food was pretty good but the atmosphere was dull and felt like a hole in the wall with decorations to disguise it. The food was the only thing I enjoyed.
Thank you for your recent review of your experience at The Asbury. We hope to see you again soon.
Went here on a whim for brunch. Smallish restaurant located inside of an historic hotel. Had the chicken and waffles and the chicken and biscuit. Both were very good. The waffles and biscuit were airy in the way that makes you think you can eat bread all day. The chicken... Unbelievably tender. The service was absolutely great and I would definitely go back.
Great personal service
Brunch was tasty !
This place is okay. We saw it recommended on a few lists and excitedly, thought we'd check it out. After eating at the establishment for brunch, we would not go back. Service was great, food is just meh.
I decided to have a brunch date with my husband and this place was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend this restaurant!
Brunch was great and you can tell the wait staff there was very attentive and caring! Food could have been a tad better, but overall left quite full and happy. Definitely get the sticky biscuits!
Great food, wonderful service.
Food was superb. Wish the brunch menu had more choices though.
Overpriced attempt at southern modern food. Nice stage and location.
This restaurant had wonderful reviews so we thought it would be a beautiful spot to have dinner with our family visiting. It’s a hotel restaurant. We made that mistake.
The interior needs to be elevated. The menu was limited, a majority of us ordered the same dish which never happens. I don’t see my husband and I going back.
Great all around!! Look forward to coming back. Thank you!
Food superb! Recommend making the watermelon and cuke salad a regular on your summer menu. Service was not as attentive as on a previous visit (just last year).
Very small but quaint hotel restaurant! You will not e disappointed. The menu is small but well done!
Excellent!
Interesting menu, friendly service, great location.
Nice, slow paced restaurant in the uptown Charlotte area. Casual but with the feel of a finer dining room. Older building, nice table setting. We ordered the special (grouper) delicious...peach salad with greens (would have preferred mixed greens to arugula) but very nicely prepared and the delicious cast iron biscuits. Dined before a show and got in and out in an hour and a half. Would recommend.
