This is such an awesome restaurant/brewery. I really enjoyed brunch and the service was excellent and attentive.

2 minor improvements:

1. Somehow birds go into the restaurant. (They have extremely high ceilings and probably have the brewery doors open for deliveries.) Occassionally, however, they would land on the tables. Eek.
2. In the winter dress warmly the restaurant is a bit drafty. Drinking more beer is also a suggestion! :)

The service was great, the beer was fantastic but the food was sub-par for the price you pay. If we come back, it will only be for beer, nothing else.

This restaurant is one of my favorites in D.C. I take every out of town guest here for the great beer, good food and aesthetics. My friends and I often go to watch sports games. Whatever the occasion, Bluejacket never disappoints!

Ok, but very overpriced. 4 burgers, 2 pretzel apps, and 4 beers came to 150 bucks. Requested to sit in a booth, hostess refused while table was empty during our entire dinner. Beer is good, but not for the value paid.

The pierogies were the best I've had anywhere, and being able to try original beers is always a plus! Only downside to the evening was I ate way too much

I was excited about going to Blue Jacket for a liverwurst Sandwich; unfortunately it was no longer on the menu. My husband and I ordered two appetizers, both were good. My husband ordered porchetta, which he loved. I had a burger as a backup to what I actually wanted which was the liverwurst. The experience was good.

While I was impressed by the locally crafted beers, I was disappointed by the disorganized service of the host, our server, and the table attendant. Half the meal was over before my water was refilled and the server returned to check on the table. The server seemed to lack knowledge about salad protein add-ons, so my small salad ended up being the price of an entree without the benefit of a side.

This may be a good place for drinks, but it is not a good place for dining.

The beer at Bluejacket is great, and the food is pretty good too. We had a nice time but did feel a little pushed out by our server. I imagine it was because it was a Friday night and somewhat busy, but we hadn't yet finished our drinks when we were handed the check.

I continue to want to like and return to Blue Jacket. Great setting, good beer and usually good food. (My chicken sandwich was delicious.) But consistently there are issues with service. After food arrived the server disappeared, and that has been a regular occurrence the last 3-4 times I have been there. No checking in, no additional water, no checking on drinks. And they were not that busy.
The other issue this visit was about bourbon. They were out of at least four of them. The server finally recommended one that they did have, but it was pricier than the others, and he said that it would be "on them." The bill came, complete with a $22 charge for my bourbon. So much for "on them."

Restaurant was nice. The interior is quite striking. The food was delicious. The burgers are the best. The beer selection was great and the beer very, very good. The brownie desert was huge and served 3. The coffee was French press and it was wonderful. Service was top notch. When the place became crowded, the noise level increased significantly. Overall, a good place to eat.

Great food and selection of wine. I was there for a business dinner, my client and I ordered the 30oz rib eye which was delicious but had terrible service. Our server, Charlotte rushed us off throughout our meal. At 9 pm she proceeded to close us off even though we were not finished and told us she was done for the day even done the restaurant was open for a few more hours and we were not finished. Not a good place for a business dinner if staff is not professional

The food was good and the service in the dining area was great. I went back a second time, and the food was still good but the service in the bar area was not so good. It wasn't that busy but the server was busy talking to ladies for extended periods of time instead of taking care of all of their customers. I had to get another server to settle up. I would go again, but not for dining in the bar area.

We went on a Sunday evening for dinner and the service was terrible. The waiter hardly looked up when he took our drink order (20 minutes after we were seated). Then we waited for another 20 minutes without receiving drinks or any explanation as to why it was taking so long. We ended up walking out. 40 minutes of waiting and no greeting, no drinks, no apologies.

Not to mention, our table was so dark we could hardly read the menu (other tables had lights, just not ours...).

Brunch was awesome. A fun way to take traditional items and present them is clever tasteful manner. The Eggs Benedict with kale is to die for and the cinnamon buns are worth the calories. Great personal service as well. Thank you.

I like Blue Jacket. I've gone three or four times and am not sure why I haven't been there more. the food is always solid. I guess I wish they had a larger salad and somewhat healthier food selection, but everything is usually prepared perfectly. My one complaint this time was that my English muffin (under some veggies and eggs) was definitely not toasted enough. This is a common problem (and no, it wasn't soggy from what was on top), but BJ is a nice enought restaurant to get it right.

My dining partners had the Waldorf salad, which was perfect, and the other had the breakfast sandwich. Breakfast sandwich was great but English muffin should have been toasted a bit more there, too.

Coffee was very good.

In the past I've had the duck meatball pasta and chicken sandwich, both of which I wouldn't change a bit. Friend chickpeas are a must if you are there for dinner or at the bar.

Beer section is spectacular, and they have decent wine, too. I'm headed back for another lunch later this week, actually!

The food was absolutely amazing. We got the soft pretzels as an appetizer and burgers for our meals. As a vegetarian having the falfel burger as an option was awesome and my carnivorous boyfriend even liked it! The best part of the meal was the tater tots - they were homemade and just incredible. We also really enjoyed being able to get taster flights of the beer, which let us try just about everything we wanted to on the menu. We will definitely be going back!

The beer is amazing, the food was good, but the service was slow. It took 2.5 hours for two rounds of drinks and a meal. I understand that Sunday brunch is a busy time, but it shouldn't take 30+ minutes to get a drink and 20+ minutes to pay the bill.

Saturday afternoon, 2:30pm. We walked in off the street and were told it would be over an hour wait for a table (party of four). I signed into Open Table and reserved a table for :15 minutes later. We were seated in :10 after returning with our reservation (thank you Open Table!!). The bar area was full, but not the restaurant. Our waitress was not attentive and incredibly slow. I would blame it on volume, but when she forgot our drinks, didn’t bring a spooon for our soup, filled my friends’ coke and skipped mine (I was directly across from her and our glasses were practically touching), and only came back quickly to see if we had paid our check, I was over it and her.

The food was excellent, but everyone in our party commented on the poor service. Sorry.

I would not recommend this restaurant. Even though we had made a reservation, the hostess have away our table because I didn't answer my phone when she called to confirm and she missed my text response confirming. We got a table but the way she treated my friend who arrived 15 min prior to our reservation was absolutely unacceptable.

Every time we have been here we have waited at least 20 minutes after our reservation time just to be seated. We've gone out of convenience more than anything, hoping that this would improve. They need to learn to better manage walk-ins and reservations, prioritizing the latter. Once seated, service was fine this time, but the wait had already soured the occasion.

The beers are OK, and might be worth buying if they were to distribute around town. But the food is mediocre given the pricing.

If you want long waits with little chance for interaction with the brewers, and crowds reminiscent of college parties, then this is the place for you. If you're interested in getting to know the brewers, the beer, and having a more communal and friendly atmosphere, then head to somewhere like Right Proper.

It's a shame too, because Greg has done amazing things with NRG's largely amazing venues. Bluejacket just isn't one of them.

Had a 6:00 p.m. Reservation on Sunday before the Nats Dodgers game. The food and beer were fine as usual. Our server was friendly and doing her best. However, inexplicably, there was only one of her. This was extremely frustrating. We ordered drinks and food together, both of which showed up way too soon. And then we waited, for drink orders, for the drinks to arrive, and ultimately for the check. Along with a neighboring table, we handed over a credit card while requesting our check to speed the process.

I have no idea if servers no-showed, called in sick, or whatever, but that shouldn't be my concern. The fact was that the overall service was subpar, although the actual server was wonderful.

We arrived 20 minutes early for our 5pm reservation and checked in with the host. As expected, we were asked to return at 5pm for our reservation. When we returned at 5pm, the hosts asked us to give them 10 more minutes and that we should check back with them at 5:10 because they were "not quite ready". We ended up finding an open table at the bar and took that instead. Having a 5pm reservation and not being seated was frustrating. I would have had more patience if there were others already at the tables and their service was taking longer than expected, but 5pm was the first seating and the dining room was empty.

Excellent experience. Food was terrific (OMG the sauce with the mussels and sausage was out of this world as was the mumbo sauce on the wings), and always fun to be at Bluejacket. Server was great too. My only constructive feedback would be that the hostesses seemed to be having trouble seating customers right after the ball game, even though the dining hall was practically empty when we arrived. One would think that they would have the after-the-game rush down to a science?!?

We opted for seating in the bar instead of the restaurant. I had 3 basic complaints: 1) I sent back a beer but it was still on the bill. When I mentioned it to the waiter he said he was worried about that..hmmm, then why not check the bill before giving it to me? 2) Only one waiter in bar area so service was slow 3) I asked for extra ketchup and didn't get any. So this basically bumped down my review. The burger and fries were good but not great and they're priced on the high side for DC.

Nice Friday evening end of work week dinner. Two dishes were very impressive: broiled oyster appetizer and soft shell crab sandwich. Oysters had an awesome bacon cheese and veggie topping. The soft shell crab was very well prepared, although I think it was a frozen one, slightly mushy. But I'm used to buying my soft shells live from watermen and cleaning and cooking them myself. Nevertheless, the crab was expertly prepped and cooked - well done! Overall, an excellent night out at Bluejacket.
