The Arrogant Butcher Ratings and Reviews
We sat outside with our dogs, the tables were nicely spaced. Staff were friendly although service was a little slow (it was a busy Friday night). Food range and quality great. Drinks also very nice. Would go back, although there is a huge construction site next door so it can be a little noisy
When I called to make a reservation, they said they couldn't make a reservation for me within the hour (I was calling 45 minutes before the requested time). They wanted to push me back 30 minutes after my requested time, but we had a concert to get to. So, once I hung up the phone, I was able to get my requested reservation time on Open Table. I didn't really appreciate that level of service, and had to take things into my own hands, in order to get what we wanted; Opentable.
Once we were there, we were placed by the noisy kitchen, elbow to elbow with two other diners, although my reservation indicated date. When we requested to be reseated, they were accommodating, and the replacement seating was a huge improvement, but again, I had to take it into my own hands, and do the thinking for the staff.
Once the filet came out, it was red with blood oozing, although I had ordered it cooked medium, with a description that it be, "pink."
They were nice about taking them back, and heating them up a little more. I was so pleased that I shared my enthusiasm with the server about how it was done medium, and she said, "No, that's medium well." I just told her that every restaurant does it differently; I know, I travel the world.
The food tasted amazing, absolutely amazing and the Uptick (I think was the name of the Cabernet) was to my liking.
Overall, great food, great service, questionable problem solving ability on the part of the staff.
Their ability to problem solve, in order to in order to have a seamless visit, needs improvement. E.g. give patrons their reservation even if they telephone, don't seat a date by the noisy kitchen when there are more quiet, and romantic crevices of the restaurant, don't serve a bloody steak when patron requests medium/pink, and don't correct the guest when they are expressing gratitude, and reiterating their request.
Good food and a good gastro-pub that is walking distance from the Convention Center. We had the slow cooked prime rib stew which I would call a “high-end” comfort food. We also ordered the scallops which were served on a mixture of sweet potato and deconstructed caramelized maple brussel sprouts. This was as good, or better, then the perfectly cooked Diver Scallops. All in all, great food, good vibe and perfect location if staying in the Downtown Phoenix area.
The restaurant was fine, but open table screwed up. Made a reservation for 6 pm then got to the restaurant and the reservation was for 6:45. Looked up my account in the open table app and it was for 6:45. very disappointing. Will always print out my reservation from open table from now on.
We went to The Arrogant Butcher before a show at the Comerica Theatre. I had emailed a special request a few days before. Tanya replied to tell me that Chef would be happy to prepare the dish I had requested, even though it was not on the Weekend menu.
When we arrived, Tanya came to our table, greeted us and assured me that my request was not forgotten. Our server followed up. He was very personable and attentive.
The food was amazing and the dish that I requested was beyond my expectations. My friend had an equally delightful experience with her dish
I would definitely recommend the Arrogant Butcher and my friend would too. A wonderful experience all round. Thanks so much!
Came for a late dinner after a long day at a conference. Service was great, waitress very friendly. Food was great. Scallops with roasted Brussels sprouts were great, good drinks too. They were able to accommodate a colleague who has strict dietary needs as well. Only thing is they close at 9 pm.
The food was so good and really unique items on the menu. We loved the meats&cheeses and wine. The shrimp appetizer was really good too. For dinner my mom had steak and I had fish and both were exceptional. My wine went perfectly with the appetizers as well. The restaurant is fun with an energetic atmosphere. It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night. Our service was awesome, quick and very attentive. We were going to a concert so she made sure we were in and out on time. The restaurant is my favorite in downtown Phoenix. We will definitely go back. Thank you for a great night!
This is a bar setting. I wasn’t looking for that, but I thought I would give it a try. My purpose was to set up a group dinner for 30 people. I wanted to try it first before I made this decision. Glad I did. Your place came recommended but the food wasn’t good. I’m not a picky eater but I had to return the crab stuffed chicken. It didn’t taste like chicken. I’m 55 years old I know know chicken when I taste it. The waitress was nice and took the meal back and brought out another dish from my selecti9n. It was the chicken tenders, but the chicken was pink and not cooked thoroughly. I didn’t eat it either. Sorry, but I not be coming back.
I normally am a fan of all FOX Concept restaurants and I was very excited to try this one. We had a terrible meal at Arrogant Butcher on Sat night. The food was really off and the service was questionable. We ordered the Butcher's cheese and meat plate - it came to us missing the cheese and the Marcona almonds were really pistachios that tasted like they were from a can. The salad lettuce was wilted didn't seem fresh. We ordered the peanut butter cup for dessert and had to send it back - this was the only time I couldn't eat chocolate and peanut butter dessert. It was a really disgusting peanut-like thick soup with chocolate ice cream in it. I was really disappointed and spent over $200 on a mediocre meal. No thanks, I won't be back.
